In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the All-Merciful
طٰسٓمّٓ ﴿۱﴾
1. Ta, Sin, Mim.
طسم
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 1)
اِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ عَلَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ جَعَلَ اَہۡلَہَا شِیَعًا یَّسۡتَضۡعِفُ طَآئِفَۃً مِّنۡہُمۡ یُذَبِّحُ اَبۡنَآءَہُمۡ وَ یَسۡتَحۡیٖ نِسَآءَہُمۡ ؕ اِنَّہٗ کَانَ مِنَ الۡمُفۡسِدِیۡنَ ﴿۴﴾
4. Indeed, Pharaoh had exalted himself in the land and divided its people into factions, oppressing one group among them, slaughtering their sons and sparing their women. Indeed, he was among the corruptors.
إن فرعون علا في الأرض وجعل أهلها شيعا يستضعف طائفة منهم يذبح أبناءهم ويستحيي نساءهم إنه كان من المفسدين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 4)
وَ نُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ نَّمُنَّ عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ اسۡتُضۡعِفُوۡا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ نَجۡعَلَہُمۡ اَئِمَّۃً وَّ نَجۡعَلَہُمُ الۡوٰرِثِیۡنَ ۙ﴿۵﴾
5. We desired to bestow a favour upon those oppressed in the land, to make them leaders and the inheritors (of the kingdom).
ونريد أن نمن على الذين استضعفوا في الأرض ونجعلهم أئمة ونجعلهم الوارثين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 5)
وَ نُمَکِّنَ لَہُمۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ نُرِیَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَ ہَامٰنَ وَ جُنُوۡدَہُمَا مِنۡہُمۡ مَّا کَانُوۡا یَحۡذَرُوۡنَ ﴿۶﴾
6. (We desired) to establish them in the land and make Pharaoh, Haman and their armies see (the fulfilment of) what they were apprehensive of.
ونمكن لهم في الأرض ونري فرعون وهامان وجنودهما منهم ما كانوا يحذرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 6)
وَ اَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ اِلٰۤی اُمِّ مُوۡسٰۤی اَنۡ اَرۡضِعِیۡہِ ۚ فَاِذَا خِفۡتِ عَلَیۡہِ فَاَلۡقِیۡہِ فِی الۡیَمِّ وَ لَا تَخَافِیۡ وَ لَا تَحۡزَنِیۡ ۚ اِنَّا رَآدُّوۡہُ اِلَیۡکِ وَ جَاعِلُوۡہُ مِنَ الۡمُرۡسَلِیۡنَ ﴿۷﴾
7. So We inspired Musa’s mother (saying): ‘Nurse him, but when you fear for him, put him (afloat) into the river and do not fear nor grieve. Indeed, We shall bring him back to you and make him among the messengers.’
وأوحينا إلى أم موسى أن أرضعيه فإذا خفت عليه فألقيه في اليم ولا تخافي ولا تحزني إنا رادوه إليك وجاعلوه من المرسلين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 7)
فَالۡتَقَطَہٗۤ اٰلُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ لِیَکُوۡنَ لَہُمۡ عَدُوًّا وَّ حَزَنًا ؕ اِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَ ہَامٰنَ وَ جُنُوۡدَہُمَا کَانُوۡا خٰطِئِیۡنَ ﴿۸﴾
8. Then Pharaoh’s family picked him up, that he might be an enemy and a (cause of) sorrow to them. Indeed, Pharaoh, Haman and their armies were sinners.
فالتقطه آل فرعون ليكون لهم عدوا وحزنا إن فرعون وهامان وجنودهما كانوا خاطئين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 8)
وَ قَالَتِ امۡرَاَتُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قُرَّتُ عَیۡنٍ لِّیۡ وَ لَکَ ؕ لَا تَقۡتُلُوۡہُ ٭ۖ عَسٰۤی اَنۡ یَّنۡفَعَنَاۤ اَوۡ نَتَّخِذَہٗ وَلَدًا وَّ ہُمۡ لَا یَشۡعُرُوۡنَ ﴿۹﴾
9. Pharaoh’s wife said (to Pharaoh): ‘(This baby seems to be) a source of comfort for me and you. Do not kill him. Perhaps he may benefit us, or we may adopt him as a son.’ Yet, they did not realise (what they were doing).
وقالت امرأت فرعون قرت عين لي ولك لا تقتلوه عسى أن ينفعنا أو نتخذه ولدا وهم لا يشعرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 9)
وَ اَصۡبَحَ فُؤَادُ اُمِّ مُوۡسٰی فٰرِغًا ؕ اِنۡ کَادَتۡ لَتُبۡدِیۡ بِہٖ لَوۡ لَاۤ اَنۡ رَّبَطۡنَا عَلٰی قَلۡبِہَا لِتَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۱۰﴾
10. And the heart of Musa’s mother became empty (of patience). And she would have almost disclosed it if We had not strengthened her heart so that she might be among the believers (in Allah’s plan).
وأصبح فؤاد أم موسى فارغا إن كادت لتبدي به لولا أن ربطنا على قلبها لتكون من المؤمنين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 10)
وَ حَرَّمۡنَا عَلَیۡہِ الۡمَرَاضِعَ مِنۡ قَبۡلُ فَقَالَتۡ ہَلۡ اَدُلُّکُمۡ عَلٰۤی اَہۡلِ بَیۡتٍ یَّکۡفُلُوۡنَہٗ لَکُمۡ وَ ہُمۡ لَہٗ نٰصِحُوۡنَ ﴿۱۲﴾
12. And We had forbidden him to be suckled from the wet nurses since before. So she (i.e. Moses’ sister) said: ‘Shall I show you a household that will take care of him for you, and they will be his well-wishers?’
وحرمنا عليه المراضع من قبل فقالت هل أدلكم على أهل بيت يكفلونه لكم وهم له ناصحون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 12)
فَرَدَدۡنٰہُ اِلٰۤی اُمِّہٖ کَیۡ تَقَرَّ عَیۡنُہَا وَ لَا تَحۡزَنَ وَ لِتَعۡلَمَ اَنَّ وَعۡدَ اللّٰہِ حَقٌّ وَّ لٰکِنَّ اَکۡثَرَہُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ﴿٪۱۳﴾
13. Thus, We returned him to his mother so she might feel comforted and not grieve. And she would know that Allah’s promise is true, though most of them do not know.
فرددناه إلى أمه كي تقر عينها ولا تحزن ولتعلم أن وعد الله حق ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 13)
وَ لَمَّا بَلَغَ اَشُدَّہٗ وَ اسۡتَوٰۤی اٰتَیۡنٰہُ حُکۡمًا وَّ عِلۡمًا ؕ وَ کَذٰلِکَ نَجۡزِی الۡمُحۡسِنِیۡنَ ﴿۱۴﴾
14. So when he reached maturity and was firmly established (in life), We gave him wisdom and knowledge. And thus do We reward the virtuously excellent.
ولما بلغ أشده واستوى آتيناه حكما وعلما وكذلك نجزي المحسنين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 14)
وَ دَخَلَ الۡمَدِیۡنَۃَ عَلٰی حِیۡنِ غَفۡلَۃٍ مِّنۡ اَہۡلِہَا فَوَجَدَ فِیۡہَا رَجُلَیۡنِ یَقۡتَتِلٰنِ ٭۫ ہٰذَا مِنۡ شِیۡعَتِہٖ وَ ہٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّہٖ ۚ فَاسۡتَغَاثَہُ الَّذِیۡ مِنۡ شِیۡعَتِہٖ عَلَی الَّذِیۡ مِنۡ عَدُوِّہٖ ۙ فَوَکَزَہٗ مُوۡسٰی فَقَضٰی عَلَیۡہِ ٭۫ قَالَ ہٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ الشَّیۡطٰنِ ؕ اِنَّہٗ عَدُوٌّ مُّضِلٌّ مُّبِیۡنٌ ﴿۱۵﴾
15. (One day,) he entered the city (in Egypt) at a time of being unnoticed by its people. He found two men fighting there, one from among his followers (i.e. the Children of Israel) and the other from his enemies (i.e. the people of Pharaoh). The one from his followers sought his help against the one from his enemies. So Musa (Moses) punched him and put him to death. He said: ‘This is Satan’s doing. Indeed, he is an enemy (who) openly misguides.’
ودخل المدينة على حين غفلة من أهلها فوجد فيها رجلين يقتتلان هذا من شيعته وهذا من عدوه فاستغاثه الذي من شيعته على الذي من عدوه فوكزه موسى فقضى عليه قال هذا من عمل الشيطان إنه عدو مضل مبين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 15)
قَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِیۡ فَاغۡفِرۡ لِیۡ فَغَفَرَ لَہٗ ؕ اِنَّہٗ ہُوَ الۡغَفُوۡرُ الرَّحِیۡمُ ﴿۱۶﴾
16. He said: ‘My Lord! I have wronged myself. Forgive me.’ So He forgave him. Indeed, He is the Most-Forgiving, the All-Merciful.
قال رب إني ظلمت نفسي فاغفر لي فغفر له إنه هو الغفور الرحيم
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 16)
فَاَصۡبَحَ فِی الۡمَدِیۡنَۃِ خَآئِفًا یَّتَرَقَّبُ فَاِذَا الَّذِی اسۡتَنۡصَرَہٗ بِالۡاَمۡسِ یَسۡتَصۡرِخُہٗ ؕ قَالَ لَہٗ مُوۡسٰۤی اِنَّکَ لَغَوِیٌّ مُّبِیۡنٌ ﴿۱۸﴾
18. He rose early in the morning, fearful and vigilant in the city, when the man who had sought his help the day before suddenly cried out to him (once again). Musa said to him: ‘You are a clear troublemaker.’
فأصبح في المدينة خائفا يترقب فإذا الذي استنصره بالأمس يستصرخه قال له موسى إنك لغوي مبين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 18)
فَلَمَّاۤ اَنۡ اَرَادَ اَنۡ یَّبۡطِشَ بِالَّذِیۡ ہُوَ عَدُوٌّ لَّہُمَا ۙ قَالَ یٰمُوۡسٰۤی اَتُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ تَقۡتُلَنِیۡ کَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسًۢا بِالۡاَمۡسِ ٭ۖ اِنۡ تُرِیۡدُ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ تَکُوۡنَ جَبَّارًا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ مَا تُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ تَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُصۡلِحِیۡنَ ﴿۱۹﴾
19. As he desired to strike the man who was an enemy to them both, he said: ‘Musa (Moses)! Do you want to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You only want to be a tyrant in the land, and you do not want to be among the reformers.’
فلما أن أراد أن يبطش بالذي هو عدو لهما قال يا موسى أتريد أن تقتلني كما قتلت نفسا بالأمس إن تريد إلا أن تكون جبارا في الأرض وما تريد أن تكون من المصلحين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 19)
وَ جَآءَ رَجُلٌ مِّنۡ اَقۡصَا الۡمَدِیۡنَۃِ یَسۡعٰی ۫ قَالَ یٰمُوۡسٰۤی اِنَّ الۡمَلَاَ یَاۡتَمِرُوۡنَ بِکَ لِیَقۡتُلُوۡکَ فَاخۡرُجۡ اِنِّیۡ لَکَ مِنَ النّٰصِحِیۡنَ ﴿۲۰﴾
20. Then a man came running from the remotest part of the city. He said: ‘Musa (Moses)! The authorities are conspiring against you, that they might kill you. So leave (this city). Surely, I am among your well-wishers.’
وجاء رجل من أقصى المدينة يسعى قال يا موسى إن الملأ يأتمرون بك ليقتلوك فاخرج إني لك من الناصحين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 20)
وَ لَمَّا وَرَدَ مَآءَ مَدۡیَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَیۡہِ اُمَّۃً مِّنَ النَّاسِ یَسۡقُوۡنَ ۬۫ وَ وَجَدَ مِنۡ دُوۡنِہِمُ امۡرَاَتَیۡنِ تَذُوۡدٰنِ ۚ قَالَ مَا خَطۡبُکُمَا ؕ قَالَتَا لَا نَسۡقِیۡ حَتّٰی یُصۡدِرَ الرِّعَآءُ ٜ وَ اَبُوۡنَا شَیۡخٌ کَبِیۡرٌ ﴿۲۳﴾
23. When he arrived at the well of Madyan, he found a crowd of people watering (their flocks). He noticed two women keeping (their flocks) back beside them. He said: ‘What is the matter with you two?’ They said: ‘We cannot water (our flocks) until the shepherds take their flocks away, for our father is a very old man.’
ولما ورد ماء مدين وجد عليه أمة من الناس يسقون ووجد من دونهم امرأتين تذودان قال ما خطبكما قالتا لا نسقي حتى يصدر الرعاء وأبونا شيخ كبير
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 23)
فَسَقٰی لَہُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلّٰۤی اِلَی الظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ لِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلۡتَ اِلَیَّ مِنۡ خَیۡرٍ فَقِیۡرٌ ﴿۲۴﴾
24. So he watered (their flocks) for them. Then he went back to the shade and said: ‘My Lord! I am surely in (desperate) need of any good You may send down to me.’
فسقى لهما ثم تولى إلى الظل فقال رب إني لما أنزلت إلي من خير فقير
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 24)
فَجَآءَتۡہُ اِحۡدٰىہُمَا تَمۡشِیۡ عَلَی اسۡتِحۡیَآءٍ ۫ قَالَتۡ اِنَّ اَبِیۡ یَدۡعُوۡکَ لِیَجۡزِیَکَ اَجۡرَ مَا سَقَیۡتَ لَنَا ؕ فَلَمَّا جَآءَہٗ وَ قَصَّ عَلَیۡہِ الۡقَصَصَ ۙ قَالَ لَا تَخَفۡ ٝ۟ نَجَوۡتَ مِنَ الۡقَوۡمِ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۲۵﴾
25. Then one of the two (girls) came to him, walking modestly. She said: ‘Indeed, my father invites you so he may reward you for watering (the flocks) for us. So when he came to him (i.e. Shu‘ayb) and told him (his) story, he said: ‘Do not fear. You are secure from the wrongdoing people.’
فجاءته إحداهما تمشي على استحياء قالت إن أبي يدعوك ليجزيك أجر ما سقيت لنا فلما جاءه وقص عليه القصص قال لا تخف نجوت من القوم الظالمين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 25)
قَالَتۡ اِحۡدٰىہُمَا یٰۤاَبَتِ اسۡتَاۡجِرۡہُ ۫ اِنَّ خَیۡرَ مَنِ اسۡتَاۡجَرۡتَ الۡقَوِیُّ الۡاَمِیۡنُ ﴿۲۶﴾
26. One of the two girls said: ‘Father! Hire him. Indeed, the best (man) you can hire is the strong, the trustworthy.’
قالت إحداهما يا أبت استأجره إن خير من استأجرت القوي الأمين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 26)
قَالَ اِنِّیۡۤ اُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ اُنۡکِحَکَ اِحۡدَی ابۡنَتَیَّ ہٰتَیۡنِ عَلٰۤی اَنۡ تَاۡجُرَنِیۡ ثَمٰنِیَ حِجَجٍ ۚ فَاِنۡ اَتۡمَمۡتَ عَشۡرًا فَمِنۡ عِنۡدِکَ ۚ وَ مَاۤ اُرِیۡدُ اَنۡ اَشُقَّ عَلَیۡکَ ؕ سَتَجِدُنِیۡۤ اِنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ مِنَ الصّٰلِحِیۡنَ ﴿۲۷﴾
27. He said (to Moses): ‘Indeed I desire to marry you to one of these two daughters of mine, on the condition that you hire yourself to serve me for eight years. But if you complete ten, then that will be up to you. And I do not want to be hard on you. God-willing, you will find me to be among the righteous.’
قال إني أريد أن أنكحك إحدى ابنتي هاتين على أن تأجرني ثماني حجج فإن أتممت عشرا فمن عندك وما أريد أن أشق عليك ستجدني إن شاء الله من الصالحين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 27)
قَالَ ذٰلِکَ بَیۡنِیۡ وَ بَیۡنَکَ ؕ اَیَّمَا الۡاَجَلَیۡنِ قَضَیۡتُ فَلَا عُدۡوَانَ عَلَیَّ ؕ وَ اللّٰہُ عَلٰی مَا نَقُوۡلُ وَکِیۡلٌ ﴿٪۲۸﴾
28. He (Moses) said: ‘This is (an agreement) between you and me. Whichever of the two terms I complete, there will be no unfairness towards me. And Allah is a Guardian over what we say.’
قال ذلك بيني وبينك أيما الأجلين قضيت فلا عدوان علي والله على ما نقول وكيل
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 28)
فَلَمَّا قَضٰی مُوۡسَی الۡاَجَلَ وَ سَارَ بِاَہۡلِہٖۤ اٰنَسَ مِنۡ جَانِبِ الطُّوۡرِ نَارًا ۚ قَالَ لِاَہۡلِہِ امۡکُثُوۡۤا اِنِّیۡۤ اٰنَسۡتُ نَارًا لَّعَلِّیۡۤ اٰتِیۡکُمۡ مِّنۡہَا بِخَبَرٍ اَوۡ جَذۡوَۃٍ مِّنَ النَّارِ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَصۡطَلُوۡنَ ﴿۲۹﴾
29. So when Musa (Moses) completed the term and set out with his family, he perceived a fire on the side of the Mount (Tur). He said to his family: ‘Wait (here)! Indeed, I see a fire. Maybe I will bring you some news from there, or (I may bring you) a firebrand so that you may warm yourselves.’
فلما قضى موسى الأجل وسار بأهله آنس من جانب الطور نارا قال لأهله امكثوا إني آنست نارا لعلي آتيكم منها بخبر أو جذوة من النار لعلكم تصطلون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 29)
فَلَمَّاۤ اَتٰىہَا نُوۡدِیَ مِنۡ شَاطِیَٴ الۡوَادِ الۡاَیۡمَنِ فِی الۡبُقۡعَۃِ الۡمُبٰرَکَۃِ مِنَ الشَّجَرَۃِ اَنۡ یّٰمُوۡسٰۤی اِنِّیۡۤ اَنَا اللّٰہُ رَبُّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۳۰﴾
30. So when he came to it, he was called from the right bank of the valley, at the blessed site through the tree: ‘Musa (Moses)! Indeed, I am Allah, the Lord of worlds.
فلما أتاها نودي من شاطئ الوادي الأيمن في البقعة المباركة من الشجرة أن يا موسى إني أنا الله رب العالمين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 30)
وَ اَنۡ اَلۡقِ عَصَاکَ ؕ فَلَمَّا رَاٰہَا تَہۡتَزُّ کَاَنَّہَا جَآنٌّ وَّلّٰی مُدۡبِرًا وَّ لَمۡ یُعَقِّبۡ ؕ یٰمُوۡسٰۤی اَقۡبِلۡ وَ لَا تَخَفۡ ۟ اِنَّکَ مِنَ الۡاٰمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۳۱﴾
31. Throw down your staff!’ But when he saw it moving and slithering like a snake, he turned back, retreating, without looking behind. (Allah said:) ‘Musa (Moses)! Come forward and do not fear. Indeed, you are among those who are secure.
وأن ألق عصاك فلما رآها تهتز كأنها جان ولى مدبرا ولم يعقب يا موسى أقبل ولا تخف إنك من الآمنين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 31)
اُسۡلُکۡ یَدَکَ فِیۡ جَیۡبِکَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَیۡضَآءَ مِنۡ غَیۡرِ سُوۡٓءٍ ۫ وَّ اضۡمُمۡ اِلَیۡکَ جَنَاحَکَ مِنَ الرَّہۡبِ فَذٰنِکَ بُرۡہَانٰنِ مِنۡ رَّبِّکَ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَ مَلَا۠ئِہٖ ؕ اِنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا قَوۡمًا فٰسِقِیۡنَ ﴿۳۲﴾
32. Put your hand inside the opening of your garment; it will emerge white without any disease, and keep your arms pressed close to your sides to remove fear. These are two proofs from your Lord to Pharaoh and his council. They are indeed a transgressing people.’
اسلك يدك في جيبك تخرج بيضاء من غير سوء واضمم إليك جناحك من الرهب فذانك برهانان من ربك إلى فرعون وملئه إنهم كانوا قوما فاسقين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 32)
وَ اَخِیۡ ہٰرُوۡنُ ہُوَ اَفۡصَحُ مِنِّیۡ لِسَانًا فَاَرۡسِلۡہُ مَعِیَ رِدۡاً یُّصَدِّقُنِیۡۤ ۫ اِنِّیۡۤ اَخَافُ اَنۡ یُّکَذِّبُوۡنِ ﴿۳۴﴾
34. And my brother, Harun (Aaron)—he is more eloquent than me in speech. So send him with me as a helper to verify me, for I fear they would reject me.’
وأخي هارون هو أفصح مني لسانا فأرسله معي ردءا يصدقني إني أخاف أن يكذبون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 34)
قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَکَ بِاَخِیۡکَ وَ نَجۡعَلُ لَکُمَا سُلۡطٰنًا فَلَا یَصِلُوۡنَ اِلَیۡکُمَا ۚۛ بِاٰیٰتِنَاۤ ۚۛ اَنۡتُمَا وَ مَنِ اتَّبَعَکُمَا الۡغٰلِبُوۡنَ ﴿۳۵﴾
35. He (Allah) said: ‘We will strengthen your arm through your brother. And We will grant you both a dominating authority, so they shall not be able to touch you both. With (the help of) Our signs, you and those who follow you shall be the victors.
قال سنشد عضدك بأخيك ونجعل لكما سلطانا فلا يصلون إليكما بآياتنا أنتما ومن اتبعكما الغالبون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 35)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَہُمۡ مُّوۡسٰی بِاٰیٰتِنَا بَیِّنٰتٍ قَالُوۡا مَا ہٰذَاۤ اِلَّا سِحۡرٌ مُّفۡتَرًی وَّ مَا سَمِعۡنَا بِہٰذَا فِیۡۤ اٰبَآئِنَا الۡاَوَّلِیۡنَ ﴿۳۶﴾
36. So when Musa (Moses) came to them with Our clear signs, they said: ‘This is nothing but fabricated magic. And We have never heard of such a thing among our forefathers.’
فلما جاءهم موسى بآياتنا بينات قالوا ما هذا إلا سحر مفترى وما سمعنا بهذا في آبائنا الأولين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 36)
وَ قَالَ مُوۡسٰی رَبِّیۡۤ اَعۡلَمُ بِمَنۡ جَآءَ بِالۡہُدٰی مِنۡ عِنۡدِہٖ وَ مَنۡ تَکُوۡنُ لَہٗ عَاقِبَۃُ الدَّارِ ؕ اِنَّہٗ لَا یُفۡلِحُ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۳۷﴾
37. And Musa (Moses) said: ‘My Lord knows best who brings guidance from Him, and whose shall be the good end in the final abode. Indeed, the wrongdoers will not prosper.’
وقال موسى ربي أعلم بمن جاء بالهدى من عنده ومن تكون له عاقبة الدار إنه لا يفلح الظالمون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 37)
وَ قَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ یٰۤاَیُّہَا الۡمَلَاُ مَا عَلِمۡتُ لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ اِلٰہٍ غَیۡرِیۡ ۚ فَاَوۡقِدۡ لِیۡ یٰہَامٰنُ عَلَی الطِّیۡنِ فَاجۡعَلۡ لِّیۡ صَرۡحًا لَّعَلِّیۡۤ اَطَّلِعُ اِلٰۤی اِلٰہِ مُوۡسٰی ۙ وَ اِنِّیۡ لَاَظُنُّہٗ مِنَ الۡکٰذِبِیۡنَ ﴿۳۸﴾
38. And Pharaoh said: ‘O chief councillors! I know of no other god for you but myself. So, kindle for me a fire, O Haman, to bake clay bricks. Then build me a tower so that I may take a look at Musa’s God. And most surely, I think he is among the liars.’
وقال فرعون يا أيها الملأ ما علمت لكم من إله غيري فأوقد لي يا هامان على الطين فاجعل لي صرحا لعلي أطلع إلى إله موسى وإني لأظنه من الكاذبين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 38)
وَ اسۡتَکۡبَرَ ہُوَ وَ جُنُوۡدُہٗ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ الۡحَقِّ وَ ظَنُّوۡۤا اَنَّہُمۡ اِلَیۡنَا لَا یُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴿۳۹﴾
39. He and his forces behaved arrogantly in the land with no right and thought they would not be returned to Us.
واستكبر هو وجنوده في الأرض بغير الحق وظنوا أنهم إلينا لا يرجعون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 39)
فَاَخَذۡنٰہُ وَ جُنُوۡدَہٗ فَنَبَذۡنٰہُمۡ فِی الۡیَمِّ ۚ فَانۡظُرۡ کَیۡفَ کَانَ عَاقِبَۃُ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۴۰﴾
40. So We seized him and his forces and threw them into the sea. And see how (terrible) was the end of the tyrants!
فأخذناه وجنوده فنبذناهم في اليم فانظر كيف كان عاقبة الظالمين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 40)
وَ جَعَلۡنٰہُمۡ اَئِمَّۃً یَّدۡعُوۡنَ اِلَی النَّارِ ۚ وَ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ لَا یُنۡصَرُوۡنَ ﴿۴۱﴾
41. So We made them (such) leaders who invite (others) only to the Fire. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will not be helped.
وجعلناهم أئمة يدعون إلى النار ويوم القيامة لا ينصرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 41)
وَ اَتۡبَعۡنٰہُمۡ فِیۡ ہٰذِہِ الدُّنۡیَا لَعۡنَۃً ۚ وَ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ ہُمۡ مِّنَ الۡمَقۡبُوۡحِیۡنَ ﴿٪۴۲﴾
42. And We caused them to be followed by a curse in this world. And on the Day of Resurrection, they will be among the repugnant.
وأتبعناهم في هذه الدنيا لعنة ويوم القيامة هم من المقبوحين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 42)
وَ لَقَدۡ اٰتَیۡنَا مُوۡسَی الۡکِتٰبَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَاۤ اَہۡلَکۡنَا الۡقُرُوۡنَ الۡاُوۡلٰی بَصَآئِرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَ ہُدًی وَّ رَحۡمَۃً لَّعَلَّہُمۡ یَتَذَکَّرُوۡنَ ﴿۴۳﴾
43. Indeed, We gave Musa (Moses) the Book after We had destroyed the earlier generations, as (a set of) eye-openers for the people, and as guidance and mercy so that they might become mindful of advice.
ولقد آتينا موسى الكتاب من بعد ما أهلكنا القرون الأولى بصائر للناس وهدى ورحمة لعلهم يتذكرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 43)
وَ مَا کُنۡتَ بِجَانِبِ الۡغَرۡبِیِّ اِذۡ قَضَیۡنَاۤ اِلٰی مُوۡسَی الۡاَمۡرَ وَ مَا کُنۡتَ مِنَ الشّٰہِدِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۴۴﴾
44. And you were not (present) at the western side (of Mount Sinai) when We revealed the commandment to Musa (Moses), nor were you among the witnesses (of these events).
وما كنت بجانب الغربي إذ قضينا إلى موسى الأمر وما كنت من الشاهدين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 44)
وَ لٰکِنَّاۤ اَنۡشَاۡنَا قُرُوۡنًا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَیۡہِمُ الۡعُمُرُ ۚ وَ مَا کُنۡتَ ثَاوِیًا فِیۡۤ اَہۡلِ مَدۡیَنَ تَتۡلُوۡا عَلَیۡہِمۡ اٰیٰتِنَا ۙ وَ لٰکِنَّا کُنَّا مُرۡسِلِیۡنَ ﴿۴۵﴾
45. But We brought forth many generations (successively after Moses). Then, long ages passed over them. And you were not living among the people of Madyan reciting to them Our verses, but We are the senders (of the prophets with news of the Unseen).
ولكنا أنشأنا قرونا فتطاول عليهم العمر وما كنت ثاويا في أهل مدين تتلوا عليهم آياتنا ولكنا كنا مرسلين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 45)
وَ مَا کُنۡتَ بِجَانِبِ الطُّوۡرِ اِذۡ نَادَیۡنَا وَ لٰکِنۡ رَّحۡمَۃً مِّنۡ رَّبِّکَ لِتُنۡذِرَ قَوۡمًا مَّاۤ اَتٰىہُمۡ مِّنۡ نَّذِیۡرٍ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِکَ لَعَلَّہُمۡ یَتَذَکَّرُوۡنَ ﴿۴۶﴾
46. And you were not on the side of the Mount when We called out (to Moses). But (We have sent you as) a mercy from your Lord that you may warn a people to whom no warner has come before you, so that they may become mindful of advice.
وما كنت بجانب الطور إذ نادينا ولكن رحمة من ربك لتنذر قوما ما أتاهم من نذير من قبلك لعلهم يتذكرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 46)
وَ لَوۡ لَاۤ اَنۡ تُصِیۡبَہُمۡ مُّصِیۡبَۃٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ اَیۡدِیۡہِمۡ فَیَقُوۡلُوۡا رَبَّنَا لَوۡ لَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡتَ اِلَیۡنَا رَسُوۡلًا فَنَتَّبِعَ اٰیٰتِکَ وَ نَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۴۷﴾
47. And (We did so) lest a disaster strikes them because of what their hands have sent forth—they would say: ‘Our Lord! Why did You not send a messenger to us so that we could have followed Your revelations and been among the believers?’
ولولا أن تصيبهم مصيبة بما قدمت أيديهم فيقولوا ربنا لولا أرسلت إلينا رسولا فنتبع آياتك ونكون من المؤمنين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 47)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَہُمُ الۡحَقُّ مِنۡ عِنۡدِنَا قَالُوۡا لَوۡ لَاۤ اُوۡتِیَ مِثۡلَ مَاۤ اُوۡتِیَ مُوۡسٰی ؕ اَوَ لَمۡ یَکۡفُرُوۡا بِمَاۤ اُوۡتِیَ مُوۡسٰی مِنۡ قَبۡلُ ۚ قَالُوۡا سِحۡرٰنِ تَظٰہَرَا ۟ٝ وَ قَالُوۡۤا اِنَّا بِکُلٍّ کٰفِرُوۡنَ ﴿۴۸﴾
48. But when the truth came to them from Us, they said: ‘Why has he not been given (signs) like those given to Musa (Moses)?’ Did they not disbelieve in what Musa (Moses) was given before? They said: ‘Two magicians supporting each other.’ And they said: ‘We refuse to believe any of them.’
فلما جاءهم الحق من عندنا قالوا لولا أوتي مثل ما أوتي موسى أولم يكفروا بما أوتي موسى من قبل قالوا سحران تظاهرا وقالوا إنا بكل كافرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 48)
قُلۡ فَاۡتُوۡا بِکِتٰبٍ مِّنۡ عِنۡدِ اللّٰہِ ہُوَ اَہۡدٰی مِنۡہُمَاۤ اَتَّبِعۡہُ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِیۡنَ ﴿۴۹﴾
49. Say: ‘Then produce some (other) book from Allah, which is better in guidance than both of them, so that I may follow it if you are truthful.’
قل فأتوا بكتاب من عند الله هو أهدى منهما أتبعه إن كنتم صادقين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 49)
فَاِنۡ لَّمۡ یَسۡتَجِیۡبُوۡا لَکَ فَاعۡلَمۡ اَنَّمَا یَتَّبِعُوۡنَ اَہۡوَآءَہُمۡ ؕ وَ مَنۡ اَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ اتَّبَعَ ہَوٰىہُ بِغَیۡرِ ہُدًی مِّنَ اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یَہۡدِی الۡقَوۡمَ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿٪۵۰﴾
50. But if they do not answer you, then know that they follow only their desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his base desires without any guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
فإن لم يستجيبوا لك فاعلم أنما يتبعون أهواءهم ومن أضل ممن اتبع هواه بغير هدى من الله إن الله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 50)
وَ اِذَا یُتۡلٰی عَلَیۡہِمۡ قَالُوۡۤا اٰمَنَّا بِہٖۤ اِنَّہُ الۡحَقُّ مِنۡ رَّبِّنَاۤ اِنَّا کُنَّا مِنۡ قَبۡلِہٖ مُسۡلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۵۳﴾
53. When it is recited to them, they say: ‘We believe in it. It is surely the truth from our Lord. Indeed, we were the ones who submitted (even) before it (came).’
وإذا يتلى عليهم قالوا آمنا به إنه الحق من ربنا إنا كنا من قبله مسلمين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 53)
اُولٰٓئِکَ یُؤۡتَوۡنَ اَجۡرَہُمۡ مَّرَّتَیۡنِ بِمَا صَبَرُوۡا وَ یَدۡرَءُوۡنَ بِالۡحَسَنَۃِ السَّیِّئَۃَ وَ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰہُمۡ یُنۡفِقُوۡنَ ﴿۵۴﴾
54. These (believers) will be given their reward two times for having been patient. They repel evil with good and spend (in charity) from what We have provided them.
أولئك يؤتون أجرهم مرتين بما صبروا ويدرؤون بالحسنة السيئة ومما رزقناهم ينفقون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 54)
وَ اِذَا سَمِعُوا اللَّغۡوَ اَعۡرَضُوۡا عَنۡہُ وَ قَالُوۡا لَنَاۤ اَعۡمَالُنَا وَ لَکُمۡ اَعۡمَالُکُمۡ ۫ سَلٰمٌ عَلَیۡکُمۡ ۫ لَا نَبۡتَغِی الۡجٰہِلِیۡنَ ﴿۵۵﴾
55. And when they hear vain talk, they turn away from it and say: ‘Our deeds belong to us, and your deeds belong to you. Peace be upon you! We do not seek (the company of) ignorant people.’
وإذا سمعوا اللغو أعرضوا عنه وقالوا لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم سلام عليكم لا نبتغي الجاهلين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 55)
اِنَّکَ لَا تَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ اَحۡبَبۡتَ وَ لٰکِنَّ اللّٰہَ یَہۡدِیۡ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ ۚ وَ ہُوَ اَعۡلَمُ بِالۡمُہۡتَدِیۡنَ ﴿۵۶﴾
56. You cannot guide whomever you wish, but Allah guides whomever He wills. And He knows best who are (rightly) guided.
إنك لا تهدي من أحببت ولكن الله يهدي من يشاء وهو أعلم بالمهتدين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 56)
وَ قَالُوۡۤا اِنۡ نَّتَّبِعِ الۡہُدٰی مَعَکَ نُتَخَطَّفۡ مِنۡ اَرۡضِنَا ؕ اَوَ لَمۡ نُمَکِّنۡ لَّہُمۡ حَرَمًا اٰمِنًا یُّجۡبٰۤی اِلَیۡہِ ثَمَرٰتُ کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ رِّزۡقًا مِّنۡ لَّدُنَّا وَ لٰکِنَّ اَکۡثَرَہُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ﴿۵۷﴾
57. They say: ‘If we follow the guidance with you, we shall be snatched away from our land.’ Have We not established a secure Sanctuary (i.e. Mecca) for them, where fruits of all kinds are brought as a provision from Us? But most of them do not know.
وقالوا إن نتبع الهدى معك نتخطف من أرضنا أولم نمكن لهم حرما آمنا يجبى إليه ثمرات كل شيء رزقا من لدنا ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 57)
وَ کَمۡ اَہۡلَکۡنَا مِنۡ قَرۡیَۃٍۭ بَطِرَتۡ مَعِیۡشَتَہَا ۚ فَتِلۡکَ مَسٰکِنُہُمۡ لَمۡ تُسۡکَنۡ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِہِمۡ اِلَّا قَلِیۡلًا ؕ وَ کُنَّا نَحۡنُ الۡوٰرِثِیۡنَ ﴿۵۸﴾
58. How many a town have We destroyed who were spoiled by their (high standard of) living? So these are their (ruined) houses that were never inhabited after them except a few. And We are the (sole) Inheritors.
وكم أهلكنا من قرية بطرت معيشتها فتلك مساكنهم لم تسكن من بعدهم إلا قليلا وكنا نحن الوارثين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 58)
وَ مَا کَانَ رَبُّکَ مُہۡلِکَ الۡقُرٰی حَتّٰی یَبۡعَثَ فِیۡۤ اُمِّہَا رَسُوۡلًا یَّتۡلُوۡا عَلَیۡہِمۡ اٰیٰتِنَا ۚ وَ مَا کُنَّا مُہۡلِکِی الۡقُرٰۤی اِلَّا وَ اَہۡلُہَا ظٰلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۵۹﴾
59. And your Lord would never destroy the towns until He had raised a messenger in their mother city to recite to them Our Verses. And We would never destroy the towns except when their people were wrongdoers.
وما كان ربك مهلك القرى حتى يبعث في أمها رسولا يتلوا عليهم آياتنا وما كنا مهلكي القرى إلا وأهلها ظالمون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 59)
وَ مَاۤ اُوۡتِیۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ شَیۡءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا وَ زِیۡنَتُہَا ۚ وَ مَا عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ خَیۡرٌ وَّ اَبۡقٰی ؕ اَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُوۡنَ ﴿٪۶۰﴾
60. And whatever things you have been given are only the (temporary) enjoyments of the life of this world and its glamour. But whatever lies with Allah is better and more lasting. Do you not then understand?
وما أوتيتم من شيء فمتاع الحياة الدنيا وزينتها وما عند الله خير وأبقى أفلا تعقلون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 60)
اَفَمَنۡ وَّعَدۡنٰہُ وَعۡدًا حَسَنًا فَہُوَ لَاقِیۡہِ کَمَنۡ مَّتَّعۡنٰہُ مَتَاعَ الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا ثُمَّ ہُوَ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ مِنَ الۡمُحۡضَرِیۡنَ ﴿۶۱﴾
61. Can the person to whom We have given a good promise, which he will receive, be like him whom We have provided the (momentary) enjoyment in the life of this world, then, on the Day of Resurrection, he shall be among those who are summoned (to account for their deeds)?
أفمن وعدناه وعدا حسنا فهو لاقيه كمن متعناه متاع الحياة الدنيا ثم هو يوم القيامة من المحضرين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 61)
قَالَ الَّذِیۡنَ حَقَّ عَلَیۡہِمُ الۡقَوۡلُ رَبَّنَا ہٰۤؤُلَآءِ الَّذِیۡنَ اَغۡوَیۡنَا ۚ اَغۡوَیۡنٰہُمۡ کَمَا غَوَیۡنَا ۚ تَبَرَّاۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ ۫ مَا کَانُوۡۤا اِیَّانَا یَعۡبُدُوۡنَ ﴿۶۳﴾
63. Those (deviant leaders) against whom the decree (of torment) will be passed will say: ‘Our Lord! These (followers) are the ones whom we caused to deviate. We led them into deviance, for we were deviant ourselves. We disassociate ourselves (from them) before You. It was not us whom they worshipped. (Rather they worshipped their lusts).’
قال الذين حق عليهم القول ربنا هؤلاء الذين أغوينا أغويناهم كما غوينا تبرأنا إليك ما كانوا إيانا يعبدون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 63)
وَ قِیۡلَ ادۡعُوۡا شُرَکَآءَکُمۡ فَدَعَوۡہُمۡ فَلَمۡ یَسۡتَجِیۡبُوۡا لَہُمۡ وَ رَاَوُا الۡعَذَابَ ۚ لَوۡ اَنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا یَہۡتَدُوۡنَ ﴿۶۴﴾
64. It will be said (to the disbelievers): ‘Invoke your (self-made) partner-gods (for help)!’ So they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them. And they will see the punishment, wishing they had followed guidance!
وقيل ادعوا شركاءكم فدعوهم فلم يستجيبوا لهم ورأوا العذاب لو أنهم كانوا يهتدون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 64)
وَ رَبُّکَ یَخۡلُقُ مَا یَشَآءُ وَ یَخۡتَارُ ؕ مَا کَانَ لَہُمُ الۡخِیَرَۃُ ؕ سُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰہِ وَ تَعٰلٰی عَمَّا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ ﴿۶۸﴾
68. And your Lord creates whatever He wishes and chooses. They have no choice. Glory be to Allah, and Exalted is He above any partners they ascribe (to Him).
وربك يخلق ما يشاء ويختار ما كان لهم الخيرة سبحان الله وتعالى عما يشركون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 68)
وَ ہُوَ اللّٰہُ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ؕ لَہُ الۡحَمۡدُ فِی الۡاُوۡلٰی وَ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ ۫ وَ لَہُ الۡحُکۡمُ وَ اِلَیۡہِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴿۷۰﴾
70. And He is Allah—there is no god except Him. All praise belongs to Him in this world and the Hereafter. (Final) judgement belongs to Him. And to Him, you shall be returned.
وهو الله لا إله إلا هو له الحمد في الأولى والآخرة وله الحكم وإليه ترجعون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 70)
قُلۡ اَرَءَیۡتُمۡ اِنۡ جَعَلَ اللّٰہُ عَلَیۡکُمُ الَّیۡلَ سَرۡمَدًا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ مَنۡ اِلٰہٌ غَیۡرُ اللّٰہِ یَاۡتِیۡکُمۡ بِضِیَآءٍ ؕ اَفَلَا تَسۡمَعُوۡنَ ﴿۷۱﴾
71. Say: ‘Tell me: If Allah were to make the night perpetual over you till the Day of Resurrection, what god besides Allah could bring you light? Will you not then listen?’
قل أرأيتم إن جعل الله عليكم الليل سرمدا إلى يوم القيامة من إله غير الله يأتيكم بضياء أفلا تسمعون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 71)
قُلۡ اَرَءَیۡتُمۡ اِنۡ جَعَلَ اللّٰہُ عَلَیۡکُمُ النَّہَارَ سَرۡمَدًا اِلٰی یَوۡمِ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ مَنۡ اِلٰہٌ غَیۡرُ اللّٰہِ یَاۡتِیۡکُمۡ بِلَیۡلٍ تَسۡکُنُوۡنَ فِیۡہِ ؕ اَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُوۡنَ ﴿۷۲﴾
72. Say: ‘Tell me: If Allah were to make the day perpetual over you till the Day of Resurrection, what god besides Allah could bring you night, in which you could rest? Will you not then see?’
قل أرأيتم إن جعل الله عليكم النهار سرمدا إلى يوم القيامة من إله غير الله يأتيكم بليل تسكنون فيه أفلا تبصرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 72)
وَ مِنۡ رَّحۡمَتِہٖ جَعَلَ لَکُمُ الَّیۡلَ وَ النَّہَارَ لِتَسۡکُنُوۡا فِیۡہِ وَ لِتَبۡتَغُوۡا مِنۡ فَضۡلِہٖ وَ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تَشۡکُرُوۡنَ ﴿۷۳﴾
73. Out of His mercy, He has made for you the night and the day that you may rest therein and seek from His grace so that you may be grateful.
ومن رحمته جعل لكم الليل والنهار لتسكنوا فيه ولتبتغوا من فضله ولعلكم تشكرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 73)
وَ نَزَعۡنَا مِنۡ کُلِّ اُمَّۃٍ شَہِیۡدًا فَقُلۡنَا ہَاتُوۡا بُرۡہَانَکُمۡ فَعَلِمُوۡۤا اَنَّ الۡحَقَّ لِلّٰہِ وَ ضَلَّ عَنۡہُمۡ مَّا کَانُوۡا یَفۡتَرُوۡنَ ﴿٪۷۵﴾
75. And We shall draw from every community a witness and say: ‘Produce your evidence.’ Then they will know that all truth belongs to Allah, and what they used to fabricate will depart from them.
ونزعنا من كل أمة شهيدا فقلنا هاتوا برهانكم فعلموا أن الحق لله وضل عنهم ما كانوا يفترون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 75)
اِنَّ قَارُوۡنَ کَانَ مِنۡ قَوۡمِ مُوۡسٰی فَبَغٰی عَلَیۡہِمۡ ۪ وَ اٰتَیۡنٰہُ مِنَ الۡکُنُوۡزِ مَاۤ اِنَّ مَفَاتِحَہٗ لَتَنُوۡٓاُ بِالۡعُصۡبَۃِ اُولِی الۡقُوَّۃِ ٭ اِذۡ قَالَ لَہٗ قَوۡمُہٗ لَا تَفۡرَحۡ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُحِبُّ الۡفَرِحِیۡنَ ﴿۷۶﴾
76. Indeed, Qarun (Korah) belonged to the people of Musa (Moses), but he rebelled against them. And We had given him so many treasures that their keys would be a heavy burden for a group of strong men. When his people said to him: ‘Do not be proud (of your wealth). Indeed, Allah does not like the boastful.
إن قارون كان من قوم موسى فبغى عليهم وآتيناه من الكنوز ما إن مفاتحه لتنوء بالعصبة أولي القوة إذ قال له قومه لا تفرح إن الله لا يحب الفرحين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 76)
وَ ابۡتَغِ فِیۡمَاۤ اٰتٰىکَ اللّٰہُ الدَّارَ الۡاٰخِرَۃَ وَ لَا تَنۡسَ نَصِیۡبَکَ مِنَ الدُّنۡیَا وَ اَحۡسِنۡ کَمَاۤ اَحۡسَنَ اللّٰہُ اِلَیۡکَ وَ لَا تَبۡغِ الۡفَسَادَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ لَا یُحِبُّ الۡمُفۡسِدِیۡنَ ﴿۷۷﴾
77. Rather seek (the reward of) the abode of the Hereafter through what Allah has given you, and do not neglect your rightful share of this world. And be good (to others) as Allah has been good to you. And do not seek to spread corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like the corruptors.’
وابتغ فيما آتاك الله الدار الآخرة ولا تنس نصيبك من الدنيا وأحسن كما أحسن الله إليك ولا تبغ الفساد في الأرض إن الله لا يحب المفسدين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 77)
قَالَ اِنَّمَاۤ اُوۡتِیۡتُہٗ عَلٰی عِلۡمٍ عِنۡدِیۡ ؕ اَوَ لَمۡ یَعۡلَمۡ اَنَّ اللّٰہَ قَدۡ اَہۡلَکَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہٖ مِنَ الۡقُرُوۡنِ مَنۡ ہُوَ اَشَدُّ مِنۡہُ قُوَّۃً وَّ اَکۡثَرُ جَمۡعًا ؕ وَ لَا یُسۡـَٔلُ عَنۡ ذُنُوۡبِہِمُ الۡمُجۡرِمُوۡنَ ﴿۷۸﴾
78. He said: ‘I have indeed been given (all) this (wealth) because of the knowledge (and expertise) I possess.’ Did he not know that Allah had already destroyed before him many generations who were far mightier than him in power and greater in accumulating (wealth)? And the guilty will not be questioned about (their excuse for) their sins.
قال إنما أوتيته على علم عندي أولم يعلم أن الله قد أهلك من قبله من القرون من هو أشد منه قوة وأكثر جمعا ولا يسأل عن ذنوبهم المجرمون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 78)
فَخَرَجَ عَلٰی قَوۡمِہٖ فِیۡ زِیۡنَتِہٖ ؕ قَالَ الَّذِیۡنَ یُرِیۡدُوۡنَ الۡحَیٰوۃَ الدُّنۡیَا یٰلَیۡتَ لَنَا مِثۡلَ مَاۤ اُوۡتِیَ قَارُوۡنُ ۙ اِنَّہٗ لَذُوۡ حَظٍّ عَظِیۡمٍ ﴿۷۹﴾
79. So he emerged before his people in his adornment. Those who desired the life of this world said: ‘We wish we had the likes of what Qarun (Korah) has been given! Indeed, he is a possessor of great fortune.’
فخرج على قومه في زينته قال الذين يريدون الحياة الدنيا يا ليت لنا مثل ما أوتي قارون إنه لذو حظ عظيم
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 79)
وَ قَالَ الَّذِیۡنَ اُوۡتُوا الۡعِلۡمَ وَیۡلَکُمۡ ثَوَابُ اللّٰہِ خَیۡرٌ لِّمَنۡ اٰمَنَ وَ عَمِلَ صَالِحًا ۚ وَ لَا یُلَقّٰہَاۤ اِلَّا الصّٰبِرُوۡنَ ﴿۸۰﴾
80. But those gifted with knowledge said: ‘Woe to you! Allah’s reward is better for someone who believes and acts righteously. But no one will receive it except the patient.’
وقال الذين أوتوا العلم ويلكم ثواب الله خير لمن آمن وعمل صالحا ولا يلقاها إلا الصابرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 80)
فَخَسَفۡنَا بِہٖ وَ بِدَارِہِ الۡاَرۡضَ ۟ فَمَا کَانَ لَہٗ مِنۡ فِئَۃٍ یَّنۡصُرُوۡنَہٗ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ ٭ وَ مَا کَانَ مِنَ الۡمُنۡتَصِرِیۡنَ ﴿۸۱﴾
81. So We caused the earth to swallow him and his house. And he had no group that could help him apart from Allah, nor could he defend himself.
فخسفنا به وبداره الأرض فما كان له من فئة ينصرونه من دون الله وما كان من المنتصرين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 81)
وَ اَصۡبَحَ الَّذِیۡنَ تَمَنَّوۡا مَکَانَہٗ بِالۡاَمۡسِ یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ وَیۡکَاَنَّ اللّٰہَ یَبۡسُطُ الرِّزۡقَ لِمَنۡ یَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِہٖ وَ یَقۡدِرُ ۚ لَوۡ لَاۤ اَنۡ مَّنَّ اللّٰہُ عَلَیۡنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَا ؕ وَیۡکَاَنَّہٗ لَا یُفۡلِحُ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ ﴿٪۸۲﴾
82. The next morning, those who had longed to be in his place the day before began to say: ‘Alas! It seems Allah provides abundantly to whom He wills among His servants and tightens it. Had Allah not been gracious to us, He would have also caused us to be swallowed. Alas! It seems the disbelievers will not prosper.’
وأصبح الذين تمنوا مكانه بالأمس يقولون ويكأن الله يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء من عباده ويقدر لولا أن من الله علينا لخسف بنا ويكأنه لا يفلح الكافرون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 82)
تِلۡکَ الدَّارُ الۡاٰخِرَۃُ نَجۡعَلُہَا لِلَّذِیۡنَ لَا یُرِیۡدُوۡنَ عُلُوًّا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ لَا فَسَادًا ؕ وَ الۡعَاقِبَۃُ لِلۡمُتَّقِیۡنَ ﴿۸۳﴾
83. That is the Abode of the Hereafter. We grant it to those who desire neither dominance upon the earth nor corruption. And the good end belongs to those who are God-conscious.
تلك الدار الآخرة نجعلها للذين لا يريدون علوا في الأرض ولا فسادا والعاقبة للمتقين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 83)
مَنۡ جَآءَ بِالۡحَسَنَۃِ فَلَہٗ خَیۡرٌ مِّنۡہَا ۚ وَ مَنۡ جَآءَ بِالسَّیِّئَۃِ فَلَا یُجۡزَی الَّذِیۡنَ عَمِلُوا السَّیِّاٰتِ اِلَّا مَا کَانُوۡا یَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۸۴﴾
84. Whosoever brings a good deed, he shall receive (a reward) better than it. But whoever produces evil deed—those who commit misdeeds shall not be rewarded except for what they used to perform.
من جاء بالحسنة فله خير منها ومن جاء بالسيئة فلا يجزى الذين عملوا السيئات إلا ما كانوا يعملون
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 84)
اِنَّ الَّذِیۡ فَرَضَ عَلَیۡکَ الۡقُرۡاٰنَ لَرَآدُّکَ اِلٰی مَعَادٍ ؕ قُلۡ رَّبِّیۡۤ اَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ جَآءَ بِالۡہُدٰی وَ مَنۡ ہُوَ فِیۡ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِیۡنٍ ﴿۸۵﴾
85. Indeed, the One Who has ordained the Qur’an for you will surely bring you back to the place of return (i.e. Mecca). Say: ‘My Lord knows best who has come with guidance and who is in manifest error.’
* This Verse was revealed at Hajfa whilst migrating from Mecca on the way to Medina. This promise was fulfilled on the day of the Meccan Victory.
إن الذي فرض عليك القرآن لرادك إلى معاد قل ربي أعلم من جاء بالهدى ومن هو في ضلال مبين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 85)
وَ مَا کُنۡتَ تَرۡجُوۡۤا اَنۡ یُّلۡقٰۤی اِلَیۡکَ الۡکِتٰبُ اِلَّا رَحۡمَۃً مِّنۡ رَّبِّکَ فَلَا تَکُوۡنَنَّ ظَہِیۡرًا لِّلۡکٰفِرِیۡنَ ﴿۫۸۶﴾
86. You did not hope that the Book would be delivered to you. But it was a mercy from your Lord. So do not ever be an advocate of the disbelievers (to protect them from My torment).
وما كنت ترجوا أن يلقى إليك الكتاب إلا رحمة من ربك فلا تكونن ظهيرا للكافرين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 86)
وَ لَا یَصُدُّنَّکَ عَنۡ اٰیٰتِ اللّٰہِ بَعۡدَ اِذۡ اُنۡزِلَتۡ اِلَیۡکَ وَ ادۡعُ اِلٰی رَبِّکَ وَ لَا تَکُوۡنَنَّ مِنَ الۡمُشۡرِکِیۡنَ ﴿ۚ۸۷﴾
87. Do not ever let them bar you from (conveying) Allah’s revelations after they have been sent down to you. Invite (all) to (the way of) your Lord, and never be among the polytheists.
ولا يصدنك عن آيات الله بعد إذ أنزلت إليك وادع إلى ربك ولا تكونن من المشركين
(الْقَصَص، 28 : 87)
وَ لَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ اللّٰہِ اِلٰـہًا اٰخَرَ ۘ لَاۤ اِلٰہَ اِلَّا ہُوَ ۟ کُلُّ شَیۡءٍ ہَالِکٌ اِلَّا وَجۡہَہٗ ؕ لَہُ الۡحُکۡمُ وَ اِلَیۡہِ تُرۡجَعُوۡنَ ﴿٪۸۸﴾
