In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the All-Merciful
وَّ اَنِ اسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡا رَبَّکُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوۡبُوۡۤا اِلَیۡہِ یُمَتِّعۡکُمۡ مَّتَاعًا حَسَنًا اِلٰۤی اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّی وَّ یُؤۡتِ کُلَّ ذِیۡ فَضۡلٍ فَضۡلَہٗ ؕ وَ اِنۡ تَوَلَّوۡا فَاِنِّیۡۤ اَخَافُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ کَبِیۡرٍ ﴿۳﴾
3. And (ask them to) seek forgiveness from your Lord, then turn to Him in repentance. He will grant you generous provision until an appointed time and grant His grace to every gracious person. But if you turn away, I fear the punishment of a terrible Day for you.
وأن استغفروا ربكم ثم توبوا إليه يمتعكم متاعا حسنا إلى أجل مسمى ويؤت كل ذي فضل فضله وإن تولوا فإني أخاف عليكم عذاب يوم كبير
(هُوْد، 11 : 3)
اَلَاۤ اِنَّہُمۡ یَثۡنُوۡنَ صُدُوۡرَہُمۡ لِیَسۡتَخۡفُوۡا مِنۡہُ ؕ اَلَا حِیۡنَ یَسۡتَغۡشُوۡنَ ثِیَابَہُمۡ ۙ یَعۡلَمُ مَا یُسِرُّوۡنَ وَ مَا یُعۡلِنُوۡنَ ۚ اِنَّہٗ عَلِیۡمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوۡرِ ﴿۵﴾
5. Indeed, they fold up their breasts to hide (their secrets) from Him. Behold! When they cover themselves with their garments, He knows whatever they conceal and whatever they reveal. Indeed, He is All-Knowing of whatever lies within the breasts.
ألا إنهم يثنون صدورهم ليستخفوا منه ألا حين يستغشون ثيابهم يعلم ما يسرون وما يعلنون إنه عليم بذات الصدور
(هُوْد، 11 : 5)
وَ مَا مِنۡ دَآبَّۃٍ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ اِلَّا عَلَی اللّٰہِ رِزۡقُہَا وَ یَعۡلَمُ مُسۡتَقَرَّہَا وَ مُسۡتَوۡدَعَہَا ؕ کُلٌّ فِیۡ کِتٰبٍ مُّبِیۡنٍ ﴿۶﴾
6. There is no moving creature on the earth, but its sustenance lies with Allah. He knows its dwelling place and its (final) resting place. Everything is (recorded) in a manifest Book.
وما من دآبة في الأرض إلا على الله رزقها ويعلم مستقرها ومستودعها كل في كتاب مبين
(هُوْد، 11 : 6)
وَ ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضَ فِیۡ سِتَّۃِ اَیَّامٍ وَّ کَانَ عَرۡشُہٗ عَلَی الۡمَآءِ لِیَبۡلُوَکُمۡ اَیُّکُمۡ اَحۡسَنُ عَمَلًا ؕ وَ لَئِنۡ قُلۡتَ اِنَّکُمۡ مَّبۡعُوۡثُوۡنَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ الۡمَوۡتِ لَیَقُوۡلَنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡۤا اِنۡ ہٰذَاۤ اِلَّا سِحۡرٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ ﴿۷﴾
7. He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six periods, while His Throne was upon the waters—that He may test you which of you is best in conduct. Yet (O Prophet), if you say (to them): ‘You will be resurrected after death’, the disbelievers will surely say: ‘This is nothing but clear magic.’
وهو الذي خلق السماوات والأرض في ستة أيام وكان عرشه على الماء ليبلوكم أيكم أحسن عملا ولئن قلت إنكم مبعوثون من بعد الموت ليقولن الذين كفروا إن هـذا إلا سحر مبين
(هُوْد، 11 : 7)
وَ لَئِنۡ اَخَّرۡنَا عَنۡہُمُ الۡعَذَابَ اِلٰۤی اُمَّۃٍ مَّعۡدُوۡدَۃٍ لَّیَقُوۡلُنَّ مَا یَحۡبِسُہٗ ؕ اَلَا یَوۡمَ یَاۡتِیۡہِمۡ لَیۡسَ مَصۡرُوۡفًا عَنۡہُمۡ وَ حَاقَ بِہِمۡ مَّا کَانُوۡا بِہٖ یَسۡتَہۡزِءُوۡنَ ٪﴿۸﴾
8. If We defer their punishment until a determined time, they will surely say: ‘What is holding it back?’ Beware! The Day it comes upon them shall not be averted from them. And whatever they used to ridicule will besiege them.
ولئن أخرنا عنهم العذاب إلى أمة معدودة ليقولن ما يحبسه ألا يوم يأتيهم ليس مصروفا عنهم وحاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزؤون
(هُوْد، 11 : 8)
وَ لَئِنۡ اَذَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنَّا رَحۡمَۃً ثُمَّ نَزَعۡنٰہَا مِنۡہُ ۚ اِنَّہٗ لَیَـُٔوۡسٌ کَفُوۡرٌ ﴿۹﴾
9. If We cause human being to taste mercy from Us, and then We withdraw it from him, he surely becomes desperate (and) ungrateful.
ولئن أذقنا الإنسان منا رحمة ثم نزعناها منه إنه ليئوس كفور
(هُوْد، 11 : 9)
وَ لَئِنۡ اَذَقۡنٰہُ نَعۡمَآءَ بَعۡدَ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتۡہُ لَیَقُوۡلَنَّ ذَہَبَ السَّیِّاٰتُ عَنِّیۡ ؕ اِنَّہٗ لَفَرِحٌ فَخُوۡرٌ ﴿ۙ۱۰﴾
10. And if We cause him to taste (Our) blessings after adversity has afflicted him, he will surely say: ‘All misfortunes have left me.’ He surely becomes exultant (and) boastful,
ولئن أذقناه نعماء بعد ضراء مسته ليقولن ذهب السيئات عني إنه لفرح فخور
(هُوْد، 11 : 10)
اِلَّا الَّذِیۡنَ صَبَرُوۡا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ ؕ اُولٰٓئِکَ لَہُمۡ مَّغۡفِرَۃٌ وَّ اَجۡرٌ کَبِیۡرٌ ﴿۱۱﴾
11. except those who are patient and perform righteous deeds. For such, there shall be forgiveness and a great reward.
إلا الذين صبروا وعملوا الصالحات أولـئك لهم مغفرة وأجر كبير
(هُوْد، 11 : 11)
فَلَعَلَّکَ تَارِکٌۢ بَعۡضَ مَا یُوۡحٰۤی اِلَیۡکَ وَ ضَآئِقٌۢ بِہٖ صَدۡرُکَ اَنۡ یَّقُوۡلُوۡا لَوۡ لَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ عَلَیۡہِ کَنۡزٌ اَوۡ جَآءَ مَعَہٗ مَلَکٌ ؕ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنۡتَ نَذِیۡرٌ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ وَّکِیۡلٌ ﴿ؕ۱۲﴾
12. How can it be possible that (on the disbelievers’ ridiculous demand) you will abandon some part of what is revealed to you and let your heart be constrained because they say: ‘Why is no treasure sent down to him, or why has no angel come down with him?’ (Tell them that) you are only a warner, and Allah is the Guardian over everything.
فلعلك تارك بعض ما يوحى إليك وضآئق به صدرك أن يقولوا لولا أنزل عليه كـنـز أو جاء معه ملك إنما أنت نذير والله على كل شيء وكيل
(هُوْد، 11 : 12)
اَمۡ یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ افۡتَرٰىہُ ؕ قُلۡ فَاۡتُوۡا بِعَشۡرِ سُوَرٍ مِّثۡلِہٖ مُفۡتَرَیٰتٍ وَّ ادۡعُوۡا مَنِ اسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِیۡنَ ﴿۱۳﴾
13. Do they say: ‘He has fabricated it?’ Say: ‘Then produce ten fabricated chapters like it. And call upon whomsoever you can—other than Allah, if you are truthful.’
أم يقولون افتراه قل فأتوا بعشر سور مثله مفتريات وادعوا من استطعتم من دون الله إن كنتم صادقين
(هُوْد، 11 : 13)
فَاِلَّمۡ یَسۡتَجِیۡبُوۡا لَکُمۡ فَاعۡلَمُوۡۤا اَنَّمَاۤ اُنۡزِلَ بِعِلۡمِ اللّٰہِ وَ اَنۡ لَّاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ۚ فَہَلۡ اَنۡتُمۡ مُّسۡلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۱۴﴾
14. But (O believers!) if they do not answer you, then you should know that it has been revealed with Allah’s Knowledge and that there is no god except Him. So will you then submit (to Allah)?
فإن لم يستجيبوا لكم فاعلموا أنما أنزل بعلم الله وأن لا إلـه إلا هو فهل أنتم مسلمون
(هُوْد، 11 : 14)
مَنۡ کَانَ یُرِیۡدُ الۡحَیٰوۃَ الدُّنۡیَا وَ زِیۡنَتَہَا نُوَفِّ اِلَیۡہِمۡ اَعۡمَالَہُمۡ فِیۡہَا وَ ہُمۡ فِیۡہَا لَا یُبۡخَسُوۡنَ ﴿۱۵﴾
15. Whosoever desires the life of this world and its luxury, We shall pay them in full for their deeds therein, and they will not be underpaid in this (world).
من كان يريد الحياة الدنيا وزينتها نوف إليهم أعمالهم فيها وهم فيها لا يبخسون
(هُوْد، 11 : 15)
اُولٰٓئِکَ الَّذِیۡنَ لَیۡسَ لَہُمۡ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ اِلَّا النَّارُ ۫ۖ وَ حَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوۡا فِیۡہَا وَ بٰطِلٌ مَّا کَانُوۡا یَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۱۶﴾
16. They are the ones for whom there shall be nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire. And whatever they accomplished in this world would be fruitless (in the Hereafter), and whatever they used to do would be void.
أولـئك الذين ليس لهم في الآخرة إلا النار وحبط ما صنعوا فيها وباطل ما كانوا يعملون
(هُوْد، 11 : 16)
اَفَمَنۡ کَانَ عَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّہٖ وَ یَتۡلُوۡہُ شَاہِدٌ مِّنۡہُ وَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہٖ کِتٰبُ مُوۡسٰۤی اِمَامًا وَّ رَحۡمَۃً ؕ اُولٰٓئِکَ یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِہٖ ؕ وَ مَنۡ یَّکۡفُرۡ بِہٖ مِنَ الۡاَحۡزَابِ فَالنَّارُ مَوۡعِدُہٗ ۚ فَلَا تَکُ فِیۡ مِرۡیَۃٍ مِّنۡہُ ٭ اِنَّہُ الۡحَقُّ مِنۡ رَّبِّکَ وَ لٰکِنَّ اَکۡثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ ﴿۱۷﴾
17. The one who stands upon a clear proof from his Lord, and a witness (i.e. the Qur’an) has come from Him (in his support)? And before him, the Book of Musa (Moses had also come), as a guide and mercy. It is those who believe in it (i.e. the Qur’an), and the one who disbelieves in it from among the groups, and the Fire will be his destiny (can both be equal in comparison)? So do not be in doubt about it. Verily, it is the truth from your Lord, but most people do not believe.
أفمن كان على بينة من ربه ويتلوه شاهد منه ومن قبله كتاب موسى إماما ورحمة أولـئك يؤمنون به ومن يكفر به من الأحزاب فالنار موعده فلا تك في مرية منه إنه الحق من ربك ولـكن أكثر الناس لا يؤمنون
(هُوْد، 11 : 17)
وَ مَنۡ اَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ افۡتَرٰی عَلَی اللّٰہِ کَذِبًا ؕ اُولٰٓئِکَ یُعۡرَضُوۡنَ عَلٰی رَبِّہِمۡ وَ یَقُوۡلُ الۡاَشۡہَادُ ہٰۤؤُلَآءِ الَّذِیۡنَ کَذَبُوۡا عَلٰی رَبِّہِمۡ ۚ اَلَا لَعۡنَۃُ اللّٰہِ عَلَی الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۱۸﴾
18. Who is more unjust than him who fabricates a lie against Allah? They shall be presented before their Lord, and the witnesses will say: ‘These are the ones who lied against their Lord.’ Now, surely the curse of Allah is upon the unjust.
ومن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا أولـئك يعرضون على ربهم ويقول الأشهاد هـؤلاء الذين كذبوا على ربهم ألا لعنة الله على الظالمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 18)
الَّذِیۡنَ یَصُدُّوۡنَ عَنۡ سَبِیۡلِ اللّٰہِ وَ یَبۡغُوۡنَہَا عِوَجًا ؕ وَ ہُمۡ بِالۡاٰخِرَۃِ ہُمۡ کٰفِرُوۡنَ ﴿۱۹﴾
19. Those who turn away from the path of Allah and try to make it crooked—it is they who deny the Hereafter.
الذين يصدون عن سبيل الله ويبغونها عوجا وهم بالآخرة هم كافرون
(هُوْد، 11 : 19)
اُولٰٓئِکَ لَمۡ یَکُوۡنُوۡا مُعۡجِزِیۡنَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ مَا کَانَ لَہُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ مِنۡ اَوۡلِیَآءَ ۘ یُضٰعَفُ لَہُمُ الۡعَذَابُ ؕ مَا کَانُوۡا یَسۡتَطِیۡعُوۡنَ السَّمۡعَ وَ مَا کَانُوۡا یُبۡصِرُوۡنَ ﴿۲۰﴾
20. They shall never be able to escape on the earth, nor shall they have helpers besides Allah. The punishment will be multiplied for them, for they could neither listen nor did they use to see.
أولـئك لم يكونوا معجزين في الأرض وما كان لهم من دون الله من أولياء يضاعف لهم العذاب ما كانوا يستطيعون السمع وما كانوا يبصرون
(هُوْد، 11 : 20)
اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَ اَخۡبَتُوۡۤا اِلٰی رَبِّہِمۡ ۙ اُولٰٓئِکَ اَصۡحٰبُ الۡجَنَّۃِ ۚ ہُمۡ فِیۡہَا خٰلِدُوۡنَ ﴿۲۳﴾
23. Indeed, those who believe, perform righteous deeds and are humble before their Lord—they shall be the residents of Paradise (and) they shall remain in it forever.
إن الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات وأخبتوا إلى ربهم أولـئك أصحاب الجنة هم فيها خالدون
(هُوْد، 11 : 23)
مَثَلُ الۡفَرِیۡقَیۡنِ کَالۡاَعۡمٰی وَ الۡاَصَمِّ وَ الۡبَصِیۡرِ وَ السَّمِیۡعِ ؕ ہَلۡ یَسۡتَوِیٰنِ مَثَلًا ؕ اَفَلَا تَذَکَّرُوۡنَ ﴿٪۲۴﴾
24. The example of two groups is like that of one blind and deaf, and the other seeing and hearing—can they be equal in comparison? Will you not then be mindful of advice?
مثل الفريقين كالأعمى والأصم والبصـيـر والسميع هل يستويان مثلا أفلا تذكرون
(هُوْد، 11 : 24)
فَقَالَ الۡمَلَاُ الَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ قَوۡمِہٖ مَا نَرٰىکَ اِلَّا بَشَرًا مِّثۡلَنَا وَ مَا نَرٰىکَ اتَّبَعَکَ اِلَّا الَّذِیۡنَ ہُمۡ اَرَاذِلُنَا بَادِیَ الرَّاۡیِ ۚ وَ مَا نَرٰی لَکُمۡ عَلَیۡنَا مِنۡ فَضۡلٍۭ بَلۡ نَظُنُّکُمۡ کٰذِبِیۡنَ ﴿۲۷﴾
27. But the influential disbelievers among his people said: ‘We do not consider you but a human being like us. And we do not see anyone following you except those who are the most ignoble among us, as is clear to find. And we do not see you having any merit over us. Instead, we think that you are liars.’
فقال الملأ الذين كفروا من قومه ما نراك إلا بشرا مثلنا وما نراك اتبعك إلا الذين هم أراذلنا بادي الرأي وما نرى لكم علينا من فضل بل نظنكم كاذبين
(هُوْد، 11 : 27)
قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اَرَءَیۡتُمۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُ عَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّیۡ وَ اٰتٰىنِیۡ رَحۡمَۃً مِّنۡ عِنۡدِہٖ فَعُمِّیَتۡ عَلَیۡکُمۡ ؕ اَنُلۡزِمُکُمُوۡہَا وَ اَنۡتُمۡ لَہَا کٰرِہُوۡنَ ﴿۲۸﴾
28. He said: ‘O my people! Tell me: If I stand upon a clear proof from my Lord, and He has granted me mercy from Himself, and it has been made invisible to you, shall we force it upon you while you are unwilling to accept it?
قال يا قوم أرأيتم إن كنت على بينة من ربي وآتاني رحمة من عنده فعميت عليكم أنلزمكموها وأنتم لها كارهون
(هُوْد، 11 : 28)
وَ یٰقَوۡمِ لَاۤ اَسۡئَلُکُمۡ عَلَیۡہِ مَالًا ؕ اِنۡ اَجۡرِیَ اِلَّا عَلَی اللّٰہِ وَ مَاۤ اَنَا بِطَارِدِ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا ؕ اِنَّہُمۡ مُّلٰقُوۡا رَبِّہِمۡ وَ لٰکِنِّیۡۤ اَرٰىکُمۡ قَوۡمًا تَجۡہَلُوۡنَ ﴿۲۹﴾
29. And, O my people, I do not ask you any wealth in return for it. My reward lies only with Allah. And I will not drive away those (poor) who believe. They are surely going to meet their Lord. But I see that you are a people acting ignorantly.
ويا قوم لا أسألكم عليه مالا إن أجري إلا على الله ومآ أنا بطارد الذين آمنوا إنهم ملاقوا ربهم ولـكني أراكم قوما تجهلون
(هُوْد، 11 : 29)
وَ لَاۤ اَقُوۡلُ لَکُمۡ عِنۡدِیۡ خَزَآئِنُ اللّٰہِ وَ لَاۤ اَعۡلَمُ الۡغَیۡبَ وَ لَاۤ اَقُوۡلُ اِنِّیۡ مَلَکٌ وَّ لَاۤ اَقُوۡلُ لِلَّذِیۡنَ تَزۡدَرِیۡۤ اَعۡیُنُکُمۡ لَنۡ یُّؤۡتِیَہُمُ اللّٰہُ خَیۡرًا ؕ اَللّٰہُ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَا فِیۡۤ اَنۡفُسِہِمۡ ۚۖ اِنِّیۡۤ اِذًا لَّمِنَ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۳۱﴾
31. And I do not say to you that I possess the treasures of Allah, neither do I know the Unseen (of my own accord), nor do I say that I am an angel, nor do I say about those upon whom your eyes look down lowly that Allah will never grant them goodness. Allah knows best what is in their hearts. (If I say this,) for then, most surely, I should be among the unjust.’
ولا أقول لكم عندي خزآئن الله ولا أعلم الغيب ولا أقول إني ملك ولا أقول للذين تزدري أعينكم لن يؤتيهم الله خيرا الله أعلم بما في أنفسهم إني إذا لمن الظالمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 31)
قَالُوۡا یٰنُوۡحُ قَدۡ جٰدَلۡتَنَا فَاَکۡثَرۡتَ جِدَالَنَا فَاۡتِنَا بِمَا تَعِدُنَاۤ اِنۡ کُنۡتَ مِنَ الصّٰدِقِیۡنَ ﴿۳۲﴾
32. They said: ‘O Nuh (Noah), you have disputed with us (already) and have disputed with us for too long. So bring us (the punishment) that you have threatened us with if you are among the truthful.’
قالوا يا نوح قد جادلتنا فأكثرت جدالنا فأتنا بما تعدنا إن كنت من الصادقين
(هُوْد، 11 : 32)
وَ لَا یَنۡفَعُکُمۡ نُصۡحِیۡۤ اِنۡ اَرَدۡتُّ اَنۡ اَنۡصَحَ لَکُمۡ اِنۡ کَانَ اللّٰہُ یُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ یُّغۡوِیَکُمۡ ؕ ہُوَ رَبُّکُمۡ ۟ وَ اِلَیۡہِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۳۴﴾
34. My sincere advice will not benefit you, no matter how sincerely I advise you, while Allah intends to leave you to stray. He is your Lord, and to Him, you shall be brought back.’
ولا ينفعكم نصحي إن أردت أن أنصح لكم إن كان الله يريد أن يغويكم هو ربكم وإليه ترجعون
(هُوْد، 11 : 34)
اَمۡ یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ افۡتَرٰىہُ ؕ قُلۡ اِنِ افۡتَرَیۡتُہٗ فَعَلَیَّ اِجۡرَامِیۡ وَ اَنَا بَرِیۡٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُجۡرِمُوۡنَ ﴿٪۳۵﴾
35. Do they say: ‘He has fabricated it?’ Say: ‘If I have fabricated it, then my guilt will be upon me. But I am clear of the wrongs you commit.’
أم يقولون افتراه قل إن افتريته فعلي إجرامي وأنا بريء مما تجرمون
(هُوْد، 11 : 35)
وَ اُوۡحِیَ اِلٰی نُوۡحٍ اَنَّہٗ لَنۡ یُّؤۡمِنَ مِنۡ قَوۡمِکَ اِلَّا مَنۡ قَدۡ اٰمَنَ فَلَا تَبۡتَئِسۡ بِمَا کَانُوۡا یَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ﴿ۚۖ۳۶﴾
36. It was revealed to Nuh (Noah): ‘None of your people will believe except those who have already believed. So do not grieve for what they used to do.
وأوحي إلى نوح أنه لن يؤمن من قومك إلا من قد آمن فلا تبتئس بما كانوا يفعلون
(هُوْد، 11 : 36)
وَ اصۡنَعِ الۡفُلۡکَ بِاَعۡیُنِنَا وَ وَحۡیِنَا وَ لَا تُخَاطِبۡنِیۡ فِی الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا ۚ اِنَّہُمۡ مُّغۡرَقُوۡنَ ﴿۳۷﴾
37. And make the Ark under Our (watchful) Eyes and by Our revelation, and do not plead with Me for those who are wrongdoers. Indeed, they shall be drowned?’
واصنع الفلك بأعيننا ووحينا ولا تخاطبني في الذين ظلموا إنهم مغرقون
(هُوْد، 11 : 37)
وَ یَصۡنَعُ الۡفُلۡکَ ۟ وَ کُلَّمَا مَرَّ عَلَیۡہِ مَلَاٌ مِّنۡ قَوۡمِہٖ سَخِرُوۡا مِنۡہُ ؕ قَالَ اِنۡ تَسۡخَرُوۡا مِنَّا فَاِنَّا نَسۡخَرُ مِنۡکُمۡ کَمَا تَسۡخَرُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۳۸﴾
38. So he set himself to build the Ark, and whenever the notables of his people passed by him, they would ridicule him. He said: ‘If you ridicule us (today), we shall ridicule you (tomorrow) just as you are ridiculing (us now).
ويصنع الفلك وكلما مر عليه ملأ من قومه سخروا منه قال إن تسخروا منا فإنا نسخر منكم كما تسخرون
(هُوْد، 11 : 38)
فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۙ مَنۡ یَّاۡتِیۡہِ عَذَابٌ یُّخۡزِیۡہِ وَ یَحِلُّ عَلَیۡہِ عَذَابٌ مُّقِیۡمٌ ﴿۳۹﴾
39. Soon you shall know whom the punishment that will disgrace him will overtake, and upon whom an everlasting punishment will descend.’
فسوف تعلمون من يأتيه عذاب يخزيه ويحل عليه عذاب مقيم
(هُوْد، 11 : 39)
حَتّٰۤی اِذَا جَآءَ اَمۡرُنَا وَ فَارَ التَّنُّوۡرُ ۙ قُلۡنَا احۡمِلۡ فِیۡہَا مِنۡ کُلٍّ زَوۡجَیۡنِ اثۡنَیۡنِ وَ اَہۡلَکَ اِلَّا مَنۡ سَبَقَ عَلَیۡہِ الۡقَوۡلُ وَ مَنۡ اٰمَنَ ؕ وَ مَاۤ اٰمَنَ مَعَہٗۤ اِلَّا قَلِیۡلٌ ﴿۴۰﴾
40. Till when Our command came, and the oven gushed up (a stream of water), We said: ‘Carry in it a pair of every kind (of bird and animal), along with your family—except those against whom the decree (to drown) has already been given—and those who have believed.’ And none believed along with him but a few.
حتى إذا جاء أمرنا وفار التنور قلنا احمل فيها من كل زوجين اثنين وأهلك إلا من سبق عليه القول ومن آمن وما آمن معه إلا قليل
(هُوْد، 11 : 40)
وَ قَالَ ارۡکَبُوۡا فِیۡہَا بِسۡمِ اللّٰہِ مَجۡؔرٖىہَا وَ مُرۡسٰىہَا ؕ اِنَّ رَبِّیۡ لَغَفُوۡرٌ رَّحِیۡمٌ ﴿۴۱﴾
41. And he said: ‘Embark on it—in the Name of Allah be its sailing and its anchoring. Indeed, my Lord is Most-Forgiving, All-Merciful.’
وقال اركبوا فيها بسم الله مجرےها ومرساها إن ربي لغفور رحيم
(هُوْد، 11 : 41)
وَ ہِیَ تَجۡرِیۡ بِہِمۡ فِیۡ مَوۡجٍ کَالۡجِبَالِ ۟ وَ نَادٰی نُوۡحُۨ ابۡنَہٗ وَ کَانَ فِیۡ مَعۡزِلٍ یّٰـبُنَیَّ ارۡکَبۡ مَّعَنَا وَ لَا تَکُنۡ مَّعَ الۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ ﴿۴۲﴾
42. And it sailed with them through waves (rising) like mountains. And Nuh (Noah) called out to his son, who stood aloof: ‘O my son! Board with us, and do not be with the disbelievers.’
وهي تجري بهم في موج كالجبال ونادى نوح ابنه وكان في معزل يا بني اركب معنا ولا تكن مع الكافرين
(هُوْد، 11 : 42)
قَالَ سَاٰوِیۡۤ اِلٰی جَبَلٍ یَّعۡصِمُنِیۡ مِنَ الۡمَآءِ ؕ قَالَ لَا عَاصِمَ الۡیَوۡمَ مِنۡ اَمۡرِ اللّٰہِ اِلَّا مَنۡ رَّحِمَ ۚ وَ حَالَ بَیۡنَہُمَا الۡمَوۡجُ فَکَانَ مِنَ الۡمُغۡرَقِیۡنَ ﴿۴۳﴾
43. He said: ‘I will take refuge on a mountain; it will protect me from the flood.’ He said: ‘There is no protector today from Allah’s punishment, except someone upon whom He has mercy.’ Then the waves came between them, and he was among the drowned.
قال سآوي إلى جبل يعصمني من الماء قال لا عاصم اليوم من أمر الله إلا من رحم وحال بينهما الموج فكان من المغرقين
(هُوْد، 11 : 43)
وَ قِیۡلَ یٰۤاَرۡضُ ابۡلَعِیۡ مَآءَکِ وَ یٰسَمَآءُ اَقۡلِعِیۡ وَ غِیۡضَ الۡمَآءُ وَ قُضِیَ الۡاَمۡرُ وَ اسۡتَوَتۡ عَلَی الۡجُوۡدِیِّ وَ قِیۡلَ بُعۡدًا لِّلۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۴۴﴾
44. (When all the disbelievers drowned,) then it was said: ‘O earth, swallow your water! O sky, hold back (from raining)!’ The flood water was made to recede, the command was fulfilled, and it (i.e. the Ark) settled on (Mount) Judi. Then it was said: ‘Away with the wrongdoing people!’
وقيل يا أرض ابلعي ماءك ويا سماء أقلعي وغيض الماء وقضي الأمر واستوت على الجودي وقيل بعدا للقوم الظالمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 44)
وَ نَادٰی نُوۡحٌ رَّبَّہٗ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنَّ ابۡنِیۡ مِنۡ اَہۡلِیۡ وَ اِنَّ وَعۡدَکَ الۡحَقُّ وَ اَنۡتَ اَحۡکَمُ الۡحٰکِمِیۡنَ ﴿۴۵﴾
45. And Nuh (Noah) called out to his Lord and said: ‘My Lord, indeed my son (too) was from my family, and Your promise is surely true, and You are the most just of all judges. (Then what happened to him?)’
ونادى نوح ربه فقال رب إن ابني من أهلي وإن وعدك الحق وأنت أحكم الحاكمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 45)
قَالَ یٰنُوۡحُ اِنَّہٗ لَیۡسَ مِنۡ اَہۡلِکَ ۚ اِنَّہٗ عَمَلٌ غَیۡرُ صَالِحٍ ٭۫ۖ فَلَا تَسۡـَٔلۡنِ مَا لَـیۡسَ لَکَ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ ؕ اِنِّیۡۤ اَعِظُکَ اَنۡ تَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡجٰہِلِیۡنَ ﴿۴۶﴾
46. He said: ‘Nuh (Noah)! Indeed, he was not from your family; he had entirely unrighteous conduct. So, do not question Me about things you do not know. I advise you lest you may be among the ignorant.’
قال يا نوح إنه ليس من أهلك إنه عمل غير صالح فلا تسألن ما ليس لك به علم إني أعظك أن تكون من الجاهلين
(هُوْد، 11 : 46)
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡۤ اَعُوۡذُ بِکَ اَنۡ اَسۡـَٔلَکَ مَا لَـیۡسَ لِیۡ بِہٖ عِلۡمٌ ؕ وَ اِلَّا تَغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ وَ تَرۡحَمۡنِیۡۤ اَکُنۡ مِّنَ الۡخٰسِرِیۡنَ ﴿۴۷﴾
47. He said: ‘My Lord! I seek Your protection from questioning You about something I do not know. And if You do not forgive me and have mercy upon me, I shall be among the losers.’
قال رب إني أعوذ بك أن أسألك ما ليس لي به علم وإلا تغفر لي وترحمني أكن من الخاسرين
(هُوْد، 11 : 47)
قِیۡلَ یٰنُوۡحُ اہۡبِطۡ بِسَلٰمٍ مِّنَّا وَ بَرَکٰتٍ عَلَیۡکَ وَ عَلٰۤی اُمَمٍ مِّمَّنۡ مَّعَکَ ؕ وَ اُمَمٌ سَنُمَتِّعُہُمۡ ثُمَّ یَمَسُّہُمۡ مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ اَلِیۡمٌ ﴿۴۸﴾
48. It was said: ‘O Nuh (Noah)! Disembark with peace from Us and blessings upon you and the communities (that will arise) from those with you. And there shall be communities (afterwards) whom We will grant provision, then a painful punishment from Us shall befall them.’
قيل يا نوح اهبط بسلام منا وبركات عليك وعلى أمم ممن معك وأمم سنمتعهم ثم يمسهم منا عذاب أليم
(هُوْد، 11 : 48)
تِلۡکَ مِنۡ اَنۡۢبَآءِ الۡغَیۡبِ نُوۡحِیۡہَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ ۚ مَا کُنۡتَ تَعۡلَمُہَاۤ اَنۡتَ وَ لَا قَوۡمُکَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِ ہٰذَا ؕۛ فَاصۡبِرۡ ؕۛ اِنَّ الۡعَاقِبَۃَ لِلۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ ﴿٪۴۹﴾
49. These are the accounts of the Unseen which We reveal to you. Neither you knew them nor your people before this (revelation). So be patient. Indeed, the ultimate end belongs to the God-conscious.
تلك من أنباء الغيب نوحيها إليك ما كنت تعلمها أنت ولا قومك من قبل هـذا فاصبر إن العاقبة للمتقين
(هُوْد، 11 : 49)
وَ اِلٰی عَادٍ اَخَاہُمۡ ہُوۡدًا ؕ قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰہَ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰہٍ غَیۡرُہٗ ؕ اِنۡ اَنۡتُمۡ اِلَّا مُفۡتَرُوۡنَ ﴿۵۰﴾
50. And to (the people of) ‘Ad, (We sent) their (fellow) brother Hud. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. You are nothing but fabricators (of lies).
وإلى عاد أخاهم هودا قال يا قوم اعبدوا الله ما لكم من إلـه غيره إن أنتم إلا مفترون
(هُوْد، 11 : 50)
یٰقَوۡمِ لَاۤ اَسۡـَٔلُکُمۡ عَلَیۡہِ اَجۡرًا ؕ اِنۡ اَجۡرِیَ اِلَّا عَلَی الَّذِیۡ فَطَرَنِیۡ ؕ اَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ ﴿۵۱﴾
51. O my people! I do not ask for any reward from you. My reward lies only with Him Who originated me. Do you not understand?
يا قوم لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إن أجري إلا على الذي فطرني أفلا تعقلون
(هُوْد، 11 : 51)
وَ یٰقَوۡمِ اسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡا رَبَّکُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوۡبُوۡۤا اِلَیۡہِ یُرۡسِلِ السَّمَآءَ عَلَیۡکُمۡ مِّدۡرَارًا وَّ یَزِدۡکُمۡ قُوَّۃً اِلٰی قُوَّتِکُمۡ وَ لَا تَتَوَلَّوۡا مُجۡرِمِیۡنَ ﴿۵۲﴾
52. O my people! Seek forgiveness from your Lord, then turn to Him in repentance. He will send clouds upon you with abundant rain and add (more) strength to your present strength. So do not turn away, becoming sinners.’
ويا قوم استغفروا ربكم ثم توبوا إليه يرسل السماء عليكم مدرارا ويزدكم قوة إلى قوتكم ولا تتولوا مجرمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 52)
قَالُوۡا یٰہُوۡدُ مَا جِئۡتَنَا بِبَیِّنَۃٍ وَّ مَا نَحۡنُ بِتَارِکِیۡۤ اٰلِہَتِنَا عَنۡ قَوۡلِکَ وَ مَا نَحۡنُ لَکَ بِمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۵۳﴾
53. They said: ‘O Hud! You have not brought us any clear proof. We are not going to abandon our gods for your word alone. And we are not going to believe you.
قالوا يا هود ما جئتنا ببينة وما نحن بتاركي آلهتنا عن قولك وما نحن لك بمؤمنين
(هُوْد، 11 : 53)
اِنۡ نَّقُوۡلُ اِلَّا اعۡتَرٰىکَ بَعۡضُ اٰلِہَتِنَا بِسُوۡٓءٍ ؕ قَالَ اِنِّیۡۤ اُشۡہِدُ اللّٰہَ وَ اشۡہَدُوۡۤا اَنِّیۡ بَرِیۡٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشۡرِکُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۵۴﴾
54. All we can say is that some of our gods may have inflicted some harm on you.’ He said: ‘I call Allah to witness, and you too be (my) witness, that I disown what you ascribe as partners,
إن نقول إلا اعتراك بعض آلهتنا بسوء قال إني أشهد الله واشهدوا أني بريء مما تشركون
(هُوْد، 11 : 54)
اِنِّیۡ تَوَکَّلۡتُ عَلَی اللّٰہِ رَبِّیۡ وَ رَبِّکُمۡ ؕ مَا مِنۡ دَآبَّۃٍ اِلَّا ہُوَ اٰخِذٌۢ بِنَاصِیَتِہَا ؕ اِنَّ رَبِّیۡ عَلٰی صِرَاطٍ مُّسۡتَقِیۡمٍ ﴿۵۶﴾
56. I have put my trust in Allah—my Lord and your Lord. No moving creature is on the earth, but He holds it by its forelock. Indeed, (the way of) my Lord is (to be) on the straight path (of truth and justice).
إني توكلت على الله ربي وربكم ما من دآبة إلا هو آخذ بناصيتها إن ربي على صراط مستقيم
(هُوْد، 11 : 56)
فَاِنۡ تَوَلَّوۡا فَقَدۡ اَبۡلَغۡتُکُمۡ مَّاۤ اُرۡسِلۡتُ بِہٖۤ اِلَیۡکُمۡ ؕ وَ یَسۡتَخۡلِفُ رَبِّیۡ قَوۡمًا غَیۡرَکُمۡ ۚ وَ لَا تَضُرُّوۡنَہٗ شَیۡئًا ؕ اِنَّ رَبِّیۡ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ حَفِیۡظٌ ﴿۵۷﴾
57. But if you turn away, I have already conveyed to you the message with which I was sent to you. And my Lord will cause other people to succeed you, and you cannot harm Him in the least. Indeed, my Lord is Watcher over everything.’
فإن تولوا فقد أبلغتكم ما أرسلت به إليكم ويستخلف ربي قوما غيركم ولا تضرونه شيئا إن ربي على كل شيء حفيظ
(هُوْد، 11 : 57)
وَ لَمَّا جَآءَ اَمۡرُنَا نَجَّیۡنَا ہُوۡدًا وَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَہٗ بِرَحۡمَۃٍ مِّنَّا ۚ وَ نَجَّیۡنٰہُمۡ مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ غَلِیۡظٍ ﴿۵۸﴾
58. And when Our command came, We saved Hud and those who believed along with him by a mercy from Us. And We saved them from harsh punishment.
ولما جاء أمرنا نجينا هودا والذين آمنوا معه برحمة منا ونجيناهم من عذاب غليظ
(هُوْد، 11 : 58)
وَ تِلۡکَ عَادٌ ۟ۙ جَحَدُوۡا بِاٰیٰتِ رَبِّہِمۡ وَ عَصَوۡا رُسُلَہٗ وَ اتَّبَعُوۡۤا اَمۡرَ کُلِّ جَبَّارٍ عَنِیۡدٍ ﴿۵۹﴾
59. Such were the (people of) ‘Ad: they denied the signs of their Lord, disobeyed His messengers and followed the command of every tyrant opposer of truth.
وتلك عاد جحدوا بآيات ربهم وعصوا رسله واتبعوا أمر كل جبار عنيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 59)
وَ اُتۡبِعُوۡا فِیۡ ہٰذِہِ الدُّنۡیَا لَعۡنَۃً وَّ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ عَادًا کَفَرُوۡا رَبَّہُمۡ ؕ اَلَا بُعۡدًا لِّعَادٍ قَوۡمِ ہُوۡدٍ ﴿٪۶۰﴾
60. They were pursued by a curse in this world as on the Day of Resurrection. Yes! The ‘Ad surely denied their Lord. So away with the ‘Ad, the people of Hud!
وأتبعوا في هـذه الدنيا لعنة ويوم القيامة ألا إن عادا كفروا ربهم ألا بعدا لعاد قوم هود
(هُوْد، 11 : 60)
وَ اِلٰی ثَمُوۡدَ اَخَاہُمۡ صٰلِحًا ۘ قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰہَ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰہٍ غَیۡرُہٗ ؕ ہُوَ اَنۡشَاَکُمۡ مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَ اسۡتَعۡمَرَکُمۡ فِیۡہَا فَاسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡہُ ثُمَّ تُوۡبُوۡۤا اِلَیۡہِ ؕ اِنَّ رَبِّیۡ قَرِیۡبٌ مُّجِیۡبٌ ﴿۶۱﴾
61. And to (the people of) Thamud, (We sent) their (fellow) brother Salih. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. He brought you into being from the earth and settled you in it. So, seek forgiveness from Him and turn to Him in repentance. My Lord is indeed Ever Near, All-Responsive.’
وإلى ثمود أخاهم صالحا قال يا قوم اعبدوا الله ما لكم من إلـه غيره هو أنشأكم من الأرض واستعمركم فيها فاستغفروه ثم توبوا إليه إن ربي قريب مجيب
(هُوْد، 11 : 61)
قَالُوۡا یٰصٰلِحُ قَدۡ کُنۡتَ فِیۡنَا مَرۡجُوًّا قَبۡلَ ہٰذَاۤ اَتَنۡہٰنَاۤ اَنۡ نَّعۡبُدَ مَا یَعۡبُدُ اٰبَآؤُنَا وَ اِنَّنَا لَفِیۡ شَکٍّ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُوۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡہِ مُرِیۡبٍ ﴿۶۲﴾
62. They said: ‘O Salih! You were a source of hope among us before this. Do you (now) forbid us to worship what our fathers have been worshipping? Indeed, we are in grave doubt about what you are calling us to.’
قالوا يا صالح قد كنت فينا مرجوا قبل هـذا أتنهانا أن نعبد ما يعبد آباؤنا وإننا لفي شك مما تدعونا إليه مريب
(هُوْد، 11 : 62)
قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اَرَءَیۡتُمۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُ عَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّیۡ وَ اٰتٰىنِیۡ مِنۡہُ رَحۡمَۃً فَمَنۡ یَّنۡصُرُنِیۡ مِنَ اللّٰہِ اِنۡ عَصَیۡتُہٗ ۟ فَمَا تَزِیۡدُوۡنَنِیۡ غَیۡرَ تَخۡسِیۡرٍ ﴿۶۳﴾
63. He said: ‘O my people! Just tell me: If I did have clear proof from my Lord, and He had granted me mercy from Himself, then who would protect me from Allah if I disobeyed Him? For then, you would increase me in nothing but loss.
قال يا قوم أرأيتم إن كنت على بينة من ربي وآتاني منه رحمة فمن ينصرني من الله إن عصيته فما تزيدونني غير تخسـيـر
(هُوْد، 11 : 63)
وَ یٰقَوۡمِ ہٰذِہٖ نَاقَۃُ اللّٰہِ لَکُمۡ اٰیَۃً فَذَرُوۡہَا تَاۡکُلۡ فِیۡۤ اَرۡضِ اللّٰہِ وَ لَا تَمَسُّوۡہَا بِسُوۡٓءٍ فَیَاۡخُذَکُمۡ عَذَابٌ قَرِیۡبٌ ﴿۶۴﴾
64. O my people! This She-camel of Allah is a sign for you. So leave her free to graze in Allah’s land. And do not cause her any harm. For then, a prompt punishment will overtake you.’
ويا قوم هـذه ناقة الله لكم آية فذروها تأكل في أرض الله ولا تمسوها بسوء فيأخذكم عذاب قريب
(هُوْد، 11 : 64)
فَعَقَرُوۡہَا فَقَالَ تَمَتَّعُوۡا فِیۡ دَارِکُمۡ ثَلٰثَۃَ اَیَّامٍ ؕ ذٰلِکَ وَعۡدٌ غَیۡرُ مَکۡذُوۡبٍ ﴿۶۵﴾
65. But they slew her, and he said: ‘Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three days. That is a warning not to be proved false.’
فعقروها فقال تمتعوا في داركم ثلاثة أيام ذلك وعد غير مكذوب
(هُوْد، 11 : 65)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ اَمۡرُنَا نَجَّیۡنَا صٰلِحًا وَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَہٗ بِرَحۡمَۃٍ مِّنَّا وَ مِنۡ خِزۡیِ یَوۡمِئِذٍ ؕ اِنَّ رَبَّکَ ہُوَ الۡقَوِیُّ الۡعَزِیۡزُ ﴿۶۶﴾
66. So, when Our command (of punishment) came, We saved Salih and those who believed along with him by a mercy from Us, and (We saved them) from the disgrace of that day. Your Lord is indeed the All-Strong, the All-Mighty.
فلما جاء أمرنا نجينا صالحا والذين آمنوا معه برحمة منا ومن خزي يومئذ إن ربك هو القوي العزيز
(هُوْد، 11 : 66)
وَ لَقَدۡ جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَاۤ اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ بِالۡبُشۡرٰی قَالُوۡا سَلٰمًا ؕ قَالَ سَلٰمٌ فَمَا لَبِثَ اَنۡ جَآءَ بِعِجۡلٍ حَنِیۡذٍ ﴿۶۹﴾
69. Indeed, Our messengers came to Ibrahim (Abraham) with glad tidings (and) said: ‘Peace (be on you).’ He replied: ‘Peace (be on you).’ Then, without any delay, he brought in a roasted calf (for them).
ولقد جاءت رسلنا إبراهيم بالبـشرى قالوا سلاما قال سلام فما لبث أن جاء بعجل حنيذ
(هُوْد، 11 : 69)
فَلَمَّا رَاٰۤ اَیۡدِیَہُمۡ لَا تَصِلُ اِلَیۡہِ نَکِرَہُمۡ وَ اَوۡجَسَ مِنۡہُمۡ خِیۡفَۃً ؕ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ اِنَّاۤ اُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی قَوۡمِ لُوۡطٍ ﴿ؕ۷۰﴾
70. When he saw their hands not reaching towards it, he became suspicious about them and conceived a fear of them (on account of them not having the meal). They said: ‘Do not be afraid. We have been sent to the people of Lut (Lot).’
فلما رأى أيديهم لا تصل إليه نكرهم وأوجس منهم خيفة قالوا لا تخف إنا أرسلنا إلى قوم لوط
(هُوْد، 11 : 70)
وَ امۡرَاَتُہٗ قَآئِمَۃٌ فَضَحِکَتۡ فَبَشَّرۡنٰہَا بِاِسۡحٰقَ ۙ وَ مِنۡ وَّرَآءِ اِسۡحٰقَ یَعۡقُوۡبَ ﴿۷۱﴾
71. His wife (Sara) was standing (nearby), and she laughed.* Then We gave her glad tidings of (the birth of) Ishaq (Isaac), and after Ishaq (Isaac), (glad tidings) of Ya‘qub (Jacob).
* Prophet Ibrahim’s wife Sara laughed out of joy after receiving assurance that the angel guests did not cause any threat to them. Her laughter may also denote her happiness when she received the news regarding the destruction of the sinful people of Lot.
وامرأته قآئمة فضحكت فبشرناها بإسحق ومن وراء إسحق يعقوب
(هُوْد، 11 : 71)
قَالَتۡ یٰوَیۡلَتٰۤیءَ اَلِدُ وَ اَنَا عَجُوۡزٌ وَّ ہٰذَا بَعۡلِیۡ شَیۡخًا ؕ اِنَّ ہٰذَا لَشَیۡءٌ عَجِیۡبٌ ﴿۷۲﴾
72. She said: ‘Amazing! Shall I bear a child when I am an extremely old woman, and this husband of mine is an extremely older man? That would indeed be an astonishing thing!’*
* Prophet Ibrahim was said to be 120 years old at the time, and his wife Sara was 99.
قالت يا ويلتى أألد وأنا عجوز وهـذا بعلي شيخا إن هـذا لشيء عجيب
(هُوْد، 11 : 72)
قَالُوۡۤا اَتَعۡجَبِیۡنَ مِنۡ اَمۡرِ اللّٰہِ رَحۡمَتُ اللّٰہِ وَ بَرَکٰتُہٗ عَلَیۡکُمۡ اَہۡلَ الۡبَیۡتِ ؕ اِنَّہٗ حَمِیۡدٌ مَّجِیۡدٌ ﴿۷۳﴾
73. They said: ‘Are you astonished at the command of Allah? The mercy of Allah and His blessings be upon you, O People of the House! Indeed, He is the Praiseworthy, the Glorious.’
قالوا أتعجبين من أمر الله رحمت الله وبركاته عليكم أهل البيت إنه حميد مجيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 73)
فَلَمَّا ذَہَبَ عَنۡ اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ الرَّوۡعُ وَ جَآءَتۡہُ الۡبُشۡرٰی یُجَادِلُنَا فِیۡ قَوۡمِ لُوۡطٍ ﴿ؕ۷۴﴾
74. So when the fear had left Ibrahim (Abraham), and the glad tidings had come to him, he began to plead with Us for the people of Lut (Lot).
فلما ذهب عن إبراهيم الروع وجاءته البشرى يجادلنا في قوم لوط
(هُوْد، 11 : 74)
یٰۤـاِبۡرٰہِیۡمُ اَعۡرِضۡ عَنۡ ہٰذَا ۚ اِنَّہٗ قَدۡ جَآءَ اَمۡرُ رَبِّکَ ۚ وَ اِنَّہُمۡ اٰتِیۡہِمۡ عَذَابٌ غَیۡرُ مَرۡدُوۡدٍ ﴿۷۶﴾
76. (The angels said:) ‘O Ibrahim (Abraham)! Turn away from this (pleading). Indeed, the command of your Lord has come, and an irrevocable punishment shall overtake them.’
يا إبراهيم أعرض عن هذا إنه قد جاء أمر ربك وإنهم آتيهم عذاب غير مردود
(هُوْد، 11 : 76)
وَ لَمَّا جَآءَتۡ رُسُلُنَا لُوۡطًا سِیۡٓءَ بِہِمۡ وَ ضَاقَ بِہِمۡ ذَرۡعًا وَّ قَالَ ہٰذَا یَوۡمٌ عَصِیۡبٌ ﴿۷۷﴾
77. And when Our messengers came to Lut (Lot), he was distressed for them and felt himself in a difficult situation for their sake. And he said: ‘This is a terrible day!’
ولما جاءت رسلنا لوطا سيء بهم وضاق بهم ذرعا وقال هـذا يوم عصيب
(هُوْد، 11 : 77)
وَ جَآءَہٗ قَوۡمُہٗ یُہۡرَعُوۡنَ اِلَیۡہِ ؕ وَ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ کَانُوۡا یَعۡمَلُوۡنَ السَّیِّاٰتِ ؕ قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ ہٰۤؤُلَآءِ بَنَاتِیۡ ہُنَّ اَطۡہَرُ لَکُمۡ فَاتَّقُوا اللّٰہَ وَ لَا تُخۡزُوۡنِ فِیۡ ضَیۡفِیۡ ؕ اَلَـیۡسَ مِنۡکُمۡ رَجُلٌ رَّشِیۡدٌ ﴿۷۸﴾
78. Then his people came to him, running towards him, and they had already been committing evil deeds. He said: ‘O my people! These are my (people’s) daughters. They are purer (i.e. lawful) for you (through marriage). So be wary of Allah and do not disgrace me regarding my guests. Is there not a sensible man among you?’
وجاءه قومه يهرعون إليه ومن قبل كانوا يعملون السيئات قال يا قوم هـؤلاء بناتي هن أطهر لكم فاتقوا الله ولا تخزون في ضيفي أليس منكم رجل رشيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 78)
قَالُوۡا یٰلُوۡطُ اِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّکَ لَنۡ یَّصِلُوۡۤا اِلَیۡکَ فَاَسۡرِ بِاَہۡلِکَ بِقِطۡعٍ مِّنَ الَّیۡلِ وَ لَا یَلۡتَفِتۡ مِنۡکُمۡ اَحَدٌ اِلَّا امۡرَاَتَکَ ؕ اِنَّہٗ مُصِیۡبُہَا مَاۤ اَصَابَہُمۡ ؕ اِنَّ مَوۡعِدَہُمُ الصُّبۡحُ ؕ اَلَـیۡسَ الصُّبۡحُ بِقَرِیۡبٍ ﴿۸۱﴾
81. They said: ‘O Lut (Lot)! We are the messengers of your Lord. They shall never reach you. Travel with your family (and followers) in the dark of the night (leaving the town), and none of you shall turn back except your wife. The same (disaster) will afflict her as will afflict the others. Indeed, their appointed time (for the punishment) is the dawn. Is not the dawn (already) near?’
قالوا يا لوط إنا رسل ربك لن يصلوا إليك فأسر بأهلك بقطع من الليل ولا يلتفت منكم أحد إلا امرأتك إنه مصيبها ما أصابهم إن موعدهم الصبح أليس الصبح بقريب
(هُوْد، 11 : 81)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ اَمۡرُنَا جَعَلۡنَا عَالِیَہَا سَافِلَہَا وَ اَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَیۡہَا حِجَارَۃً مِّنۡ سِجِّیۡلٍ ۬ۙ مَّنۡضُوۡدٍ ﴿ۙ۸۲﴾
82. So when Our command came, We turned their town upside down and rained down upon them stones of baked clay, layer upon layer,
فلما جاء أمرنا جعلنا عاليها سافلها وأمطرنا عليها حجارة من سجيل منضود
(هُوْد، 11 : 82)
وَ اِلٰی مَدۡیَنَ اَخَاہُمۡ شُعَیۡبًا ؕ قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰہَ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰہٍ غَیۡرُہٗ ؕ وَ لَا تَنۡقُصُوا الۡمِکۡیَالَ وَ الۡمِیۡزَانَ اِنِّیۡۤ اَرٰىکُمۡ بِخَیۡرٍ وَّ اِنِّیۡۤ اَخَافُ عَلَیۡکُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ مُّحِیۡطٍ ﴿۸۴﴾
84. And to Madyan (Midian), (We sent) their (fellow) brother Shu‘ayb. He said: ‘O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. And do not give short measure nor less weight. Indeed, I see you prospering, but I fear the punishment of an encompassing day for you.
وإلى مدين أخاهم شعيبا قال يا قوم اعبدوا الله ما لكم من إلـه غيره ولا تنقصوا المكيال والميزان إني أراكم بخير وإني أخاف عليكم عذاب يوم محيط
(هُوْد، 11 : 84)
وَ یٰقَوۡمِ اَوۡفُوا الۡمِکۡیَالَ وَ الۡمِیۡزَانَ بِالۡقِسۡطِ وَ لَا تَبۡخَسُوا النَّاسَ اَشۡیَآءَہُمۡ وَ لَا تَعۡثَوۡا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِیۡنَ ﴿۸۵﴾
85. O my people! Give full measure and weigh justly. And do not curtail people’s goods. And do not act wickedly on the earth, causing corruption.
ويا قوم أوفوا المكيال والميزان بالقسط ولا تبخسوا الناس أشياءهم ولا تعثوا في الأرض مفسدين
(هُوْد، 11 : 85)
قَالُوۡا یٰشُعَیۡبُ اَصَلٰوتُکَ تَاۡمُرُکَ اَنۡ نَّتۡرُکَ مَا یَعۡبُدُ اٰبَآؤُنَاۤ اَوۡ اَنۡ نَّفۡعَلَ فِیۡۤ اَمۡوَالِنَا مَا نَشٰٓؤُاؕ اِنَّکَ لَاَنۡتَ الۡحَلِیۡمُ الرَّشِیۡدُ ﴿۸۷﴾
87. They said: ‘O Shu‘ayb! Does your prayer tell you that we should abandon what our forefathers have been worshipping or not manage our properties as we wish? Indeed, you are a gentle and sensible person.’
قالوا يا شعيب أصلاتك تأمرك أن نترك ما يعبد آباؤنا أو أن نفعل في أموالنا ما نشاء إنك لأنت الحليم الرشيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 87)
قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اَرَءَیۡتُمۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُ عَلٰی بَیِّنَۃٍ مِّنۡ رَّبِّیۡ وَ رَزَقَنِیۡ مِنۡہُ رِزۡقًا حَسَنًا ؕ وَ مَاۤ اُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ اُخَالِفَکُمۡ اِلٰی مَاۤ اَنۡہٰکُمۡ عَنۡہُ ؕ اِنۡ اُرِیۡدُ اِلَّا الۡاِصۡلَاحَ مَا اسۡتَطَعۡتُ ؕ وَ مَا تَوۡفِیۡقِیۡۤ اِلَّا بِاللّٰہِ ؕعَلَیۡہِ تَوَکَّلۡتُ وَ اِلَیۡہِ اُنِیۡبُ ﴿۸۸﴾
88. He said: ‘O my people! Just tell me: If I stand upon a clear proof from my Lord, and He has provided me with sound means of livelihood from Himself (then why should I hesitate to convey the truth to you)? I do not want to follow you (by doing the same thing), which I forbid you to do. I only desire to reform (the matters) as far as I can. And my success lies only with Allah. In Him, I put my trust, and to Him, I turn penitently.
قال يا قوم أرأيتم إن كنت على بينة من ربي ورزقني منه رزقا حسنا وما أريد أن أخالفكم إلى ما أنهاكم عنه إن أريد إلا الإصلاح ما استطعت وما توفيقي إلا بالله عليه توكلت وإليه أنيب
(هُوْد، 11 : 88)
وَ یٰقَوۡمِ لَا یَجۡرِمَنَّکُمۡ شِقَاقِیۡۤ اَنۡ یُّصِیۡبَکُمۡ مِّثۡلُ مَاۤ اَصَابَ قَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ اَوۡ قَوۡمَ ہُوۡدٍ اَوۡ قَوۡمَ صٰلِحٍ ؕ وَ مَا قَوۡمُ لُوۡطٍ مِّنۡکُمۡ بِبَعِیۡدٍ ﴿۸۹﴾
89. O my people! Do not let your defiance towards me lead you to a fate similar to what afflicted the people of Nuh (Noah), or the people of Hud, or the people of Salih. And the people of Lut (Lot) are (also) not far from you.
ويا قوم لا يجرمنكم شقاقي أن يصيبكم مثل ما أصاب قوم نوح أو قوم هود أو قوم صالح وما قوم لوط منكم ببعيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 89)
قَالُوۡا یٰشُعَیۡبُ مَا نَفۡقَہُ کَثِیۡرًا مِّمَّا تَقُوۡلُ وَ اِنَّا لَنَرٰىکَ فِیۡنَا ضَعِیۡفًا ۚ وَ لَوۡ لَا رَہۡطُکَ لَرَجَمۡنٰکَ ۫ وَ مَاۤ اَنۡتَ عَلَیۡنَا بِعَزِیۡزٍ ﴿۹۱﴾
91. They said: ‘O Shu‘ayb! We do not understand much of what you say. Indeed, we find you very weak among us. And were it not for your tribe, we would have stoned you. For you are not strong against us.’
قالوا يا شعيب ما نفقه كثيرا مما تقول وإنا لنراك فينا ضعيفا ولولا رهطك لرجمناك وما أنت علينا بعزيز
(هُوْد، 11 : 91)
قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ اَرَہۡطِیۡۤ اَعَزُّ عَلَیۡکُمۡ مِّنَ اللّٰہِ ؕ وَ اتَّخَذۡتُمُوۡہُ وَرَآءَکُمۡ ظِہۡرِیًّا ؕ اِنَّ رَبِّیۡ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ مُحِیۡطٌ ﴿۹۲﴾
92. He said: ‘O my people, is my tribe more esteemed in your sight than Allah? Yet you have put Him behind you with disregard. Indeed, my Lord comprehends whatever you do.
قال يا قوم أرهطي أعز عليكم من الله واتخذتموه وراءكم ظهريا إن ربي بما تعملون محيط
(هُوْد، 11 : 92)
وَ یٰقَوۡمِ اعۡمَلُوۡا عَلٰی مَکَانَتِکُمۡ اِنِّیۡ عَامِلٌ ؕ سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ۙ مَنۡ یَّاۡتِیۡہِ عَذَابٌ یُّخۡزِیۡہِ وَ مَنۡ ہُوَ کَاذِبٌ ؕ وَ ارۡتَقِبُوۡۤا اِنِّیۡ مَعَکُمۡ رَقِیۡبٌ ﴿۹۳﴾
93. O my people! Do whatever is in your ability for I am doing (in accordance with my ability). You will soon know who is the one whom the punishment overtakes, which will disgrace him, and who is a liar. And keep watch; I am (also) watching along with you.’
ويا قوم اعملوا على مكانتكم إني عامل سوف تعلمون من يأتيه عذاب يخزيه ومن هو كاذب وارتقبوا إني معكم رقيب
(هُوْد، 11 : 93)
وَ لَمَّا جَآءَ اَمۡرُنَا نَجَّیۡنَا شُعَیۡبًا وَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مَعَہٗ بِرَحۡمَۃٍ مِّنَّا وَ اَخَذَتِ الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوا الصَّیۡحَۃُ فَاَصۡبَحُوۡا فِیۡ دِیَارِہِمۡ جٰثِمِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۹۴﴾
94. And when Our command came, We saved Shu‘ayb and those who believed with him by a mercy from Us. And a dreadful blast overtook those who were wrongdoers. So they became lifeless bodies in their homes,
ولما جاء أمرنا نجينا شعيبا والذين آمنوا معه برحمة منا وأخذت الذين ظلموا الصيحة فأصبحوا في ديارهم جاثمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 94)
اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَ مَلَا۠ئِہٖ فَاتَّبَعُوۡۤا اَمۡرَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ۚ وَ مَاۤ اَمۡرُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِرَشِیۡدٍ ﴿۹۷﴾
97. to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they followed the command of Pharaoh, although Pharaoh’s command was not right-directing.
إلى فرعون وملئه فاتبعوا أمر فرعون وما أمر فرعون برشيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 97)
یَقۡدُمُ قَوۡمَہٗ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ فَاَوۡرَدَہُمُ النَّارَ ؕ وَ بِئۡسَ الۡوِرۡدُ الۡمَوۡرُوۡدُ ﴿۹۸﴾
98. He will lead his people on the Day of Resurrection and bring them down into the Fire. Evil indeed is the place they will be led into!
يقدم قومه يوم القيامة فأوردهم النار وبئس الورد المورود
(هُوْد، 11 : 98)
وَ اُتۡبِعُوۡا فِیۡ ہٰذِہٖ لَعۡنَۃً وَّ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ ؕ بِئۡسَ الرِّفۡدُ الۡمَرۡفُوۡدُ ﴿۹۹﴾
99. And they were pursued by a curse in this (world) and on the Day of Resurrection. Evil indeed is the gift which shall be awarded (to them)!
وأتبعوا في هـذه لعنة ويوم القيامة بئس الرفد المرفود
(هُوْد، 11 : 99)
ذٰلِکَ مِنۡ اَنۡۢبَآءِ الۡقُرٰی نَقُصُّہٗ عَلَیۡکَ مِنۡہَا قَآئِمٌ وَّ حَصِیۡدٌ ﴿۱۰۰﴾
100. (O Prophet!) These are the stories of the towns (and their fate), which we relate to you. Among them are some which are still standing (barren), while (others) have been eliminated.
ذلك من أنباء القرى نقصه عليك منها قآئم وحصيد
(هُوْد، 11 : 100)
وَ مَا ظَلَمۡنٰہُمۡ وَ لٰکِنۡ ظَلَمُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَہُمۡ فَمَاۤ اَغۡنَتۡ عَنۡہُمۡ اٰلِہَتُہُمُ الَّتِیۡ یَدۡعُوۡنَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ لَّمَّا جَآءَ اَمۡرُ رَبِّکَ ؕ وَ مَا زَادُوۡہُمۡ غَیۡرَ تَتۡبِیۡبٍ ﴿۱۰۱﴾
101. We did not wrong them, but they wronged themselves. And their gods whom they would worship besides Allah did not avail them at all when the command of your Lord came. And they increased them in nothing but ruin.
وما ظلمناهم ولـكن ظلموا أنفسهم فما أغنت عنهم آلهتهم التي يدعون من دون الله من شيء لما جاء أمر ربك وما زادوهم غير تتبيب
(هُوْد، 11 : 101)
وَ کَذٰلِکَ اَخۡذُ رَبِّکَ اِذَاۤ اَخَذَ الۡقُرٰی وَ ہِیَ ظَالِمَۃٌ ؕ اِنَّ اَخۡذَہٗۤ اَلِیۡمٌ شَدِیۡدٌ ﴿۱۰۲﴾
102. Such is the seizing of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong. Indeed, his seizing is painful (and) severe.
وكذلك أخذ ربك إذا أخذ القرى وهي ظالمة إن أخذه أليم شديد
(هُوْد، 11 : 102)
اِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ لَاٰیَۃً لِّمَنۡ خَافَ عَذَابَ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ ؕ ذٰلِکَ یَوۡمٌ مَّجۡمُوۡعٌ ۙ لَّہُ النَّاسُ وَ ذٰلِکَ یَوۡمٌ مَّشۡہُوۡدٌ ﴿۱۰۳﴾
103. There is indeed a sign for those who fear the punishment of the Hereafter. That is a day when all humankind will be assembled. And that is a day witnessed (by all creatures).
إن في ذلك لآية لمن خاف عذاب الآخرة ذلك يوم مجموع له الناس وذلك يوم مشهود
(هُوْد، 11 : 103)
خٰلِدِیۡنَ فِیۡہَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَ الۡاَرۡضُ اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّکَ ؕ اِنَّ رَبَّکَ فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا یُرِیۡدُ ﴿۱۰۷﴾
107. They shall remain in it as long as the heavens and the earth exist, except what your Lord may wish. Indeed, your Lord is a Mighty Doer of whatever He wills.
خالدين فيها ما دامت السماوات والأرض إلا ما شاء ربك إن ربك فعال لما يريد
(هُوْد، 11 : 107)
وَ اَمَّا الَّذِیۡنَ سُعِدُوۡا فَفِی الۡجَنَّۃِ خٰلِدِیۡنَ فِیۡہَا مَا دَامَتِ السَّمٰوٰتُ وَ الۡاَرۡضُ اِلَّا مَا شَآءَ رَبُّکَ ؕ عَطَآءً غَیۡرَ مَجۡذُوۡذٍ ﴿۱۰۸﴾
108. And as for those destined for joy, they shall be in Paradise. They will remain in it as long as the heavens and the earth exist, except what your Lord may wish. A (generous) gift never to be withdrawn.
وأما الذين سعدوا ففي الجنة خالدين فيها ما دامت السماوات والأرض إلا ما شاء ربك عطاء غير مجذوذ
(هُوْد، 11 : 108)
فَلَا تَکُ فِیۡ مِرۡیَۃٍ مِّمَّا یَعۡبُدُ ہٰۤؤُلَآءِ ؕ مَا یَعۡبُدُوۡنَ اِلَّا کَمَا یَعۡبُدُ اٰبَآؤُہُمۡ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُ ؕ وَ اِنَّا لَمُوَفُّوۡہُمۡ نَصِیۡبَہُمۡ غَیۡرَ مَنۡقُوۡصٍ ﴿۱۰۹﴾٪
109. So, (O listener) do not be in doubt regarding (the idols) these (pagans) worship. They worship nothing except what their forefathers worshipped before. We will most surely pay them their portion (of punishment) in full, without any reduction.
فلا تك في مرية مما يعبد هـؤلاء ما يعبدون إلا كما يعبد آباؤهم من قبل وإنا لموفوهم نصيبهم غير منقوص
(هُوْد، 11 : 109)
وَ لَقَدۡ اٰتَیۡنَا مُوۡسَی الۡکِتٰبَ فَاخۡتُلِفَ فِیۡہِ ؕ وَ لَوۡ لَا کَلِمَۃٌ سَبَقَتۡ مِنۡ رَّبِّکَ لَقُضِیَ بَیۡنَہُمۡ ؕ وَ اِنَّہُمۡ لَفِیۡ شَکٍّ مِّنۡہُ مُرِیۡبٍ ﴿۱۱۰﴾
110. Indeed, We gave the Book to Musa (Moses), but differences arose regarding it. And had not a Word gone forth from your Lord, the matter would have been decided between them. Indeed, they are in confounding doubt about it.
ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب فاختلف فيه ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك لقضي بينهم وإنهم لفي شك منه مريب
(هُوْد، 11 : 110)
فَاسۡتَقِمۡ کَمَاۤ اُمِرۡتَ وَ مَنۡ تَابَ مَعَکَ وَ لَا تَطۡغَوۡا ؕ اِنَّہٗ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ بَصِیۡرٌ ﴿۱۱۲﴾
112. So remain steadfast, just as you have been commanded, along with those who have returned (to Allah) with you, and do not transgress. Indeed, He is All-Seeing of whatever you do.
فاستقم كما أمرت ومن تاب معك ولا تطغوا إنه بما تعملون بصير
(هُوْد، 11 : 112)
وَ لَا تَرۡکَنُوۡۤا اِلَی الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا فَتَمَسَّکُمُ النَّارُ ۙ وَ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ مِنۡ اَوۡلِیَآءَ ثُمَّ لَا تُنۡصَرُوۡنَ ﴿۱۱۳﴾
113. And (O people!) do not incline towards the wrongdoers, lest the Fire should touch you. And you will have no protectors besides Allah. Then you shall not be helped.
ولا تركنوا إلى الذين ظلموا فتمسكم النار وما لكم من دون الله من أولياء ثم لا تنصرون
(هُوْد، 11 : 113)
وَ اَقِمِ الصَّلٰوۃَ طَرَفَیِ النَّہَارِ وَ زُلَفًا مِّنَ الَّیۡلِ ؕ اِنَّ الۡحَسَنٰتِ یُذۡہِبۡنَ السَّیِّاٰتِ ؕ ذٰلِکَ ذِکۡرٰی لِلذّٰکِرِیۡنَ ﴿۱۱۴﴾ۚ
114. And establish the prayer at both ends of the day (i.e. dawn and sunset) and during the early hours of the night. Indeed, good deeds wipe out evil deeds (i.e. virtue effaces vice). That is a reminder for the mindful.
وأقم الصلاة طرفي النهار وزلفا من الليل إن الحسنات يذهبن السـيئات ذلك ذكرى للذاكرين
(هُوْد، 11 : 114)
فَلَوۡ لَا کَانَ مِنَ الۡقُرُوۡنِ مِنۡ قَبۡلِکُمۡ اُولُوۡا بَقِیَّۃٍ یَّنۡہَوۡنَ عَنِ الۡفَسَادِ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ اِلَّا قَلِیۡلًا مِّمَّنۡ اَنۡجَیۡنَا مِنۡہُمۡ ۚ وَ اتَّبَعَ الَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا مَاۤ اُتۡرِفُوۡا فِیۡہِ وَ کَانُوۡا مُجۡرِمِیۡنَ ﴿۱۱۶﴾
116. So why were there not among the generations before you, those possessing the right understanding, who could have forbidden corruption on the earth? (There was none) except a few of those whom We saved among them (from the punishment). And the wrongdoers pursued only the (worldly) luxuries they had been given, and they were guilty.
فلولا كان من القرون من قبلكم أولوا بقية ينهون عن الفساد في الأرض إلا قليلا ممن أنجينا منهم واتبع الذين ظلموا ما أترفوا فيه وكانوا مجرمين
(هُوْد، 11 : 116)
اِلَّا مَنۡ رَّحِمَ رَبُّکَ ؕ وَ لِذٰلِکَ خَلَقَہُمۡ ؕ وَ تَمَّتۡ کَلِمَۃُ رَبِّکَ لَاَمۡلَـَٔنَّ جَہَنَّمَ مِنَ الۡجِنَّۃِ وَ النَّاسِ اَجۡمَعِیۡنَ ﴿۱۱۹﴾
119. except those upon whom your Lord shows mercy, for He has created them to be this way. And the Word of your Lord is fulfilled: ‘I shall surely fill Hell with (the unjust and corrupt) jinn and men all together.’
إلا من رحم ربك ولذلك خلقهم وتمت كلمة ربك لأملأن جهنم من الجنة والناس أجمعين
(هُوْد، 11 : 119)
وَ کُلًّا نَّقُصُّ عَلَیۡکَ مِنۡ اَنۡۢبَآءِ الرُّسُلِ مَا نُثَبِّتُ بِہٖ فُؤَادَکَ ۚ وَ جَآءَکَ فِیۡ ہٰذِہِ الۡحَقُّ وَ مَوۡعِظَۃٌ وَّ ذِکۡرٰی لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۱۲۰﴾
120. And (O Prophet!) whatever We relate to you from the stories of the messengers is that by which We strengthen your heart. There has come to you in this (revelation) the truth, an advice and a reminder to the believers.
وكـلا نقص عليك من أنباء الرسل ما نثبت به فؤادك وجاءك في هـذه الحق وموعظة وذكرى للمؤمنين
(هُوْد، 11 : 120)
وَ لِلّٰہِ غَیۡبُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَ اِلَیۡہِ یُرۡجَعُ الۡاَمۡرُ کُلُّہٗ فَاعۡبُدۡہُ وَ تَوَکَّلۡ عَلَیۡہِ ؕ وَ مَا رَبُّکَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۱۲۳﴾٪
