وَ اخۡتَارَ مُوۡسٰی قَوۡمَہٗ سَبۡعِیۡنَ رَجُلًا لِّمِیۡقَاتِنَا ۚ فَلَمَّاۤ اَخَذَتۡہُمُ الرَّجۡفَۃُ قَالَ رَبِّ لَوۡ شِئۡتَ اَہۡلَکۡتَہُمۡ مِّنۡ قَبۡلُ وَ اِیَّایَ ؕ اَتُہۡلِکُنَا بِمَا فَعَلَ السُّفَہَآءُ مِنَّا ۚ اِنۡ ہِیَ اِلَّا فِتۡنَتُکَ ؕ تُضِلُّ بِہَا مَنۡ تَشَآءُ وَ تَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ تَشَآءُ ؕ اَنۡتَ وَلِیُّنَا فَاغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَ ارۡحَمۡنَا وَ اَنۡتَ خَیۡرُ الۡغٰفِرِیۡنَ ﴿۱۵۵﴾

155. And Musa (Moses) chose seventy men of his people for Our appointment. So when the earthquake overtook them, he said: ‘My Lord! If You had willed, You could have destroyed them and me long ago. Will You (now) destroy us for what the fools among us have done? It is only Your trial by which You leave to stray whomever You will and guide whomever You please. You are our Master, so forgive us and have mercy upon us. And You are the Best of forgivers.
