مکیسورہ

اس کا نام الذاریات ہے، جو اس کا پہلا کلمہ ہے۔ اس میں تین رکوع ہیں، باتفاق علماء اس کا نزول مکہ میں ہوا۔ عقیدہ قیامت، اسلام کے بنیادی عقائد سے ہے۔ زندگی کا جو پروگرام اسلام پیش کرتا ہے، اس پر صحیح طور پر عمل اسی وقت ہو سکتا ہے، اس کے فیوض و برکات سے انسان اسی وقت متفیض ہو سکتا ہے جب قیامت پر اس کا یقین محکم ہو۔ اس لیے متعدد چیزوں کی قسمیں کھا کر یہ بتایا گیا کہ قیامت کی آمد کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور وہ دن ضرور آئے گا جب نیک و بد کو جزا و سزا ملے گی۔ کفار جو قیامت کا انکار کرتے ہیں۔ ان کے پاس اس انکار کی کوئی معقول وجہ نہیں ہے۔ صرف قیاس آرائیاں ہیں جن کی کوئی حقیقت نہیں اور وہ ان قیاس آرائیوں سے اس لیے مطمئن ہیں کہ وہ عیش و عشرت کے نشہ میں مدہوش ہیں۔ جب موت کا تلخ گھونٹ پئیں گے اس وقت خوفناک حقائق سے ان کی آنکھیں چار ہوں گی۔ مگر اس وقت بجز حسرت و ندامت کچھ حاصل نہ ہوگا۔

تعارف سورۃ الذاریات

اس کا نام الذاریات ہے، جو اس کا پہلا کلمہ ہے۔ اس میں تین رکوع ، ساٹھ آیتیں، تین سو ساٹھ کملے، ایک ہزار دو انتالیس حروف ہیں۔

نزول

باتفاق علماء اس کا نزول مکہ میں ہوا۔

مضامین

عقیدہ قیامت، اسلام کے بنیادی عقائد سے ہے۔ زندگی کا جو پروگرام اسلام پیش کرتا ہے، اس پر صحیح طور پر عمل اسی وقت ہو سکتا ہے، اس کے فیوض و برکات سے انسان اسی وقت متفیض ہو سکتا ہے جب قیامت پر اس کا یقین محکم ہو۔ اس لیے متعدد چیزوں کی قسمیں کھا کر یہ بتایا گیا کہ قیامت کی آمد کا وعدہ سچا ہے اور وہ دن ضرور آئے گا جب نیک و بد کو جزا و سزا ملے گی۔ کفار جو قیامت کا انکار کرتے ہیں۔ ان کے پاس اس انکار کی کوئی معقول وجہ نہیں ہے۔ صرف قیاس آرائیاں ہیں جن کی کوئی حقیقت نہیں اور وہ ان قیاس آرائیوں سے اس لیے مطمئن ہیں کہ وہ عیش و عشرت کے نشہ میں مدہوش ہیں۔ جب موت کا تلخ گھونٹ پئیں گے اس وقت خوفناک حقائق سے ان کی آنکھیں چار ہوں گی۔ مگر اس وقت بجز حسرت و ندامت کچھ حاصل نہ ہوگا۔

پھر بتایا ان کے برعکس کچھ اور لوگ بھی ہیں جو ہر وقت اپنے رب کریم سے لرزاں ترساں رہتے ہیں۔ اس کے ہرارشاد کی تعمیل کرتے ہیں۔ ان کی راتیں اس کے ذکر سے گزرتی ہیں اور سحری کے وقت اپنی کوتاہیوں اور غفلتوں پر مغفرت طلب کرتے رہتے ہیں اور جو مال انہیں اللہ تعالیٰ نے دیا ہے۔ اس میں غریبوں اور محروموں کو دیتے رہتے ہیں۔

دوسرے رکوع میں متقیوں کے سرتاج اور مقبولین کے امام حضرت سیدنا ابراہیم علیہ الصلوۃ و السلام کے حالات بیان فرمائے اور پیرانہ سالی میں انہیں فرزند ارجمند کی ولادت کا مژدہ سنایا۔

اس کے بعد چند ایسی قوموں کا تذکرہ کیا جو فسق و فجور کی زندگی میں سرشار رہیں۔ اپنے نبیوں کی دعوت کو ٹھکراتی رہیں۔ اس سرکشی کی پاداش میں ان کا جو انجام ہوا، وہ سب کے لیے باعث عبرت ہے۔

تیسرے رکوع میں اللہ تعالیٰ کی شان و عظمت بیان کرنے کے بعد بتایا کہ اسی کے دامن کرم میں پناہ لو۔ اس کے ساتھ کسی کو شریک نہ ٹھہراو۔ پہلے بھی لوگوں نے اپنے انبیاء کو ساحر اور مجنوں کہا اور سرکش بنے رہے۔ اسے محبوب اگر یہ کفار آپ کے بارے میں ایسی نازیبا کرتے ہیں تو آپ ان سے رخ موڑ لیں اور نصحیت کرتے رہیں، اہل ایمان اس نصیحیت سے نفح حاصل کریں گے، پھر جن و انس کی تخلیق کی غایت بتا دی کہ وہ اللہ تعالیٰ کی عبادت کریں اور اس کے احکام کی پابندی کریں۔ اللہ تعالیٰ کو ان کو ضرورت نہیں۔ نہ وہ ان سے رزق مانگتا ہے نہ خوراک کا طلبگار ہے بلکہ ساری کائنات اس کے دستر خوان کرم کی ریزہ چین ہے اور جو لوگ اس حقیقت کو نہیں سمجھتے ان کے لیے ہلاکت اور خرابی ہے۔

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the All-Merciful

وَالذّٰرِیٰتِ ذَرۡوًا ۙ﴿۱﴾

1. By the scattering (winds) that scatter (the clouds);

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 1)

فَالۡحٰمِلٰتِ وِقۡرًا ۙ﴿۲﴾

2. by the rain-bearing (clouds) loaded with the burden (of water);

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 2)

فَالۡجٰرِیٰتِ یُسۡرًا ۙ﴿۳﴾

3. by (the ships) which float gently (on the sea);

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 3)

فَالۡمُقَسِّمٰتِ اَمۡرًا ۙ﴿۴﴾

4. by (the angels) who distribute (blessings) by (His) command;

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 4)

اِنَّمَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ لَصَادِقٌ ۙ﴿۵﴾

5. indeed, what you are promised is true.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 5)

وَّ اِنَّ الدِّیۡنَ لَوَاقِعٌ ؕ﴿۶﴾

6. And indeed, the judgement (of retributive justice) shall come to pass.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 6)

وَ السَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ الۡحُبُکِ ۙ﴿۷﴾

7. By the sky full of galaxies and pathways (of planets and stars),

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 7)

اِنَّکُمۡ لَفِیۡ قَوۡلٍ مُّخۡتَلِفٍ ۙ﴿۸﴾

8. indeed, you are (lost) in conflicting opinions.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 8)

یُّؤۡفَکُ عَنۡہُ مَنۡ اُفِکَ ﴿ؕ۹﴾

9. Only he is turned away (from the Qur’an) who has been deluded.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 9)

قُتِلَ الۡخَرّٰصُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۱۰﴾

10. Ruined are those who tell lies out of conjecture,

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 10)

الَّذِیۡنَ ہُمۡ فِیۡ غَمۡرَۃٍ سَاہُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۱۱﴾

11. those steeped in ignorance and are neglectful (of the Hereafter).

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 11)

یَسۡـَٔلُوۡنَ اَیَّانَ یَوۡمُ الدِّیۡنِ ﴿ؕ۱۲﴾

12. They ask (mockingly): ‘When is the Day of Retribution?’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 12)

یَوۡمَ ہُمۡ عَلَی النَّارِ یُفۡتَنُوۡنَ ﴿۱۳﴾

13. (Say:) ‘It is the Day (when) they will be tormented over the Fire.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 13)

ذُوۡقُوۡا فِتۡنَتَکُمۡ ؕ ہٰذَا الَّذِیۡ کُنۡتُمۡ بِہٖ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ ﴿۱۴﴾

14. (And they will be told:) ‘Taste your torment. This is what you sought to hasten.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 14)

اِنَّ الۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ فِیۡ جَنّٰتٍ وَّ عُیُوۡنٍ ﴿ۙ۱۵﴾

15. Indeed, the pious will be (rejoicing) in gardens and springs.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 15)

اٰخِذِیۡنَ مَاۤ اٰتٰہُمۡ رَبُّہُمۡ ؕ اِنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا قَبۡلَ ذٰلِکَ مُحۡسِنِیۡنَ ﴿ؕ۱۶﴾

16. Receiving (delightfully) what their Lord has granted them, for they had been virtuously excellent before that.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 16)

کَانُوۡا قَلِیۡلًا مِّنَ الَّیۡلِ مَا یَہۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴿۱۷﴾

17. They used to sleep only a little during the night.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 17)

وَ بِالۡاَسۡحَارِ ہُمۡ یَسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡنَ ﴿۱۸﴾

18. And they would seek forgiveness in the latter part of the night (i.e. before dawn).

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 18)

وَ فِیۡۤ اَمۡوَالِہِمۡ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّآئِلِ وَ الۡمَحۡرُوۡمِ ﴿۱۹﴾

19. And in their wealth, there was a rightful share for the beggar and the deprived.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 19)

وَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ اٰیٰتٌ لِّلۡمُوۡقِنِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۲۰﴾

20. Upon the earth, there are signs for those with sure faith,

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 20)

وَ فِیۡۤ اَنۡفُسِکُمۡ ؕ اَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُوۡنَ ﴿۲۱﴾

21. and within yourselves (as well). Do you not then perceive?

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 21)

وَ فِی السَّمَآءِ رِزۡقُکُمۡ وَ مَا تُوۡعَدُوۡنَ ﴿۲۲﴾

22. And in the heaven is your sustenance and whatever you are promised.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 22)

فَوَ رَبِّ السَّمَآءِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ اِنَّہٗ لَحَقٌّ مِّثۡلَ مَاۤ اَنَّکُمۡ تَنۡطِقُوۡنَ ﴿٪۲۳﴾

23. By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this (promise) is surely true, just as (the fact that) you can speak.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 23)

ہَلۡ اَتٰىکَ حَدِیۡثُ ضَیۡفِ اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ الۡمُکۡرَمِیۡنَ ﴿ۘ۲۴﴾

24. Did the story of the honoured guests of Ibrahim (Abraham) reach you?

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 24)

اِذۡ دَخَلُوۡا عَلَیۡہِ فَقَالُوۡا سَلٰمًا ؕ قَالَ سَلٰمٌ ۚ قَوۡمٌ مُّنۡکَرُوۡنَ ﴿ۚ۲۵﴾

25. When they (i.e. the angels) entered his presence, they greeted him with: ‘Peace!’ He (also) said (to them): ‘Peace (be upon you)!’ (Addressing himself, he said:) ‘They are unfamiliar people.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 25)

فَرَاغَ اِلٰۤی اَہۡلِہٖ فَجَآءَ بِعِجۡلٍ سَمِیۡنٍ ﴿ۙ۲۶﴾

26. Then he went quietly to his family and brought out a fat (roasted) calf.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 26)

فَقَرَّبَہٗۤ اِلَیۡہِمۡ قَالَ اَلَا تَاۡکُلُوۡنَ ﴿۫۲۷﴾

27. He placed it before them and said: ‘Will you not eat?’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 27)

فَاَوۡجَسَ مِنۡہُمۡ خِیۡفَۃً ؕ قَالُوۡا لَا تَخَفۡ ؕ وَ بَشَّرُوۡہُ بِغُلٰمٍ عَلِیۡمٍ ﴿۲۸﴾

28. (When they did not eat,) he started becoming fearful of them. They (i.e. the angels) said: ‘Do not be afraid.’ And they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son (Ishaq [Isaac]).

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 28)

فَاَقۡبَلَتِ امۡرَاَتُہٗ فِیۡ صَرَّۃٍ فَصَکَّتۡ وَجۡہَہَا وَ قَالَتۡ عَجُوۡزٌ عَقِیۡمٌ ﴿۲۹﴾

29. Then his wife (Sara) came up with a loud cry (in joy), patting her forehead in wonder and said: ‘(What!) A barren old woman (giving birth to a child)?’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 29)

قَالُوۡا کَذٰلِکِ ۙ قَالَ رَبُّکِ ؕ اِنَّہٗ ہُوَ الۡحَکِیۡمُ الۡعَلِیۡمُ ﴿۳۰﴾

30. They (i.e. the angels) said: ‘Such has your Lord decreed. Indeed, He is the All-Wise, the All-Knowing.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 30)

قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُکُمۡ اَیُّہَا الۡمُرۡسَلُوۡنَ ﴿۳۱﴾

31. He (i.e. Abraham) said: ‘What is your intent now, O messengers?’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 31)

قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّاۤ اُرۡسِلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی قَوۡمٍ مُّجۡرِمِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۳۲﴾

32. They said: ‘We have (actually) been sent to a guilty people (the people of Lot),

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 32)

لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ حِجَارَۃً مِّنۡ طِیۡنٍ ﴿ۙ۳۳﴾

33. to rain upon them stones of (baked) clay,

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 33)

مُّسَوَّمَۃً عِنۡدَ رَبِّکَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِیۡنَ ﴿۳۴﴾

34. marked by your Lord for the transgressors.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 34)

فَاَخۡرَجۡنَا مَنۡ کَانَ فِیۡہَا مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿ۚ۳۵﴾

35. Then (before the punishment descended upon them), We evacuated (from the town) whoever among them were believers.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 35)

فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِیۡہَا غَیۡرَ بَیۡتٍ مِّنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِیۡنَ ﴿ۚ۳۶﴾

36. But We did not find there other than one house of the Muslims.*

* One house refers to Prophet Lut and his two daughters; they were saved from the punishment, but his wife was not, for she was among the disbelievers.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 36)

وَ تَرَکۡنَا فِیۡہَاۤ اٰیَۃً لِّلَّذِیۡنَ یَخَافُوۡنَ الۡعَذَابَ الۡاَلِیۡمَ ﴿ؕ۳۷﴾

37. We have left a sign there (as a lesson) for those who fear the painful punishment.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 37)

وَ فِیۡ مُوۡسٰۤی اِذۡ اَرۡسَلۡنٰہُ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِسُلۡطٰنٍ مُّبِیۡنٍ ﴿۳۸﴾

38. And (there is another lesson) in (the story of) Musa (Moses), when We sent him to Pharaoh with a clear authority.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 38)

فَتَوَلّٰی بِرُکۡنِہٖ وَ قَالَ سٰحِرٌ اَوۡ مَجۡنُوۡنٌ ﴿۳۹﴾

39. He turned away along with his cabinet and said: ‘(Here is) a magician or a crazy man!’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 39)

فَاَخَذۡنٰہُ وَ جُنُوۡدَہٗ فَنَبَذۡنٰہُمۡ فِی الۡیَمِّ وَ ہُوَ مُلِیۡمٌ ﴿ؕ۴۰﴾

40. So We seized him and his forces, and We drowned them in the sea, for he was blameworthy.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 40)

وَ فِیۡ عَادٍ اِذۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡہِمُ الرِّیۡحَ الۡعَقِیۡمَ ﴿ۚ۴۱﴾

41. And (there is another lesson) in (the story of) ‘Ad, when We sent upon them a destructive wind.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 41)

مَا تَذَرُ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ اَتَتۡ عَلَیۡہِ اِلَّا جَعَلَتۡہُ کَالرَّمِیۡمِ ﴿ؕ۴۲﴾

42. It left nothing that it came upon but reduced it to ashes.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 42)

وَ فِیۡ ثَمُوۡدَ اِذۡ قِیۡلَ لَہُمۡ تَمَتَّعُوۡا حَتّٰی حِیۡنٍ ﴿۴۳﴾

43. And (there is another lesson) in (the story of) Thamud, when they were told: ‘Enjoy yourselves for a (short) while.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 43)

فَعَتَوۡا عَنۡ اَمۡرِ رَبِّہِمۡ فَاَخَذَتۡہُمُ الصّٰعِقَۃُ وَ ہُمۡ یَنۡظُرُوۡنَ ﴿۴۴﴾

44. Still, they revolted against the command of their Lord. So, a horrifying blast overtook them while they were looking on (helplessly).

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 44)

فَمَا اسۡتَطَاعُوۡا مِنۡ قِیَامٍ وَّ مَا کَانُوۡا مُنۡتَصِرِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۴۵﴾

45. So they were neither able to rise nor could they help one another.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 45)

وَ قَوۡمَ نُوۡحٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُ ؕ اِنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا قَوۡمًا فٰسِقِیۡنَ ﴿٪۴۶﴾

46. And (We also destroyed) the people of Nuh (Noah) earlier. Indeed, they were a transgressing people.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 46)

وَ السَّمَآءَ بَنَیۡنٰہَا بِاَیۡىدٍ وَّ اِنَّا لَمُوۡسِعُوۡنَ ﴿۴۷﴾

47. And We built the whole universe with (great) energy. And indeed, We are continuously expanding it.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 47)

وَ الۡاَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنٰہَا فَنِعۡمَ الۡمٰہِدُوۡنَ ﴿۴۸﴾

48. As for the earth, We have spread it out. So, how excellent spreaders We are!

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 48)

وَ مِنۡ کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَیۡنِ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَذَکَّرُوۡنَ ﴿۴۹﴾

49. We have created pairs of everything; perhaps you may be mindful of advice.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 49)

فَفِرُّوۡۤا اِلَی اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنِّیۡ لَکُمۡ مِّنۡہُ نَذِیۡرٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ ﴿ۚ۵۰﴾

50. (Say:) ‘So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am a clear warner to you from Him.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 50)

وَ لَا تَجۡعَلُوۡا مَعَ اللّٰہِ اِلٰـہًا اٰخَرَ ؕ اِنِّیۡ لَکُمۡ مِّنۡہُ نَذِیۡرٌ مُّبِیۡنٌ ﴿ۚ۵۱﴾

51. Do not set up another god with Allah. Indeed, I am a clear warner to you from Him.’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 51)

کَذٰلِکَ مَاۤ اَتَی الَّذِیۡنَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہِمۡ مِّنۡ رَّسُوۡلٍ اِلَّا قَالُوۡا سَاحِرٌ اَوۡ مَجۡنُوۡنٌ ﴿ۚ۵۲﴾

52. Similarly, no messenger came to those before them, but they said: ‘(This is) a magician or a crazy man!’

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 52)

اَتَوَاصَوۡا بِہٖ ۚ بَلۡ ہُمۡ قَوۡمٌ طَاغُوۡنَ ﴿ۚ۵۳﴾

53. Did they tell one another to do this? Instead, they were a rebellious people.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 53)

فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡہُمۡ فَمَاۤ اَنۡتَ بِمَلُوۡمٍ ﴿٭۫۵۴﴾

54. So turn away from them, for you will not be blamed (for their disbelief).

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 54)

وَّ ذَکِّرۡ فَاِنَّ الذِّکۡرٰی تَنۡفَعُ الۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۵۵﴾

55. But (continue to) remind, for surely the Reminder benefits the believers.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 55)

وَ مَا خَلَقۡتُ الۡجِنَّ وَ الۡاِنۡسَ اِلَّا لِیَعۡبُدُوۡنِ ﴿۵۶﴾

56. I did not create the jinn and humans but to worship Me.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 56)

مَاۤ اُرِیۡدُ مِنۡہُمۡ مِّنۡ رِّزۡقٍ وَّ مَاۤ اُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ یُّطۡعِمُوۡنِ ﴿۵۷﴾

57. I desire no provision from them, nor do I want that they should feed Me.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 57)

اِنَّ اللّٰہَ ہُوَ الرَّزَّاقُ ذُو الۡقُوَّۃِ الۡمَتِیۡنُ ﴿۵۸﴾

58. Indeed, Allah is the One Who is the Supreme Sustainer, the Lord of Might, the All-Strong.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 58)

فَاِنَّ لِلَّذِیۡنَ ظَلَمُوۡا ذَنُوۡبًا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوۡبِ اَصۡحٰبِہِمۡ فَلَا یَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنِ ﴿۵۹﴾

59. Indeed, those who commit wrong will have a share (of the torment) like the share of their (earlier) counterparts. So they need not ask Me to hasten on (their fate).

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 59)

فَوَیۡلٌ لِّلَّذِیۡنَ کَفَرُوۡا مِنۡ یَّوۡمِہِمُ الَّذِیۡ یُوۡعَدُوۡنَ ﴿٪۶۰﴾

60. So, woe to the disbelievers for the Day they are promised.

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 60)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the All-Merciful

1. By the scattering (winds) that scatter (the clouds);

والذاريات ذروا

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 1)

2. by the rain-bearing (clouds) loaded with the burden (of water);

فالحاملات وقرا

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 2)

3. by (the ships) which float gently (on the sea);

فالجاريات يسرا

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 3)

4. by (the angels) who distribute (blessings) by (His) command;

فالمقسمات أمرا

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 4)

5. indeed, what you are promised is true.

إنما توعدون لصادق

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 5)

6. And indeed, the judgement (of retributive justice) shall come to pass.

وإن الدين لواقع

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 6)

7. By the sky full of galaxies and pathways (of planets and stars),

والسماء ذات الحبك

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 7)

8. indeed, you are (lost) in conflicting opinions.

إنكم لفي قول مختلف

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 8)

9. Only he is turned away (from the Qur’an) who has been deluded.

يؤفك عنه من أفك

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 9)

10. Ruined are those who tell lies out of conjecture,

قتل الخراصون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 10)

11. those steeped in ignorance and are neglectful (of the Hereafter).

الذين هم في غمرة ساهون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 11)

12. They ask (mockingly): ‘When is the Day of Retribution?’

يسألون أيان يوم الدين

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 12)

13. (Say:) ‘It is the Day (when) they will be tormented over the Fire.’

يوم هم على النار يفتنون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 13)

14. (And they will be told:) ‘Taste your torment. This is what you sought to hasten.’

ذوقوا فتنتكم هذا الذي كنتم به تستعجلون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 14)

15. Indeed, the pious will be (rejoicing) in gardens and springs.

إن المتقين في جنات وعيون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 15)

16. Receiving (delightfully) what their Lord has granted them, for they had been virtuously excellent before that.

آخذين ما آتاهم ربهم إنهم كانوا قبل ذلك محسنين

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 16)

17. They used to sleep only a little during the night.

كانوا قليلا من الليل ما يهجعون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 17)

18. And they would seek forgiveness in the latter part of the night (i.e. before dawn).

وبالأسحار هم يستغفرون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 18)

19. And in their wealth, there was a rightful share for the beggar and the deprived.

وفي أموالهم حق للسائل والمحروم

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 19)

20. Upon the earth, there are signs for those with sure faith,

وفي الأرض آيات للموقنين

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 20)

21. and within yourselves (as well). Do you not then perceive?

وفي أنفسكم أفلا تبصرون

(الذَّارِيَات، 51 : 21)

22. And in the heaven is your sustenance and whatever you are promised.

وفي السماء رزقكم وما توعدون
