وَ اِذۡ قِیۡلَ لَہُمُ اسۡکُنُوۡا ہٰذِہِ الۡقَرۡیَۃَ وَ کُلُوۡا مِنۡہَا حَیۡثُ شِئۡتُمۡ وَ قُوۡلُوۡا حِطَّۃٌ وَّ ادۡخُلُوا الۡبَابَ سُجَّدًا نَّغۡفِرۡ لَکُمۡ خَطِیۡٓـٰٔتِکُمۡ ؕ سَنَزِیۡدُ الۡمُحۡسِنِیۡنَ ﴿۱۶۱﴾
161. And (remember) when it was said to them: ‘Settle in this town* and eat from it wherever you wish, and say: ‘We repent (for all of our sins),’ and enter the gate prostrating, We will forgive you your sins, (and) We shall increase (the reward of) those who excel in virtue.
* The town here refers to Jerusalem, or Ariha (Jericho), or a Palestinian city in the West Bank, or the land of Syria, or the whole of Palestine.
وإذ قيل لهم اسكنوا هـذه القرية وكلوا منها حيث شئتم وقولوا حطة وادخلوا الباب سجدا نغفر لكم خطيئاتكم سنزيد المحسنين
(الْأَعْرَاف، 7 : 161)
