al-Tin is the 95th sura of the Qur’an, which means ‘The Fig’ and takes its name from the 1st verse. The sura belongs to the Meccan period and comprises 8 verses, 34 words, 150 letters, and 1 segment. It is the 28th sura in chronological order, revealed after Sura al-Buruj. The sura begins with a short series of oaths and speaks of the human condition, originating as the best of creation. Following this, the sura warns the disbelievers of what awaits them, and concludes by stressing the greatness of God Almighty’s justice.
