وَ اِذۡ قُلۡنَا ادۡخُلُوۡا ہٰذِہِ الۡقَرۡیَۃَ فَکُلُوۡا مِنۡہَا حَیۡثُ شِئۡتُمۡ رَغَدًا وَّ ادۡخُلُوا الۡبَابَ سُجَّدًا وَّ قُوۡلُوۡا حِطَّۃٌ نَّغۡفِرۡ لَکُمۡ خَطٰیٰکُمۡ ؕ وَ سَنَزِیۡدُ الۡمُحۡسِنِیۡنَ ﴿۵۸﴾
58. And (remember) when We said: ‘Enter this town,* and eat from it freely wherever you wish, but enter prostrating at the gate (of the town), and say: ‘We repent (for all of our sins),’ that We may forgive your sins. And We shall soon increase the virtuous (in their rewards).’
* The town here is said to be Jerusalem, or Ariha (Jericho), a Palestinian city in the West Bank, or the land of Syria, or Palestine generally.
وإذ قلنا ادخلوا هـذه القرية فكلوا منها حيث شئتم رغدا وادخلوا الباب سجدا وقولوا حطة نغفر لكم خطاياكم وسنزيد المحسنين
(الْبَقَرَة، 2 : 58)
