102. Moreover, they follow what the devils fabricated about the kingdom of Sulayman (Solomon). Not that Sulayman (Solomon) was faithless, but the devils themselves were faithless. They used to teach people black magic and what was sent down upon the two angels named Harut and Marut in Babylon. Yet, these two would not teach anyone until they had said, ‘We are only a temptation (to test you); do not renounce your faith (by trusting in black magic).’ However, they learnt (black magic) from both of them by which they could cause separation between husband and wife, although they harm no one with it except by Allah’s Leave. They would learn what would harm them and bring them no benefit. And they certainly knew that anyone who buys it has no share in the Hereafter. Most evil is that for which they sold their souls. Had they known (this)!

واتبعوا ما تتلوا الشياطين على ملك سليمان وما كفر سليمان ولـكن الشياطين كفروا يعلمون الناس السحر وما أنزل على الملكين ببابل هاروت وماروت وما يعلمان من أحد حتى يقولا إنما نحن فتنة فلا تكفر فيتعلمون منهما ما يفرقون به بين المرء وزوجه وما هم بضآرين به من أحد إلا بإذن الله ويتعلمون ما يضرهم ولا ينفعهم ولقد علموا لمن اشتراه ما له في الآخرة من خلاق ولبئس ما شروا به أنفسهم لو كانوا يعلمون
