What is the period of widow's' iddah?

وَ الَّذِیۡنَ یُتَوَفَّوۡنَ مِنۡکُمۡ وَ یَذَرُوۡنَ اَزۡوَاجًا یَّتَرَبَّصۡنَ بِاَنۡفُسِہِنَّ اَرۡبَعَۃَ اَشۡہُرٍ وَّ عَشۡرًا ۚ فَاِذَا بَلَغۡنَ اَجَلَہُنَّ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ فِیۡمَا فَعَلۡنَ فِیۡۤ اَنۡفُسِہِنَّ بِالۡمَعۡرُوۡفِ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ خَبِیۡرٌ ﴿۲۳۴﴾

234. اور تم میں سے جو فوت ہو جائیں اور (اپنی) بیویاں چھوڑ جائیں تو وہ اپنے آپ کو چار ماہ دس دن انتظار میں روکے رکھیں، پھر جب وہ اپنی عدت (پوری ہونے) کو آپہنچیں تو پھر جو کچھ وہ شرعی دستور کے مطابق اپنے حق میں کریں تم پر اس معاملے میں کوئی مؤاخذہ نہیں، اور جو کچھ تم کرتے ہو اللہ اس سے اچھی طرح خبردار ہےo

234. As for those among you who die leaving widows behind, they (i.e. the widows) shall wait by themselves for four months and ten days (after their husband’s death). When they have reached the end of their waiting period, you are not accountable for what they reasonably decide for themselves. Allah is All-Knowing of what you do.
