al-Nasr is the 110th sura of the Qur’an, which means ‘The Help’, and takes its name from the 1st verse. The sura belongs to the Medinan period and comprises 3 verses, 26 words, 74 letters, and 1 segment. It is the 114th sura in chronological order, revealed after Sura al-Tawba. The first verse speaks of when God Al-mighty’s help and victory arrived. At this time, God Almighty is to be praised, and His forgiveness be sought. This sura was revealed close to the end of the Holy Prophet’s (blessings and peace be upon him) life, implying that once his mission is complete and his message is embraced by many, the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) should be ready to meet his Creator.
