وَلَوْ أَنَّنَا

111. Even if We had sent down angels to them and the dead had spoken to them, and We had gathered all things right in front of them, they would (still) not believe unless Allah so willed. But most of them are ignorant.

112. Thus, for every prophet, We have made an enemy—the Satans from among humans and jinn, who inspire one another with adorned words of deception. Had your Lord willed, they would never have done it. So leave them with what they fabricate,

113. so that the hearts of those who do not believe in the Hereafter may incline towards it, be pleased with it and earn (the evil of) what they commit.

114. (Say:) ‘Should I seek a judge besides Allah, while it is He Who has revealed to you the Book, clearly explained?’ Those to whom We have given the Book know that it has been revealed from your Lord with the truth, so do not be among the doubters.

115. The word of your Lord is fulfilled in truth and justice. No one can change His words. And He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

116. If you obey most of those on the earth, they will lead you astray from the way of Allah. They follow nothing but assumptions, and they are merely guessing (and lying).

117. Indeed, your Lord knows best those who stray from His way, and He knows best the rightly guided.

118. So eat from (the meat of) that (permissible animal) over which Allah’s Name is invoked (at the time of slaughter) if you are (true) believers in His revelations.

119. Why should you not eat from (the meat of) that (animal) over which Allah’s name is invoked (at the time of slaughter), while He has already explained to you whatever He has forbidden you, except for what you are highly compelled (to eat)? Indeed, many people mislead (others) with their desires without (any concrete) knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is He Who knows the transgressors well.

120. Abandon the outward sins and the inward ones. Indeed, those who commit sins shall be recompensed for what they used to commit.

121. And do not eat from (the meat of) that (animal) over which Allah’s name has not been invoked (at the time of slaughter). It is indeed a disobedience (contravening the Sacred Law). Indeed, the devils inspire their intimate friends to argue with you. And if you obey them, you will also become polytheists.

122. Can the one who was dead, then We gave him life and provided him with a light, with which he walks among the people (to enlighten them), be comparable to the one (trapped) in manifold darkness, which he cannot escape? Thus, whatever (misdeeds) the disbelievers used to do were made alluring to them.

123. Thus, We have made the powerful ones the criminals in every town so that they may devise their (evil) plots therein. But they only plot against themselves, though they are unaware.

124. And when a revelation comes to them, they say: ‘We will never believe unless we are given the like of what was given to the messengers of Allah.’ Allah knows best where to place His message. Soon, humiliation before Allah and severe punishment shall befall the guilty because of the plots they used to devise.

125. Whoever Allah intends to guide, He expands his breast for Islam. But whoever He intends to leave astray, He makes his breast narrow and tight, as if he were climbing up into the sky. Thus, Allah lays (spiritual) defilement on those who do not believe.

126. This is your Lord’s path—perfectly straight. We have clearly explained the revelations for a people mindful (of advice).

127. For them shall be the Abode of Peace with their Lord, and He shall be their Guardian because of what they have been doing.

128. On the Day when He would assemble them all together, (He shall say:) ‘O company of jinn! You have misled many of the humans.’ Their friends from among the humans will say: ‘Our Lord! We benefited from one another, and (now) we have reached our term which You had appointed for us.’ He will say: ‘The Fire is your abode, to remain in it forever, except what Allah may wish. Indeed, your Lord is All-Wise, All-Knowing.’

129. That is how We make the wrongdoers allies of one another because of what they used to earn.

130. (Allah will ask:) ‘O company of jinn and humans! Did messengers not come to you from yourselves, proclaiming My revelations to you and warning you of the meeting of this Day of yours?’ They will say: ‘We testify against ourselves.’ The life of this world had deceived them, and they would bear witness against themselves that they had been disbelievers.

131. This (sending of messengers) is because your Lord would never destroy towns unjustly while their people were unaware (of the truth).

132. For everyone, there are ranks according to what they have done. And your Lord is not negligent of what they do.

133. Your Lord is All-Sufficient, the Lord of Mercy. If He wishes, He can remove you and make whomever He pleases to succeed you in your place, just as He raised you from other people’s offspring.

134. Indeed, whatever you are promised will surely come, and you cannot escape it.

135. Say: ‘O my people! Work according to your ability; I, (too), am working (accordingly). You will soon realise who will have (a good end of) the ultimate abode. Indeed, the unjust will never prosper.’

136. They dedicate to Allah a share of the crops and cattle He has created and say: ‘This belongs to Allah,’ as they claim, ‘and this belongs to our partners.’ But what is for their partners does not reach Allah, and what is for Allah reaches their partners. Evil indeed is the judgement they make!

137. Likewise, their partners have made the killing of their children fair-seeming to many of the polytheists so that they may destroy them and confuse them in their religion. Had Allah willed, they would not have done it. So, leave them with what they fabricate.

138. And they say: ‘These cattle and crops are prohibited; no one can eat them except whom we please,’ as they claim. And there are cattle whose backs are forbidden and cattle over which they do not invoke Allah’s name (during slaughter), falsely attributing these (regulations) to Him. Soon, He will recompense them for what they used to fabricate.

139. They (also) say: ‘Whatever is in the wombs of these cattle is reserved for our males and forbidden to our wives. But if it is stillborn, then they are all partners in it. He will soon repay them for their (false) attribution (to Him). Indeed, He is All-Wise, All-Knowing.

140. Certainly, ruined are those who kill their children foolishly without knowledge and who forbid what Allah has provided them, fabricating lies against Allah. They have indeed gone astray and are not guided.

141. He is the One Who produces gardens including climbing and non-climbing plants, date palms and crops with diverse fruits, olives, and pomegranates—similar and dissimilar. Eat the fruits of these crops when they grow and pay its due on the day of its harvest. And do not be wasteful. Indeed, Allah does not like the wasteful.

142. And (He produces) the livestock, (some) for burden and (some) for slaughter. Eat what Allah has provided you. And do not follow in the footsteps of Satan. He is indeed your clear enemy.

143. (Allah has created) eight animals in (four) pairs: a pair of sheep and a pair of goats. Say (to them): ‘Is it the two males that He has forbidden or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Tell me with (sound) knowledge if you are truthful.’

144. And a pair of camels and a pair of cattle. Say: ‘Is it the two males that He has forbidden or the two females, or that which the wombs of the two females contain? Were you present when Allah gave you this command?’ So, who is a greater wrongdoer than he who fabricates a lie against Allah to mislead the people without any knowledge? Indeed, Allah does not guide unjust people.

145. Say: ‘I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden for an eater to eat except carrion, or flowing blood, or flesh of swine, for that is surely impure, or a sinful offering over which any name other than Allah has been invoked during slaughter. But if someone is compelled by extreme necessity, without wilfully disobeying or exceeding the limit, then surely your Lord is Most-Forgiving, All-Merciful.’

146. And for the Jews, We forbade every animal with claws. And We forbade the fat of cattle and sheep, except what is carried by their backs or (mixed with) the internal organs, or what is attached to the bones. Thus, We recompensed them for their rebellion, and indeed, We are Truthful.

147. If they reject you, say: ‘Your Lord is the Possessor of an expansive mercy, yet His punishment will not be averted from the wicked people.’

148. The polytheists will say: ‘If Allah had willed, we would not have ascribed partners (to Him), nor our fathers, nor would we have forbidden anything.’ In the same way, those who were before them had continually rejected (the truth) until they tasted Our punishment. Say: ‘Do you have any (revealed) knowledge that you can produce before us? You follow nothing except (false) assumptions, and you do nothing but lie.’

149. Say: ‘To Allah belongs the conclusive argument. If Allah had wished, He would have surely guided you all.’*

* Allah has distinguished truth from falsehood, explaining the consequences of both. Then, He gives everyone the freedom to choose his way and holds him accountable for his doings in the Hereafter. This freedom makes everyone worthy of reward or liable for punishment according to his deeds.

150. Say: ‘Bring your witnesses who may testify that Allah has forbidden this.’ So if they (falsely) testify, do not testify with them, and do not follow the desires of those who have rejected Our revelations, and those who do not believe in the Hereafter and have set up equals with their Lord.

151. Say: ‘Come! I will recite (to you) what your Lord has forbidden you from. That you should not ascribe anything as a partner to Him; that you should be virtuous to (your) parents; that you should not kill your children fearing poverty—We will provide for you and for them—that you should not come near indecencies, the outward among them or the inward; and that you should not kill any soul that Allah has made inviolable, except through lawful means. That is what He has commanded you so that you may understand.’

152. And do not come near the orphan’s property, except in the best manner, till he reaches maturity; and observe fully the measure and the balance with justice. We do not task a soul beyond its capacity. And when you speak, be just, even if it be (against) a relative, and fulfil the covenant of Allah. That is what He has commanded you, so perhaps you may become mindful (of advice).

153. And indeed, this is My path, perfectly straight—so follow it, and do not follow (other) ways, for they will separate you from His way. That is what He has commanded you, so perhaps you may become God-conscious.

154. Then We gave the Book to Musa (Moses), to complete (Our blessings) upon those who are virtuous, and as an exposition of all things, and as a guide and a mercy, so that they may believe in the meeting with their Lord.

155. And this Book that We have revealed is a blessed one. So follow it and be God-conscious so that you may be shown (His) mercy.

156. Lest you (pagans) say: ‘The Book was revealed only to two communities before us (i.e. the Jews and the Christians), and we were indeed unaware of their teachings.’

157. Or lest you say: ‘If the Book had been revealed to us, we would have been better guided than they.’ Now, manifest proof, guidance, and mercy have come to you from your Lord. So, who is more unjust than he who rejects Allah’s revelations and turns away from them? We shall soon recompense those who turn away from Our revelations with a terrible punishment because of what they used to evade.

158. Are they waiting for the (very) angels to come to them, or your Lord to come (Himself), or some (special) signs of your Lord to come? The day when some (special) signs of your Lord do come, belief shall not benefit any soul that did not believe beforehand and did not earn some goodness in its belief. Say: ‘Wait! We (too) are waiting.’

159. Indeed, those who split up their religion and become sects, you have nothing to do with them. Their case rests only with Allah. Then, He will inform them about what they used to do.

160. Whoever brings a good deed shall receive ten times the like of it, and whoever brings an evil deed shall not be recompensed except the like of it. And they shall not be wronged.

161. Say: ‘Indeed, my Lord has guided me to a straight path, the upright religion, the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham), the man of pure faith. And he was not among the polytheists.’

162. Say: ‘Indeed my prayer, my ritual sacrifices, my life and my death are (all) for Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

163. He has no partner, and that is what I have been commanded (to follow). I am the first of those who submit (to Allah).’

164. Say: ‘Shall I seek a Lord other than Allah, while He is the Lord of everything?’ No soul commits evil but against itself, and no bearer shall bear the burden of another. Then, to your Lord is your (ultimate) return. And He will inform you regarding that over which you used to differ.’

165. He is the One Who made you successors on the earth and raised some of you in ranks above others, so He may test you regarding what He has given you (as a trust). Indeed, your Lord is Swift in retribution. And indeed, He is Most-Forgiving, All-Merciful.

1. Alif, Lam, Mim, Sad.

2. (This is) a Book revealed to you. So, let there be no constriction in your breast on its account (because of the unpleasant response of the disbelievers)—so you may warn (them) with it. And (it is) a Reminder for the believers.

3. (Believers!) Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not follow (the self-proclaimed) guardians besides Him. How seldom do you accept advice?

4. How many towns have We destroyed? Our punishment came upon them at night or while they were taking a midday nap.

5. When Our punishment overtook them, they could say nothing but cry: ‘Indeed we were wrongdoers.’

6. We shall certainly question those to whom the messengers were sent, and We shall surely ask the messengers (too).

7. Then We shall surely relate to them (all their affairs) from (Our) knowledge, for We had never been absent.

8. And the weighing (of deeds) on that Day is true. As for those whose scales (of good deeds) are heavy, they are the ones who shall be prosperous.

9. As for those whose scales (of good deeds) are light, they are the ones who have ruined their souls, for they used to treat Our revelations wrongfully.

10. And We have surely established you on the earth and provided in it (different) means of livelihood for you. How seldom do you give thanks?

11. Indeed, We created you, then We shaped you. Then We said to the angels: ‘Prostrate yourselves before Adam.’ So they (all) prostrated except Iblis. He was not among those who prostrated.

12. He said (to Iblis): ‘What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?’ He said: ‘I am better than him. You created me from fire, while You created him from clay.’

13. He said: ‘Get down from here. It is not for you to be arrogant here. Get out! You are indeed among the disgraced.’

14. He (Iblis) said: ‘Grant me respite until the Day when people will be resurrected.’

15. He (Allah) said: ‘You are indeed among the respited ones.’

16. He (Iblis) said: ‘As You have led me astray, I will surely sit in wait for them on Your straight path.

17. Then I will surely come to them from their front, and from their rear, and from their right, and from their left. And You will not find most of them grateful.’

18. He said: ‘(O Iblis!) Be gone from here, blameful (and) banished. Whoever among them follows you, I shall surely fill Hell with you all.’

19. (Then He said:) ‘O Adam! Live you and your wife in the Garden (i.e. Paradise), and eat from wherever you wish, but do not go near this tree, lest you should be among the wrongdoers.’

20. Then Satan whispered to them to expose to them what was hidden from them of their nakedness. He said: ‘Your Lord has only forbidden you from this tree lest you should become angels, or lest you become among the immortals.’

21. He swore to them both, (saying:) ‘I am indeed your well-wisher.’

22. So he led them on by deception. So when they tasted from the tree, their private parts were exposed to them. And they both began to cover themselves with the leaves of the Garden. Then their Lord called them: ‘Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is indeed an open enemy to you?’

23. They said: ‘Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. And if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we shall surely be among the losers.’

24. He said: ‘Descend! Some of you (will be) enemies of one another. And there will be a residence for you on the earth and a provision for some time.’

25. He said: ‘Therein you shall live, and therein you shall die, and from there you shall be raised (on the Day of Resurrection).’

26. O Children of Adam! We have indeed sent down to you garments to cover your private parts and for adornment. Yet the garment of God-consciousness—that is the best. That is one of Allah’s signs, so perhaps they may become mindful (of advice).

27. O Children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you (too) as he brought your parents out of Paradise, stripping them of their garments to expose their private parts to them. Indeed, he sees you—he and his tribe (members)—from where you cannot see them. Indeed, We have made the satans allies of those who do not believe.

28. Whenever they commit a shameful act, they say: ‘We found our forefathers practising it, and Allah has commanded us to do it.’ Say: ‘Indeed, Allah does not command indecency. Do you attribute to Allah what you do not know?’

29. Say: ‘My Lord commands justice. So set your faces (towards Him) on every occasion (and at every place) of prayer. And worship Him, devoting your obedience sincerely to Him. Just as He originated you, so shall you return (to life again).’

30. A group He has guided, and a group deserves to go astray—they have taken devils as their guardians instead of Allah, and they think they are guided.

31. O Children of Adam! Put on your adornments at every place of worship. And eat and drink (as We have permitted), but do not be excessive (or wasteful). Indeed, Allah does not like the wasteful.

32. Say: ‘Who has forbidden the adornment of Allah that He has produced for His servants and the good things from (His) provision?’ Say: ‘They are (permissible) for the believers in the life of this world, and exclusively (for them) on the Day of Resurrection.’ Thus, We clarify the revelations for people who understand.

33. Say: ‘My Lord has forbidden only indecencies, both the apparent among them and the hidden, sinfulness, unjust aggression and that you should ascribe partners to Allah for which He has not sent down any authority, and that you should attribute to Allah what you do not know.’

34. For each community, there is an appointed term. When their time comes, they shall not delay it by a single hour, nor shall they advance it.

35. O Children of Adam! If messengers come to you from among yourselves, relating to you My revelations, then whoever becomes God-conscious and reforms himself, there shall be no fear on them, nor shall they grieve.

36. As for those who reject Our revelations and look down on them arrogantly, they shall be the inhabitants of the Fire; they shall remain in it forever.

37. Who is more unjust than the one who fabricates a lie against Allah or rejects His revelations? It is they whose portion of (good and evil), as decreed in the Book, shall reach them, until when Our messengers (i.e. the angels of death) come to them to take them away, they will say (to them): ‘Where are those (idols or devils) whom you used to worship (or call upon) besides Allah?’ They will say: ‘They have abandoned us.’ And they will testify against themselves that they were disbelievers.

38. He will say: ‘Enter (into the Fire), along with the communities who have passed away before you, from among the jinn and humans.’ Every time a community enters (the Hellfire), it will curse its sister (community) until they all gather inside. The last of them (i.e. the followers) will say about the first of them (i.e. the leaders): ‘Our Lord! They (i.e. the leaders) are the ones who led us astray, so give them a double punishment of the Fire.’ He will say: ‘It is double for each (of you), but you do not know.’

39. And the first of them (i.e. the leaders) will say to the last of them (i.e. the followers): ‘You cannot have (any) advantage over us. So taste the punishment for what you had been earning.’

40. Indeed, those who reject Our revelations and look down on them arrogantly, the gates of Heaven shall not be opened for them, nor shall they enter Paradise until the camel passes through the eye of a needle. And thus do We recompense the guilty.

41. They shall have Hell for their bed, and there shall be sheets (of fire) over them. And thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.

42. But those who believe and do righteous deeds—We do not task a soul beyond its capacity. It is they who are the inhabitants of Paradise; they shall remain there forever.

43. We will remove whatever rancour lies within their breasts. And rivers will flow beneath them. And they will say: ‘All praise belongs to Allah, Who guided us to this (place). We would never have found the way (to this place) if Allah had not guided us. The messengers of our Lord had certainly brought the truth.’ And a call would be made (to them): ‘This is your Paradise, (which) you have been given as inheritance for what you used to do.’

44. The people of Paradise will call out to the people of Hell: ‘We have indeed found what our Lord had promised us to be true. Have you (also) found what your Lord had promised (you) to be true?’ They will answer: ‘Yes.’ Then a caller will announce among them: ‘The curse of Allah be upon the wrongdoers—

45. those who bar (others) from the way of Allah and seek to make it crooked, and they disbelieve in the Hereafter.’

46. There will be a barrier between them (i.e. Paradise and Hell). And on the Heights (of that barrier) will be some people who will recognise each of them by their marks. They will call out to the people of Paradise: ‘Peace be upon you!’ They will not have entered it, though they would be eagerly hoping so.

47. When their eyes will be turned towards the inmates of the Fire, they will say: ‘Our Lord, do not place us among the wrongdoing people.’

48. And the people of the Heights will call out to certain men whom they will recognise by their marks: ‘Your accumulation of wealth (or being greater in number) did not avail you, nor did your behaving arrogantly.

49. Are these (believers) the ones you swore Allah would not bestow mercy upon?’ (Now these people are being told:) ‘Enter Paradise! You shall have no fear, nor shall you grieve.’

50. The people of Hell will call out to the people of Paradise: ‘Pour on us some water, or (give us) any of the sustenance Allah has granted you.’ They will say: ‘Allah has indeed forbidden both (of these bounties) to the disbelievers,

51. those who took their religion for play and amusement, and whom the life of the world had deceived.’ So today, We forget them, as they forgot the meeting of this Day of theirs, and as they used to deny Our revelations.

52. We have indeed brought them a Book which We have expounded with knowledge, as a guidance and a mercy for a people who believe.

53. Do they wait for anything except the fulfilment of this (warning)? The Day when (the moment of) its fulfilment comes, those who had forgotten it before will say: ‘The messengers of Our Lord had certainly brought the truth. Are there any intercessors for us (now) who can intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back to do other than what we used to do?’ They have surely ruined their souls, and whatever (false beliefs and idols) they used to invent will abandon them.

54. Indeed, your Lord is Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods and then settled (His Might) on the Throne (i.e. enforced His command and power over the universe). He causes the night to cover the day, pursuing it rapidly. And (He created) the sun, moon and stars (all) subjected to His command. Surely, all creation and command belong to Him. Blessed is Allah, the Lord of all worlds.

55. Supplicate your Lord humbly and secretly. Indeed, He does not like the transgressors.

56. Do not cause corruption on the earth after it has been set in order. And supplicate Him with fear and hope. Indeed, Allah’s mercy is close to the virtuously excellent.

57. He is the One Who sends the winds bearing good news before (the showering of) His mercy. When they have gathered up the heavy clouds, We drive them towards a dead land, where We cause rain to fall. Then We bring out with it all kinds of crops. Thus shall We bring out the dead (to life). Perhaps you may be mindful (of advice).

58. As for the fertile land, its vegetation springs out (abundantly) by the will of its Lord. And as for that which is infertile, it does not come out except hardly. Thus do We vary the signs for people who are grateful.

59. Indeed, We sent Nuh (Noah) to his people. So he said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no god besides Him. Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a tremendous Day.’

60. The influential leaders of his people said: ‘Indeed, we see you in clear misguidance.’

61. He said: ‘O my people! I am not misguided. Rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds.

62. I communicate to you the messages of my Lord and advise you sincerely, and I know from Allah what you do not know.

63. Do you find it astonishing that a reminder from your Lord has come to you through a man from among yourselves to warn you so that you may become God-conscious, and perhaps you may be bestowed mercy?’

64. But they rejected him, so We saved him and those with him on the Ark. And drowned those who rejected Our revelations. They were indeed blind people.

65. And to (the people of) ‘Ad, (We sent) their (fellow) brother Hud. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no god besides Him. Will you not then be conscious (of Him)?’

66. The influential leaders of his people who disbelieved said: ‘Indeed we see you are foolish, and indeed we consider you to be among the liars.’

67. He said: ‘O my people! There is no foolishness in me. Rather, I am a messenger from the Lord of all worlds.

68. I communicate to you the messages of my Lord, and I am a trustworthy well-wisher for you.

69. Do you find it astonishing that a reminder from your Lord has come to you through a man from among yourselves to warn you? Remember when He made you successors after the people of Nuh (Noah) and gave you great stature; then remember Allah’s bounties so that you may be prosperous.’

70. They said: ‘Have you come to us (that) we should worship Allah alone, and give up what our fathers have been worshipping? Then bring us what you threaten us with if you are among the truthful.’

71. He said: ‘‘The punishment and wrath of your Lord have already become due against you. Do you dispute with me regarding the names (of idols) that you have named—you and your forefathers, for which Allah has not sent down any authority? So wait! I am also waiting along with you.’

72. Then We saved him and those with him by a mercy from Us and cut off the last (remnants) of those who rejected Our revelations. And they would never have believed.

73. And to (the people of) Thamud, We (sent) their (fellow) brother Salih. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no god besides Him. A clear proof has come to you from your Lord. This She-camel of Allah is (sent) as a sign for you. So leave her to graze freely in Allah’s land. And do not cause her any harm, for then a painful punishment will seize you.

74. Remember when He made you successors after (the people of) ‘Ad and settled you in the land. You built castles on its open plains and carved houses out of the mountains. So remember Allah’s bounties, and do not behave wickedly in the land, causing corruption.’

75. The influential leaders of his people, who were arrogant, said to the abased, who believed among them: ‘Do you honestly think that Salih has been sent by his Lord?’ They said: ‘Surely we believe in what he has been sent with.’

76. The arrogant said: ‘Indeed, we are strong deniers of what you believe in.’

77. So they slew the She-camel and revolted against the command of their Lord. Then they said: ‘O Salih! Bring us what you threaten us with if you are among the messengers.’

78. Then the earthquake overtook them, and by the following morning, they were lying dead in their homes.

79. So he (Salih) turned away from them and said: ‘O my people! I indeed conveyed to you the message of my Lord and advised you sincerely, but you do not like well-wishing mentors.’

80. And (likewise, We sent) Lut (Lot) when he said to his people: ‘What! Do you practise a shameful act of indecency such as none in the world has ever committed before you?

81. Surely, you come to males with sexual desire instead of females. Indeed, you are a people who transgress all bounds!’

82. But the answer of his people was none other than to say: ‘Expel them from your town. They are a people who seek to keep themselves pure and chaste.’

83. So We saved him (Lot) and his family (and his followers)—except his wife; she was among those who stayed behind.

84. Then We poured upon them a rain (of stones). So observe how (disastrous) was the end of the evildoers!

85. And to the people of Madyan ([Midian], We sent) their (fellow) brother Shu‘ayb. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no god besides Him. A clear proof has surely come to you from your Lord. So observe fully the measure and the balance, and do not undervalue the goods of the people. And do not cause corruption in the land after it has been set in order. That is better for you if you are (true) believers.

86. And do not lie in ambush on every path, frightening and hindering those who believe in Him from the way of Allah, seeking to make it crooked. And remember when you were few, and then He multiplied you. And observe how (disastrous) was the end of the corruptors.

87. If a group among you have believed in what I have been sent with, and another group have not believed, then be patient till Allah judges between us, and He is the best of judges.’
