In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the All-Merciful
اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِالۡاٰخِرَۃِ زَیَّنَّا لَہُمۡ اَعۡمَالَہُمۡ فَہُمۡ یَعۡمَہُوۡنَ ؕ﴿۴﴾
4. As for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made their (evil) deeds fair-seeming to them. So they are wandering blindly.
إن الذين لا يؤمنون بالآخرة زينا لهم أعمالهم فهم يعمهون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 4)
اِذۡ قَالَ مُوۡسٰی لِاَہۡلِہٖۤ اِنِّیۡۤ اٰنَسۡتُ نَارًا ؕ سَاٰتِیۡکُمۡ مِّنۡہَا بِخَبَرٍ اَوۡ اٰتِیۡکُمۡ بِشِہَابٍ قَبَسٍ لَّعَلَّکُمۡ تَصۡطَلُوۡنَ ﴿۷﴾
7. And (remember) when Musa (Moses) said to his family: ‘Indeed I have perceived a fire! I shall bring you some (good) news from it or bring you a flaming firebrand so that you may warm yourselves.’
إذ قال موسى لأهله إني آنست نارا سآتيكم منها بخبر أو آتيكم بشهاب قبس لعلكم تصطلون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 7)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَہَا نُوۡدِیَ اَنۡۢ بُوۡرِکَ مَنۡ فِی النَّارِ وَ مَنۡ حَوۡلَہَا ؕ وَ سُبۡحٰنَ اللّٰہِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ ﴿۸﴾
8. When he came to it, he was called: ‘Blessed is He Who is (unveiling His Light) in the fire and Who is around it. And glory be to Allah, the Lord of all worlds.
فلما جاءها نودي أن بورك من في النار ومن حولها وسبحان الله رب العالمين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 8)
وَ اَلۡقِ عَصَاکَ ؕ فَلَمَّا رَاٰہَا تَہۡتَزُّ کَاَنَّہَا جَآنٌّ وَّلّٰی مُدۡبِرًا وَّ لَمۡ یُعَقِّبۡ ؕ یٰمُوۡسٰی لَا تَخَفۡ ۟ اِنِّیۡ لَا یَخَافُ لَدَیَّ الۡمُرۡسَلُوۡنَ ﴿٭ۖ۱۰﴾
10. Throw down your staff!’ So when he saw it moving fast like a snake, he turned to retreat without looking back. (Allah said:) ‘O Musa (Moses), do not fear. Indeed, the messengers should have no fear in My presence,
وألق عصاك فلما رآها تهتز كأنها جان ولى مدبرا ولم يعقب يا موسى لا تخف إني لا يخاف لدي المرسلون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 10)
وَ اَدۡخِلۡ یَدَکَ فِیۡ جَیۡبِکَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَیۡضَآءَ مِنۡ غَیۡرِ سُوۡٓءٍ ۟ فِیۡ تِسۡعِ اٰیٰتٍ اِلٰی فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَ قَوۡمِہٖ ؕ اِنَّہُمۡ کَانُوۡا قَوۡمًا فٰسِقِیۡنَ ﴿۱۲﴾
12. Put your hand inside your bosom. It will come out white without any harm. (These are) among the nine signs (that you will show) to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they are a transgressing lot.’
وأدخل يدك في جيبك تخرج بيضاء من غير سوء في تسع آيات إلى فرعون وقومه إنهم كانوا قوما فاسقين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 12)
وَ جَحَدُوۡا بِہَا وَ اسۡتَیۡقَنَتۡہَاۤ اَنۡفُسُہُمۡ ظُلۡمًا وَّ عُلُوًّا ؕ فَانۡظُرۡ کَیۡفَ کَانَ عَاقِبَۃُ الۡمُفۡسِدِیۡنَ ﴿٪۱۴﴾
14. So they denied these (signs), although their hearts were convinced by them. (But they still did it) wrongfully and arrogantly. So see how was the end of the corruptors!
وجحدوا بها واستيقنتها أنفسهم ظلما وعلوا فانظر كيف كان عاقبة المفسدين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 14)
وَ لَقَدۡ اٰتَیۡنَا دَاوٗدَ وَ سُلَیۡمٰنَ عِلۡمًا ۚ وَ قَالَا الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ فَضَّلَنَا عَلٰی کَثِیۡرٍ مِّنۡ عِبَادِہِ الۡمُؤۡمِنِیۡنَ ﴿۱۵﴾
15. Indeed, We gave knowledge to Dawud (David) and Sulayman (Solomon). And they said: ‘All praise belongs to Allah, Who has preferred us over many of His believing servants.’
ولقد آتينا داوود وسليمان علما وقالا الحمد لله الذي فضلنا على كثير من عباده المؤمنين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 15)
وَ وَرِثَ سُلَیۡمٰنُ دَاوٗدَ وَ قَالَ یٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّاسُ عُلِّمۡنَا مَنۡطِقَ الطَّیۡرِ وَ اُوۡتِیۡنَا مِنۡ کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ ؕ اِنَّ ہٰذَا لَہُوَ الۡفَضۡلُ الۡمُبِیۡنُ ﴿۱۶﴾
16. Sulayman (Solomon) inherited from Dawud (David), and he said: ‘O people! We have been taught the language of the birds, and we have been given (an abundance) of everything. This is indeed the manifest grace (of Allah).’
وورث سليمان داوود وقال يا أيها الناس علمنا منطق الطير وأوتينا من كل شيء إن هذا لهو الفضل المبين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 16)
وَ حُشِرَ لِسُلَیۡمٰنَ جُنُوۡدُہٗ مِنَ الۡجِنِّ وَ الۡاِنۡسِ وَ الطَّیۡرِ فَہُمۡ یُوۡزَعُوۡنَ ﴿۱۷﴾
17. (Once,) Sulayman’s (Solomon’s) troops were gathered for him, comprising jinn, humans and birds, and they were held (for his service) in ordered ranks.
وحشر لسليمان جنوده من الجن والإنس والطير فهم يوزعون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 17)
حَتّٰۤی اِذَاۤ اَتَوۡا عَلٰی وَادِ النَّمۡلِ ۙ قَالَتۡ نَمۡلَۃٌ یّٰۤاَیُّہَا النَّمۡلُ ادۡخُلُوۡا مَسٰکِنَکُمۡ ۚ لَا یَحۡطِمَنَّکُمۡ سُلَیۡمٰنُ وَ جُنُوۡدُہٗ ۙ وَ ہُمۡ لَا یَشۡعُرُوۡنَ ﴿۱۸﴾
18. When they came upon the valley of ants, an ant said: ‘O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulayman (Solomon) and his troops crush you while they are unaware.’
حتى إذا أتوا على وادي النمل قالت نملة يا أيها النمل ادخلوا مساكنكم لا يحطمنكم سليمان وجنوده وهم لا يشعرون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 18)
فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِکًا مِّنۡ قَوۡلِہَا وَ قَالَ رَبِّ اَوۡزِعۡنِیۡۤ اَنۡ اَشۡکُرَ نِعۡمَتَکَ الَّتِیۡۤ اَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ وَ عَلٰی وَالِدَیَّ وَ اَنۡ اَعۡمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرۡضٰىہُ وَ اَدۡخِلۡنِیۡ بِرَحۡمَتِکَ فِیۡ عِبَادِکَ الصّٰلِحِیۡنَ ﴿۱۹﴾
19. So he (Solomon) smiled, laughing at her words, and said: ‘My Lord! Inspire me to give thanks for Your blessing You have bestowed upon me and my parents, and that I may do righteous deeds which You are pleased with, and make me enter, by Your mercy, among Your righteous servants.’
فتبسم ضاحكا من قولها وقال رب أوزعني أن أشكر نعمتك التي أنعمت علي وعلى والدي وأن أعمل صالحا ترضاه وأدخلني برحمتك في عبادك الصالحين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 19)
لَاُعَذِّبَنَّہٗ عَذَابًا شَدِیۡدًا اَوۡ لَاَاذۡبَحَنَّہٗۤ اَوۡ لَیَاۡتِیَنِّیۡ بِسُلۡطٰنٍ مُّبِیۡنٍ ﴿۲۱﴾
21. I will surely punish him with a terrible punishment, or I shall slaughter him unless he brings me an evident reason (for his absence).’
لأعذبنه عذابا شديدا أو لأذبحنه أو ليأتيني بسلطان مبين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 21)
فَمَکَثَ غَیۡرَ بَعِیۡدٍ فَقَالَ اَحَطۡتُّ بِمَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِہٖ وَ جِئۡتُکَ مِنۡ سَبَاٍۭ بِنَبَاٍ یَّقِیۡنٍ ﴿۲۲﴾
22. But he (the hoopoe) did not stay for long (before he turned up) and said: ‘I have found out something you did not know. And I have come to you with firm news from (the land of) Sheba.
فمكث غير بعيد فقال أحطت بما لم تحط به وجئتك من سبإ بنبإ يقين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 22)
اِنِّیۡ وَجَدۡتُّ امۡرَاَۃً تَمۡلِکُہُمۡ وَ اُوۡتِیَتۡ مِنۡ کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ وَّ لَہَا عَرۡشٌ عَظِیۡمٌ ﴿۲۳﴾
23. I have found a woman (there) ruling over them, and she has been given a share of all things and has a magnificent throne.
إني وجدت امرأة تملكهم وأوتيت من كل شيء ولها عرش عظيم
(النَّمْل، 27 : 23)
وَجَدۡتُّہَا وَ قَوۡمَہَا یَسۡجُدُوۡنَ لِلشَّمۡسِ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ وَ زَیَّنَ لَہُمُ الشَّیۡطٰنُ اَعۡمَالَہُمۡ فَصَدَّہُمۡ عَنِ السَّبِیۡلِ فَہُمۡ لَا یَہۡتَدُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۲۴﴾
24. I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah. And Satan has made their (evil) deeds alluring to them. Thus, he has turned them from the path (of Allah), so they are not guided.
وجدتها وقومها يسجدون للشمس من دون الله وزين لهم الشيطان أعمالهم فصدهم عن السبيل فهم لا يهتدون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 24)
اَلَّا یَسۡجُدُوۡا لِلّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ یُخۡرِجُ الۡخَبۡءَ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَ یَعۡلَمُ مَا تُخۡفُوۡنَ وَ مَا تُعۡلِنُوۡنَ ﴿۲۵﴾
25. Will they not prostrate to Allah, Who brings out the hidden in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose?
ألا يسجدوا لله الذي يخرج الخبء في السماوات والأرض ويعلم ما تخفون وما تعلنون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 25)
اِذۡہَبۡ بِّکِتٰبِیۡ ہٰذَا فَاَلۡقِہۡ اِلَیۡہِمۡ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنۡہُمۡ فَانۡظُرۡ مَا ذَا یَرۡجِعُوۡنَ ﴿۲۸﴾
28. Go with this letter of mine and deliver it to them, then turn away from them and see what (answer) they send back.’
اذهب بكتابي هذا فألقه إليهم ثم تول عنهم فانظر ماذا يرجعون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 28)
قَالَتۡ یٰۤاَیُّہَا الۡمَلَؤُا اَفۡتُوۡنِیۡ فِیۡۤ اَمۡرِیۡ ۚ مَا کُنۡتُ قَاطِعَۃً اَمۡرًا حَتّٰی تَشۡہَدُوۡنِ ﴿۳۲﴾
32. She said: ‘O chiefs! Advise me regarding my matter. I never decide any matter unless you are present.’
قالت يا أيها الملأ أفتوني في أمري ما كنت قاطعة أمرا حتى تشهدون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 32)
قَالُوۡا نَحۡنُ اُولُوۡا قُوَّۃٍ وَّ اُولُوۡا بَاۡسٍ شَدِیۡدٍ ۬ۙ وَّ الۡاَمۡرُ اِلَیۡکِ فَانۡظُرِیۡ مَاذَا تَاۡمُرِیۡنَ ﴿۳۳﴾
33. They said: ‘We are people of strength and possess great (military) power, but the command is yours. So think what you would command.’
قالوا نحن أولوا قوة وأولوا بأس شديد والأمر إليك فانظري ماذا تأمرين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 33)
قَالَتۡ اِنَّ الۡمُلُوۡکَ اِذَا دَخَلُوۡا قَرۡیَۃً اَفۡسَدُوۡہَا وَ جَعَلُوۡۤا اَعِزَّۃَ اَہۡلِہَاۤ اَذِلَّۃً ۚ وَ کَذٰلِکَ یَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ﴿۳۴﴾
34. She said: ‘Indeed when kings invade a town, they ruin it and reduce the most honourable of its people to the most disgraced. And that is how they will act.
قالت إن الملوك إذا دخلوا قرية أفسدوها وجعلوا أعزة أهلها أذلة وكذلك يفعلون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 34)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ سُلَیۡمٰنَ قَالَ اَتُمِدُّوۡنَنِ بِمَالٍ ۫ فَمَاۤ اٰتٰىنِۦَ اللّٰہُ خَیۡرٌ مِّمَّاۤ اٰتٰىکُمۡ ۚ بَلۡ اَنۡتُمۡ بِہَدِیَّتِکُمۡ تَفۡرَحُوۡنَ ﴿۳۶﴾
36. When he (i.e. the envoy) came to Sulayman (Solomon), he (Solomon) said: ‘Do you offer me wealth? What Allah has given me is far greater than what He has given you. Instead, you are rejoicing over your gift.
فلما جاء سليمان قال أتمدونن بمال فما آتاني الله خير مما آتاكم بل أنتم بهديتكم تفرحون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 36)
اِرۡجِعۡ اِلَیۡہِمۡ فَلَنَاۡتِیَنَّہُمۡ بِجُنُوۡدٍ لَّا قِبَلَ لَہُمۡ بِہَا وَ لَنُخۡرِجَنَّہُمۡ مِّنۡہَاۤ اَذِلَّۃً وَّ ہُمۡ صٰغِرُوۡنَ ﴿۳۷﴾
37. Go back to them (with your gifts). We shall come upon them with such troops which they can never face. And we shall expel them from that (land) disgracefully. Moreover, they will be dishonoured (by becoming prisoners).’
ارجع إليهم فلنأتينهم بجنود لا قبل لهم بها ولنخرجنهم منها أذلة وهم صاغرون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 37)
قَالَ یٰۤاَیُّہَا الۡمَلَؤُا اَیُّکُمۡ یَاۡتِیۡنِیۡ بِعَرۡشِہَا قَبۡلَ اَنۡ یَّاۡتُوۡنِیۡ مُسۡلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۳۸﴾
38. He said: ‘O Chief Counsellors! Which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in (full) submission?’
قال يا أيها الملأ أيكم يأتيني بعرشها قبل أن يأتوني مسلمين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 38)
قَالَ عِفۡرِیۡتٌ مِّنَ الۡجِنِّ اَنَا اٰتِیۡکَ بِہٖ قَبۡلَ اَنۡ تَقُوۡمَ مِنۡ مَّقَامِکَ ۚ وَ اِنِّیۡ عَلَیۡہِ لَقَوِیٌّ اَمِیۡنٌ ﴿۳۹﴾
39. A giant among the jinn said: ‘I will bring it to you before you rise from your place. Indeed, I am strong enough (and) trustworthy for this (task).’
قال عفريت من الجن أنا آتيك به قبل أن تقوم من مقامك وإني عليه لقوي أمين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 39)
قَالَ الَّذِیۡ عِنۡدَہٗ عِلۡمٌ مِّنَ الۡکِتٰبِ اَنَا اٰتِیۡکَ بِہٖ قَبۡلَ اَنۡ یَّرۡتَدَّ اِلَیۡکَ طَرۡفُکَ ؕ فَلَمَّا رَاٰہُ مُسۡتَقِرًّا عِنۡدَہٗ قَالَ ہٰذَا مِنۡ فَضۡلِ رَبِّیۡ ۟ۖ لِیَبۡلُوَنِیۡۤ ءَاَشۡکُرُ اَمۡ اَکۡفُرُ ؕ وَ مَنۡ شَکَرَ فَاِنَّمَا یَشۡکُرُ لِنَفۡسِہٖ ۚ وَ مَنۡ کَفَرَ فَاِنَّ رَبِّیۡ غَنِیٌّ کَرِیۡمٌ ﴿۴۰﴾
40. (Then) the one who had (special) knowledge of the Book said: ‘I will bring it to you before the blink of your eye.’ So, when he saw it (i.e. the throne) placed next to him, he said: ‘This is by the grace of my Lord, to test me whether I give thanks or be unthankful. And whoever is grateful shows gratitude only for his own sake. And whoever is ungrateful (should know that) my Lord is indeed All-Sufficient, All-Honoured.’
قال الذي عنده علم من الكتاب أنا آتيك به قبل أن يرتد إليك طرفك فلما رآه مستقرا عنده قال هذا من فضل ربي ليبلوني أأشكر أم أكفر ومن شكر فإنما يشكر لنفسه ومن كفر فإن ربي غني كريم
(النَّمْل، 27 : 40)
قَالَ نَکِّرُوۡا لَہَا عَرۡشَہَا نَنۡظُرۡ اَتَہۡتَدِیۡۤ اَمۡ تَکُوۡنُ مِنَ الَّذِیۡنَ لَا یَہۡتَدُوۡنَ ﴿۴۱﴾
41. He (Solomon) said: ‘Change the appearance of her throne for her. We shall see whether she has the sense to recognise or she is among those who do not recognise.’
قال نكروا لها عرشها ننظر أتهتدي أم تكون من الذين لا يهتدون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 41)
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡ قِیۡلَ اَہٰکَذَا عَرۡشُکِ ؕ قَالَتۡ کَاَنَّہٗ ہُوَ ۚ وَ اُوۡتِیۡنَا الۡعِلۡمَ مِنۡ قَبۡلِہَا وَ کُنَّا مُسۡلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۴۲﴾
42. So when she came, it was said (to her): ‘Is your throne like this?’ She said: ‘It looks to be the same. We were (already) informed before this (miracle). And we had submitted.’
فلما جاءت قيل أهكذا عرشك قالت كأنه هو وأوتينا العلم من قبلها وكنا مسلمين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 42)
وَ صَدَّہَا مَا کَانَتۡ تَّعۡبُدُ مِنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّہَا کَانَتۡ مِنۡ قَوۡمٍ کٰفِرِیۡنَ ﴿۴۳﴾
43. So whatever she used to worship besides Allah had prevented her (from the right path). Indeed, she belonged to a disbelieving people.
وصدها ما كانت تعبد من دون الله إنها كانت من قوم كافرين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 43)
قِیۡلَ لَہَا ادۡخُلِی الصَّرۡحَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَاَتۡہُ حَسِبَتۡہُ لُجَّۃً وَّ کَشَفَتۡ عَنۡ سَاقَیۡہَا ؕ قَالَ اِنَّہٗ صَرۡحٌ مُّمَرَّدٌ مِّنۡ قَوَارِیۡرَ ۬ؕ قَالَتۡ رَبِّ اِنِّیۡ ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِیۡ وَ اَسۡلَمۡتُ مَعَ سُلَیۡمٰنَ لِلّٰہِ رَبِّ الۡعٰلَمِیۡنَ ﴿٪۴۴﴾
44. It was said to her: ‘Enter the compound of the palace.’ So when she saw it, she supposed it to be a pool of water and bared her lower legs. He said: ‘It is a compound of the palace paved with crystal slabs.’ She said: ‘My Lord! Indeed, I have wronged myself. (Now) I submit with Sulayman (Solomon) to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.’
قيل لها ادخلي الصرح فلما رأته حسبته لجة وكشفت عن ساقيها قال إنه صرح ممرد من قوارير قالت رب إني ظلمت نفسي وأسلمت مع سليمان لله رب العالمين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 44)
وَ لَقَدۡ اَرۡسَلۡنَاۤ اِلٰی ثَمُوۡدَ اَخَاہُمۡ صٰلِحًا اَنِ اعۡبُدُوا اللّٰہَ فَاِذَا ہُمۡ فَرِیۡقٰنِ یَخۡتَصِمُوۡنَ ﴿۴۵﴾
45. And, indeed, We sent to (the people of) Thamud their (kinship) brother Salih, (saying:) ‘Worship Allah.’ Then, they became two groups quarrelling (with each other).
ولقد أرسلنا إلى ثمود أخاهم صالحا أن اعبدوا الله فإذا هم فريقان يختصمون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 45)
قَالَ یٰقَوۡمِ لِمَ تَسۡتَعۡجِلُوۡنَ بِالسَّیِّئَۃِ قَبۡلَ الۡحَسَنَۃِ ۚ لَوۡ لَا تَسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡنَ اللّٰہَ لَعَلَّکُمۡ تُرۡحَمُوۡنَ ﴿۴۶﴾
46. He said: ‘O my people! Why do you seek to hasten the evil before the good? Why do you not seek forgiveness from Allah so you may be shown mercy?’
قال يا قوم لم تستعجلون بالسيئة قبل الحسنة لولا تستغفرون الله لعلكم ترحمون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 46)
قَالُوا اطَّیَّرۡنَا بِکَ وَ بِمَنۡ مَّعَکَ ؕ قَالَ طٰٓئِرُکُمۡ عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ بَلۡ اَنۡتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ تُفۡتَنُوۡنَ ﴿۴۷﴾
47. They said: ‘We have met evil fortune because of you and those with you.’ He said: ‘Your evil fortune is with (the command of) Allah. Instead, you are (only) a people being tested.’
قالوا اطيرنا بك وبمن معك قال طائركم عند الله بل أنتم قوم تفتنون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 47)
وَ کَانَ فِی الۡمَدِیۡنَۃِ تِسۡعَۃُ رَہۡطٍ یُّفۡسِدُوۡنَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ لَا یُصۡلِحُوۡنَ ﴿۴۸﴾
48. In the city, nine persons (leading their families or gangs) were causing corruption in the land and not letting matters be reformed.
وكان في المدينة تسعة رهط يفسدون في الأرض ولا يصلحون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 48)
قَالُوۡا تَقَاسَمُوۡا بِاللّٰہِ لَنُبَیِّتَنَّہٗ وَ اَہۡلَہٗ ثُمَّ لَنَقُوۡلَنَّ لِوَلِیِّہٖ مَا شَہِدۡنَا مَہۡلِکَ اَہۡلِہٖ وَ اِنَّا لَصٰدِقُوۡنَ ﴿۴۹﴾
49. They said: ‘Let us swear together by Allah that we shall attack him and his family by night. Then we will surely tell his heirs that we did not witness the murder of his family, and we are indeed truthful.’
قالوا تقاسموا بالله لنبيتنه وأهله ثم لنقولن لوليه ما شهدنا مهلك أهله وإنا لصادقون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 49)
فَتِلۡکَ بُیُوۡتُہُمۡ خَاوِیَۃًۢ بِمَا ظَلَمُوۡا ؕ اِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ لَاٰیَۃً لِّقَوۡمٍ یَّعۡلَمُوۡنَ ﴿۵۲﴾
52. So, their houses are there, lying ruined because of their wrongdoing. There is indeed a sign in that for people who know.
فتلك بيوتهم خاوية بما ظلموا إن في ذلك لآية لقوم يعلمون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 52)
فَمَا کَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِہٖۤ اِلَّاۤ اَنۡ قَالُوۡۤا اَخۡرِجُوۡۤا اٰلَ لُوۡطٍ مِّنۡ قَرۡیَتِکُمۡ ۚ اِنَّہُمۡ اُنَاسٌ یَّتَطَہَّرُوۡنَ ﴿۵۶﴾
56. But the answer of his people was none other but to say: ‘Expel the family of Lut (Lot) from your town! They are trying to keep themselves pure (from our sexual practices).’
فما كان جواب قومه إلا أن قالوا أخرجوا آل لوط من قريتكم إنهم أناس يتطهرون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 56)
قُلِ الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ وَ سَلٰمٌ عَلٰی عِبَادِہِ الَّذِیۡنَ اصۡطَفٰی ؕ آٰللّٰہُ خَیۡرٌ اَمَّا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۵۹﴾
59. Say: ‘All praise belongs to Allah. And peace be upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better, or the partners they associate (with Him)?’
قل الحمد لله وسلام على عباده الذين اصطفى آلله خير أما يشركون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 59)
اَمَّنۡ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضَ وَ اَنۡزَلَ لَکُمۡ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ مَآءً ۚ فَاَنۡۢبَتۡنَا بِہٖ حَدَآئِقَ ذَاتَ بَہۡجَۃٍ ۚ مَا کَانَ لَکُمۡ اَنۡ تُنۡۢبِتُوۡا شَجَرَہَا ؕ ءَ اِلٰہٌ مَّعَ اللّٰہِ ؕ بَلۡ ہُمۡ قَوۡمٌ یَّعۡدِلُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۶۰﴾
60. Or (ask them): ‘Who created the heavens and the earth and sent down water for you from the sky, by which We cause beautiful gardens to grow, whereas you could never cause their trees to grow? Was it another god besides Allah? But they are a people who (still) set up equals (to Allah).’
أمن خلق السماوات والأرض وأنزل لكم من السماء ماء فأنبتنا به حدائق ذات بهجة ما كان لكم أن تنبتوا شجرها أإله مع الله بل هم قوم يعدلون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 60)
اَمَّنۡ جَعَلَ الۡاَرۡضَ قَرَارًا وَّ جَعَلَ خِلٰلَہَاۤ اَنۡہٰرًا وَّ جَعَلَ لَہَا رَوَاسِیَ وَ جَعَلَ بَیۡنَ الۡبَحۡرَیۡنِ حَاجِزًا ؕ ءَ اِلٰہٌ مَّعَ اللّٰہِ ؕ بَلۡ اَکۡثَرُہُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۶۱﴾
61. Or (ask them): ‘Who made the earth a place of settlement, made rivers flowing through it, raised firm mountains for it and made a barrier between the two seas (i.e. the fresh and salty water)? Was it another god besides Allah? But most of them do not know.’
أمن جعل الأرض قرارا وجعل خلالها أنهارا وجعل لها رواسي وجعل بين البحرين حاجزا أإله مع الله بل أكثرهم لا يعلمون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 61)
اَمَّنۡ یُّجِیۡبُ الۡمُضۡطَرَّ اِذَا دَعَاہُ وَ یَکۡشِفُ السُّوۡٓءَ وَ یَجۡعَلُکُمۡ خُلَفَآءَ الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ ءَ اِلٰہٌ مَّعَ اللّٰہِ ؕ قَلِیۡلًا مَّا تَذَکَّرُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۶۲﴾
62. Or (ask them): ‘Who answers the call of the distressed when he invokes Him, and removes his suffering, and makes you successors of the earth? Is it another god besides Allah? How little do you reflect!’
أمن يجيب المضطر إذا دعاه ويكشف السوء ويجعلكم خلفاء الأرض أإله مع الله قليلا ما تذكرون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 62)
اَمَّنۡ یَّہۡدِیۡکُمۡ فِیۡ ظُلُمٰتِ الۡبَرِّ وَ الۡبَحۡرِ وَ مَنۡ یُّرۡسِلُ الرِّیٰحَ بُشۡرًۢا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡ رَحۡمَتِہٖ ؕ ءَ اِلٰہٌ مَّعَ اللّٰہِ ؕ تَعٰلَی اللّٰہُ عَمَّا یُشۡرِکُوۡنَ ﴿ؕ۶۳﴾
63. Or (ask them): ‘Who guides you in the darkness of land and sea, and Who sends the winds as glad tidings ahead of His mercy? Is it another god besides Allah? Exalted is Allah, above what they associate (with Him).’
أمن يهديكم في ظلمات البر والبحر ومن يرسل الرياح بشرا بين يدي رحمته أإله مع الله تعالى الله عما يشركون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 63)
اَمَّنۡ یَّبۡدَؤُا الۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ یُعِیۡدُہٗ وَ مَنۡ یَّرۡزُقُکُمۡ مِّنَ السَّمَآءِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ ءَ اِلٰہٌ مَّعَ اللّٰہِ ؕ قُلۡ ہَاتُوۡا بُرۡہَانَکُمۡ اِنۡ کُنۡتُمۡ صٰدِقِیۡنَ ﴿۶۴﴾
64. Or (ask them): ‘Who brings the creation into being, then returns it (to its former state)? And Who gives you provision from the sky and the earth? Is it another god besides Allah? Say: ‘Produce your evidence if you are truthful.’
أمن يبدأ الخلق ثم يعيده ومن يرزقكم من السماء والأرض أإله مع الله قل هاتوا برهانكم إن كنتم صادقين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 64)
قُلۡ لَّا یَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ الۡغَیۡبَ اِلَّا اللّٰہُ ؕ وَ مَا یَشۡعُرُوۡنَ اَیَّانَ یُبۡعَثُوۡنَ ﴿۶۵﴾
65. Say: ‘No one in the heavens and the earth knows the Unseen (of his own accord) except Allah. And they are not (even) aware when they will be resurrected.’
قل لا يعلم من في السماوات والأرض الغيب إلا الله وما يشعرون أيان يبعثون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 65)
بَلِ ادّٰرَکَ عِلۡمُہُمۡ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ ۟ بَلۡ ہُمۡ فِیۡ شَکٍّ مِّنۡہَا ۫۟ بَلۡ ہُمۡ مِّنۡہَا عَمُوۡنَ ﴿٪۶۶﴾
66. Nay! Does their knowledge comprehend the Hereafter? No, they are just in doubt about it. Instead, they are blind to it.
بل ادارك علمهم في الآخرة بل هم في شك منها بل هم منها عمون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 66)
اِنَّکَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ الۡمَوۡتٰی وَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ الصُّمَّ الدُّعَآءَ اِذَا وَلَّوۡا مُدۡبِرِیۡنَ ﴿۸۰﴾
80. Indeed, you cannot make the dead (i.e. the disbelievers) hear, nor can you make the deaf hear the call (of truth) when they turn their backs (and withdraw from you).
* Here al-mawta (the dead) and al-summa (the deaf) denote the disbelievers. The Companions and the Followers have also narrated the same meaning. See: Tafsir al-Tabari (20:12); Tafsir al-Qurtubi (13:232); Tafsir al-Baghawi (3:428); Zad al-Masir by Ibn al-Jawzi (6:189); Tafsir Ibn Kathir (3:375, 439); Tafsir al-Lubab by Ibn ‘Adil al-Damashqi (16:126); al-Durr al-Manthur by al-Suyuti (6:376) and Fath al-Qadir by al-Shawkani (4:150).
إنك لا تسمع الموتى ولا تسمع الصم الدعاء إذا ولوا مدبرين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 80)
وَ مَاۤ اَنۡتَ بِہٰدِی الۡعُمۡیِ عَنۡ ضَلٰلَتِہِمۡ ؕ اِنۡ تُسۡمِعُ اِلَّا مَنۡ یُّؤۡمِنُ بِاٰیٰتِنَا فَہُمۡ مُّسۡلِمُوۡنَ ﴿۸۱﴾
81. Nor can you lead the blind out of their misguidance. You can make none hear (the truth) except those who believe in Our Commandments and submit.
وما أنت بهادي العمي عن ضلالتهم إن تسمع إلا من يؤمن بآياتنا فهم مسلمون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 81)
وَ اِذَا وَقَعَ الۡقَوۡلُ عَلَیۡہِمۡ اَخۡرَجۡنَا لَہُمۡ دَآبَّۃً مِّنَ الۡاَرۡضِ تُکَلِّمُہُمۡ ۙ اَنَّ النَّاسَ کَانُوۡا بِاٰیٰتِنَا لَا یُوۡقِنُوۡنَ ﴿٪۸۲﴾
82. And when the Word (of the final judgement) comes upon them, We shall bring out a beast for them from the earth telling them that the people had no firm faith in Our revelations.
وإذا وقع القول عليهم أخرجنا لهم دابة من الأرض تكلمهم أن الناس كانوا بآياتنا لا يوقنون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 82)
وَ یَوۡمَ نَحۡشُرُ مِنۡ کُلِّ اُمَّۃٍ فَوۡجًا مِّمَّنۡ یُّکَذِّبُ بِاٰیٰتِنَا فَہُمۡ یُوۡزَعُوۡنَ ﴿۸۳﴾
83. On that day, We shall gather from every community a group of those who rejected Our revelations, and they will be driven in ranks.
ويوم نحشر من كل أمة فوجا ممن يكذب بآياتنا فهم يوزعون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 83)
حَتّٰۤی اِذَا جَآءُوۡ قَالَ اَکَذَّبۡتُمۡ بِاٰیٰتِیۡ وَ لَمۡ تُحِیۡطُوۡا بِہَا عِلۡمًا اَمَّا ذَا کُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۸۴﴾
84. When they come (before their Lord), He will say (to them): ‘Did you reject My revelations, while you did not comprehend them in knowledge? What is it that you used to do?’
حتى إذا جاؤوا قال أكذبتم بآياتي ولم تحيطوا بها علما أما ذا كنتم تعملون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 84)
اَلَمۡ یَرَوۡا اَنَّا جَعَلۡنَا الَّیۡلَ لِیَسۡکُنُوۡا فِیۡہِ وَ النَّہَارَ مُبۡصِرًا ؕ اِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّقَوۡمٍ یُّؤۡمِنُوۡنَ ﴿۸۶﴾
86. Do they not see We made the night that they may rest in it and the day to provide visibility? There are indeed signs in that for people who believe.
ألم يروا أنا جعلنا الليل ليسكنوا فيه والنهار مبصرا إن في ذلك لآيات لقوم يؤمنون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 86)
وَ یَوۡمَ یُنۡفَخُ فِی الصُّوۡرِ فَفَزِعَ مَنۡ فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَنۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ اِلَّا مَنۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ ؕ وَ کُلٌّ اَتَوۡہُ دٰخِرِیۡنَ ﴿۸۷﴾
87. The Day when the trumpet will be blown, all those in the heavens and all those on the earth will be terrified, except whom Allah pleases (to spare). And all will come to Him in utter humility.
ويوم ينفخ في الصور ففزع من في السماوات ومن في الأرض إلا من شاء الله وكل أتوه داخرين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 87)
وَ تَرَی الۡجِبَالَ تَحۡسَبُہَا جَامِدَۃً وَّ ہِیَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ السَّحَابِ ؕ صُنۡعَ اللّٰہِ الَّذِیۡۤ اَتۡقَنَ کُلَّ شَیۡءٍ ؕ اِنَّہٗ خَبِیۡرٌۢ بِمَا تَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ﴿۸۸﴾
88. You see the mountains, which you suppose are firmly fixed, while they will float away like passing clouds. (This is) the work of Allah, Who has perfected everything. He is indeed well aware of what you do.
وترى الجبال تحسبها جامدة وهي تمر مر السحاب صنع الله الذي أتقن كل شيء إنه خبير بما تفعلون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 88)
وَ مَنۡ جَآءَ بِالسَّیِّئَۃِ فَکُبَّتۡ وُجُوۡہُہُمۡ فِی النَّارِ ؕ ہَلۡ تُجۡزَوۡنَ اِلَّا مَا کُنۡتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿۹۰﴾
90. And whoever comes with an evil deed—their faces shall be cast down into the Fire. (They will be told:) ‘Are you rewarded for anything except what you have been doing?’
ومن جاء بالسيئة فكبت وجوههم في النار هل تجزون إلا ما كنتم تعملون
(النَّمْل، 27 : 90)
اِنَّمَاۤ اُمِرۡتُ اَنۡ اَعۡبُدَ رَبَّ ہٰذِہِ الۡبَلۡدَۃِ الَّذِیۡ حَرَّمَہَا وَ لَہٗ کُلُّ شَیۡءٍ ۫ وَّ اُمِرۡتُ اَنۡ اَکُوۡنَ مِنَ الۡمُسۡلِمِیۡنَ ﴿ۙ۹۱﴾
91. (Esteemed Prophet say:) ‘Indeed, I have been commanded to worship only the Lord of this city (i.e. Mecca), Who has made it sacred (and inviolable), and to Him belongs everything. And I have been commanded that I should be among those who (fully) submit (to Allah).
إنما أمرت أن أعبد رب هذه البلدة الذي حرمها وله كل شيء وأمرت أن أكون من المسلمين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 91)
وَ اَنۡ اَتۡلُوَا الۡقُرۡاٰنَ ۚ فَمَنِ اہۡتَدٰی فَاِنَّمَا یَہۡتَدِیۡ لِنَفۡسِہٖ ۚ وَ مَنۡ ضَلَّ فَقُلۡ اِنَّمَاۤ اَنَا مِنَ الۡمُنۡذِرِیۡنَ ﴿۹۲﴾
92. And that I should recite the Qur’an.’ So, whoever is rightly guided is guided only for (the benefit of) himself. And whoever goes astray, then say: ‘I am just one of the warners.’
وأن أتلوا القرآن فمن اهتدى فإنما يهتدي لنفسه ومن ضل فقل إنما أنا من المنذرين
(النَّمْل، 27 : 92)
وَ قُلِ الۡحَمۡدُ لِلّٰہِ سَیُرِیۡکُمۡ اٰیٰتِہٖ فَتَعۡرِفُوۡنَہَا ؕ وَ مَا رَبُّکَ بِغَافِلٍ عَمَّا تَعۡمَلُوۡنَ ﴿٪۹۳﴾
