In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the All-Merciful
حٰمٓ ۚ﴿۱﴾
1. Ha-Mim,
حم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 1)
عٓسٓقٓ ﴿۲﴾
2. ‘Ayn, Sin, Qaf.
عسق
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 2)
تَکَادُ السَّمٰوٰتُ یَتَفَطَّرۡنَ مِنۡ فَوۡقِہِنَّ وَ الۡمَلٰٓئِکَۃُ یُسَبِّحُوۡنَ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّہِمۡ وَ یَسۡتَغۡفِرُوۡنَ لِمَنۡ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ ہُوَ الۡغَفُوۡرُ الرَّحِیۡمُ ﴿۵﴾
5. The heavens are almost breaking apart over them (in His reverence), while the angels glorify their Lord’s praise (all the time) and seek forgiveness for those on the earth. Behold! Allah is indeed the Most-Forgiving, the All-Merciful.
تكاد السماوات يتفطرن من فوقهن والملائكة يسبحون بحمد ربهم ويستغفرون لمن في الأرض ألا إن الله هو الغفور الرحيم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 5)
وَ الَّذِیۡنَ اتَّخَذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِہٖۤ اَوۡلِیَآءَ اللّٰہُ حَفِیۡظٌ عَلَیۡہِمۡ ۫ۖ وَ مَاۤ اَنۡتَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ بِوَکِیۡلٍ ﴿۶﴾
6. As for those who take protectors besides Him, Allah is Watchful over them. And (O Prophet,) you are not responsible for them.
والذين اتخذوا من دونه أولياء الله حفيظ عليهم وما أنت عليهم بوكيل
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 6)
وَ کَذٰلِکَ اَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ قُرۡاٰنًا عَرَبِیًّا لِّتُنۡذِرَ اُمَّ الۡقُرٰی وَ مَنۡ حَوۡلَہَا وَ تُنۡذِرَ یَوۡمَ الۡجَمۡعِ لَا رَیۡبَ فِیۡہِ ؕ فَرِیۡقٌ فِی الۡجَنَّۃِ وَ فَرِیۡقٌ فِی السَّعِیۡرِ ﴿۷﴾
7. Thus, We have revealed a Qur’an in Arabic to you so that you may warn the people of the Mother of the Towns (i.e. the city of Mecca) and those around it. And warn (them) of the Day of Gathering, about which there is no doubt, (when) a group shall be in Paradise, and a group shall be in the Blaze.
وكذلك أوحينا إليك قرآنا عربيا لتنذر أم القرى ومن حولها وتنذر يوم الجمع لا ريب فيه فريق في الجنة وفريق في السعير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 7)
وَ لَوۡ شَآءَ اللّٰہُ لَجَعَلَہُمۡ اُمَّۃً وَّاحِدَۃً وَّ لٰکِنۡ یُّدۡخِلُ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ فِیۡ رَحۡمَتِہٖ ؕ وَ الظّٰلِمُوۡنَ مَا لَہُمۡ مِّنۡ وَّلِیٍّ وَّ لَا نَصِیۡرٍ ﴿۸﴾
8. Had Allah wished, He could have (easily) made them one community. But He admits whom He pleases into His mercy. And the wrongdoers have no guardian and no helper.
ولو شاء الله لجعلهم أمة واحدة ولكن يدخل من يشاء في رحمته والظالمون ما لهم من ولي ولا نصير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 8)
اَمِ اتَّخَذُوۡا مِنۡ دُوۡنِہٖۤ اَوۡلِیَآءَ ۚ فَاللّٰہُ ہُوَ الۡوَلِیُّ وَ ہُوَ یُحۡیِ الۡمَوۡتٰی ۫ وَ ہُوَ عَلٰی کُلِّ شَیۡءٍ قَدِیۡرٌ ٪﴿۹﴾
9. Have they taken guardians besides Him? (Say:) ‘It is Allah Who is the Guardian. He gives life to the dead. And He is All-Capable of everything.
أم اتخذوا من دونه أولياء فالله هو الولي وهو يحيي الموتى وهو على كل شيء قدير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 9)
وَ مَا اخۡتَلَفۡتُمۡ فِیۡہِ مِنۡ شَیۡءٍ فَحُکۡمُہٗۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ ؕ ذٰلِکُمُ اللّٰہُ رَبِّیۡ عَلَیۡہِ تَوَکَّلۡتُ ٭ۖ وَ اِلَیۡہِ اُنِیۡبُ ﴿۱۰﴾
10. Whatever you may differ about, its judgement rests only with Allah. That is Allah, my Lord. In Him do I trust. And to Him, I turn penitently.
وما اختلفتم فيه من شيء فحكمه إلى الله ذلكم الله ربي عليه توكلت وإليه أنيب
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 10)
فَاطِرُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ جَعَلَ لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ اَنۡفُسِکُمۡ اَزۡوَاجًا وَّ مِنَ الۡاَنۡعَامِ اَزۡوَاجًا ۚ یَذۡرَؤُکُمۡ فِیۡہِ ؕ لَیۡسَ کَمِثۡلِہٖ شَیۡءٌ ۚ وَ ہُوَ السَّمِیۡعُ الۡبَصِیۡرُ ﴿۱۱﴾
11. (He is) the Originator of the heavens and the earth. He has made mates for you among yourselves and mates for the cattle (as well), by which He multiplies you (all). Nothing is like Him, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
فاطر السماوات والأرض جعل لكم من أنفسكم أزواجا ومن الأنعام أزواجا يذرؤكم فيه ليس كمثله شيء وهو السميع البصير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 11)
لَہٗ مَقَالِیۡدُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ ۚ یَبۡسُطُ الرِّزۡقَ لِمَنۡ یَّشَآءُ وَ یَقۡدِرُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ بِکُلِّ شَیۡءٍ عَلِیۡمٌ ﴿۱۲﴾
12. To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He expands the provision for whom He pleases and tightens (it for whom He wills). Indeed, He is All-Knowing of everything.’
له مقاليد السماوات والأرض يبسط الرزق لمن يشاء ويقدر إنه بكل شيء عليم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 12)
شَرَعَ لَکُمۡ مِّنَ الدِّیۡنِ مَا وَصّٰی بِہٖ نُوۡحًا وَّ الَّذِیۡۤ اَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ وَ مَا وَصَّیۡنَا بِہٖۤ اِبۡرٰہِیۡمَ وَ مُوۡسٰی وَ عِیۡسٰۤی اَنۡ اَقِیۡمُوا الدِّیۡنَ وَ لَا تَتَفَرَّقُوۡا فِیۡہِ ؕ کَبُرَ عَلَی الۡمُشۡرِکِیۡنَ مَا تَدۡعُوۡہُمۡ اِلَیۡہِ ؕ اَللّٰہُ یَجۡتَبِیۡۤ اِلَیۡہِ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ وَ یَہۡدِیۡۤ اِلَیۡہِ مَنۡ یُّنِیۡبُ ﴿۱۳﴾
13. He has prescribed for you the Religion which He had enjoined upon Nuh (Noah) and which We have (also) revealed to you, and which We had enjoined upon Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and ‘Isa (Jesus), that you should uphold the religion and make no divisions in it. Hard upon the polytheists is that to which you call them. Allah chooses for Himself whomever He pleases and guides to Himself whoever turns (to Him) penitently.
شرع لكم من الدين ما وصى به نوحا والذي أوحينا إليك وما وصينا به إبراهيم وموسى وعيسى أن أقيموا الدين ولا تتفرقوا فيه كبر على المشركين ما تدعوهم إليه الله يجتبي إليه من يشاء ويهدي إليه من ينيب
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 13)
وَ مَا تَفَرَّقُوۡۤا اِلَّا مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا جَآءَہُمُ الۡعِلۡمُ بَغۡیًۢا بَیۡنَہُمۡ ؕ وَ لَوۡ لَا کَلِمَۃٌ سَبَقَتۡ مِنۡ رَّبِّکَ اِلٰۤی اَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّی لَّقُضِیَ بَیۡنَہُمۡ ؕ وَ اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ اُوۡرِثُوا الۡکِتٰبَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِہِمۡ لَفِیۡ شَکٍّ مِّنۡہُ مُرِیۡبٍ ﴿۱۴﴾
14. They did not split (into factions) until knowledge had come to them because of envy among themselves. Had it not been for a prior decree of your Lord (to give them respite) until an appointed time, the decision would have been made between them. Indeed, those made to inherit the Book after them are surely in grave doubt about this (Qur’an).
وما تفرقوا إلا من بعد ما جاءهم العلم بغيا بينهم ولولا كلمة سبقت من ربك إلى أجل مسمى لقضي بينهم وإن الذين أورثوا الكتاب من بعدهم لفي شك منه مريب
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 14)
فَلِذٰلِکَ فَادۡعُ ۚ وَ اسۡتَقِمۡ کَمَاۤ اُمِرۡتَ ۚ وَ لَا تَتَّبِعۡ اَہۡوَآءَہُمۡ ۚ وَ قُلۡ اٰمَنۡتُ بِمَاۤ اَنۡزَلَ اللّٰہُ مِنۡ کِتٰبٍ ۚ وَ اُمِرۡتُ لِاَعۡدِلَ بَیۡنَکُمۡ ؕ اَللّٰہُ رَبُّنَا وَ رَبُّکُمۡ ؕ لَنَاۤ اَعۡمَالُنَا وَ لَکُمۡ اَعۡمَالُکُمۡ ؕ لَا حُجَّۃَ بَیۡنَنَا وَ بَیۡنَکُمۡ ؕ اَللّٰہُ یَجۡمَعُ بَیۡنَنَا ۚ وَ اِلَیۡہِ الۡمَصِیۡرُ ﴿ؕ۱۵﴾
15. Therefore, go on inviting (them to this religion), and remain steadfast as you are commanded. And do not go by their desires, and say (to them): ‘I believe in whatever Book Allah has revealed. And I have been commanded to bring justice between you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. Our deeds belong to us, and your deeds belong to you. There is no (need for an) argument between you and us. Allah will bring us together (for the final judgement), and towards Him is the journey’s end.’
فلذلك فادع واستقم كما أمرت ولا تتبع أهواءهم وقل آمنت بما أنزل الله من كتاب وأمرت لأعدل بينكم الله ربنا وربكم لنا أعمالنا ولكم أعمالكم لا حجة بيننا وبينكم الله يجمع بيننا وإليه المصير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 15)
وَ الَّذِیۡنَ یُحَآجُّوۡنَ فِی اللّٰہِ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا اسۡتُجِیۡبَ لَہٗ حُجَّتُہُمۡ دَاحِضَۃٌ عِنۡدَ رَبِّہِمۡ وَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ غَضَبٌ وَّ لَہُمۡ عَذَابٌ شَدِیۡدٌ ﴿۱۶﴾
16. As for those who argue about Allah after having responded to Him, their argument is void in the sight of their Lord. Upon them shall be (His) wrath, and there is a severe punishment for them.
والذين يحاجون في الله من بعد ما استجيب له حجتهم داحضة عند ربهم وعليهم غضب ولهم عذاب شديد
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 16)
اَللّٰہُ الَّذِیۡۤ اَنۡزَلَ الۡکِتٰبَ بِالۡحَقِّ وَ الۡمِیۡزَانَ ؕ وَ مَا یُدۡرِیۡکَ لَعَلَّ السَّاعَۃَ قَرِیۡبٌ ﴿۱۷﴾
17. Allah is the One Who has revealed the Book with the truth and the balance (of justice). How can you tell? The Last Hour may well be near.
الله الذي أنزل الكتاب بالحق والميزان وما يدريك لعل الساعة قريب
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 17)
یَسۡتَعۡجِلُ بِہَا الَّذِیۡنَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُوۡنَ بِہَا ۚ وَ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا مُشۡفِقُوۡنَ مِنۡہَا ۙ وَ یَعۡلَمُوۡنَ اَنَّہَا الۡحَقُّ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ الَّذِیۡنَ یُمَارُوۡنَ فِی السَّاعَۃِ لَفِیۡ ضَلٰلٍۭ بَعِیۡدٍ ﴿۱۸﴾
18. Those who do not believe in it (mockingly) seek to hasten it, but the believers fear it and know it is the truth. Look! Those who dispute concerning the Hour have indeed gone far astray.
يستعجل بها الذين لا يؤمنون بها والذين آمنوا مشفقون منها ويعلمون أنها الحق ألا إن الذين يمارون في الساعة لفي ضلال بعيد
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 18)
مَنۡ کَانَ یُرِیۡدُ حَرۡثَ الۡاٰخِرَۃِ نَزِدۡ لَہٗ فِیۡ حَرۡثِہٖ ۚ وَ مَنۡ کَانَ یُرِیۡدُ حَرۡثَ الدُّنۡیَا نُؤۡتِہٖ مِنۡہَا وَ مَا لَہٗ فِی الۡاٰخِرَۃِ مِنۡ نَّصِیۡبٍ ﴿۲۰﴾
20. Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter, We will increase for him his harvest. And whoever desires the harvest of this world, We will give him some of it. But he will have no share in the Hereafter.
من كان يريد حرث الآخرة نزد له في حرثه ومن كان يريد حرث الدنيا نؤته منها وما له في الآخرة من نصيب
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 20)
اَمۡ لَہُمۡ شُرَکٰٓؤُا شَرَعُوۡا لَہُمۡ مِّنَ الدِّیۡنِ مَا لَمۡ یَاۡذَنۡۢ بِہِ اللّٰہُ ؕ وَ لَوۡ لَا کَلِمَۃُ الۡفَصۡلِ لَقُضِیَ بَیۡنَہُمۡ ؕ وَ اِنَّ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ لَہُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِیۡمٌ ﴿۲۱﴾
21. Do they have partners (besides Allah) who have ordained a religion for them that Allah has not authorised? Were it not for the final word, the decision would have been made between them. Indeed, the wrongdoers shall have a painful punishment.
أم لهم شركاء شرعوا لهم من الدين ما لم يأذن به الله ولولا كلمة الفصل لقضي بينهم وإن الظالمين لهم عذاب أليم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 21)
تَرَی الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ مُشۡفِقِیۡنَ مِمَّا کَسَبُوۡا وَ ہُوَ وَاقِعٌۢ بِہِمۡ ؕ وَ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ فِیۡ رَوۡضٰتِ الۡجَنّٰتِ ۚ لَہُمۡ مَّا یَشَآءُوۡنَ عِنۡدَ رَبِّہِمۡ ؕ ذٰلِکَ ہُوَ الۡفَضۡلُ الۡکَبِیۡرُ ﴿۲۲﴾
22. You will see the wrongdoers fearing because of what they have earned, and that will fall upon them. But those who believe and perform righteous deeds will be in the Gardens of Paradise. They will have whatever they wish from their Lord. That is indeed the great bounty.
ترى الظالمين مشفقين مما كسبوا وهو واقع بهم والذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات في روضات الجنات لهم ما يشاؤون عند ربهم ذلك هو الفضل الكبير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 22)
ذٰلِکَ الَّذِیۡ یُبَشِّرُ اللّٰہُ عِبَادَہُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ ؕ قُلۡ لَّاۤ اَسۡـَٔلُکُمۡ عَلَیۡہِ اَجۡرًا اِلَّا الۡمَوَدَّۃَ فِی الۡقُرۡبٰی ؕ وَ مَنۡ یَّقۡتَرِفۡ حَسَنَۃً نَّزِدۡ لَہٗ فِیۡہَا حُسۡنًا ؕ اِنَّ اللّٰہَ غَفُوۡرٌ شَکُوۡرٌ ﴿۲۳﴾
23. That (reward) is the glad tidings Allah gives to His servants, who believe and do righteous deeds. Say (O Prophet): ‘I do not ask you for any reward for this (message), except affection for (my) close relatives.’ Whoever earns good, We shall enhance him in goodness (in the Hereafter). Indeed, Allah is Most-Forgiving, Most-Appreciative.
ذلك الذي يبشر الله عباده الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات قل لا أسألكم عليه أجرا إلا المودة في القربى ومن يقترف حسنة نزد له فيها حسنا إن الله غفور شكور
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 23)
اَمۡ یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ افۡتَرٰی عَلَی اللّٰہِ کَذِبًا ۚ فَاِنۡ یَّشَاِ اللّٰہُ یَخۡتِمۡ عَلٰی قَلۡبِکَ ؕ وَ یَمۡحُ اللّٰہُ الۡبَاطِلَ وَ یُحِقُّ الۡحَقَّ بِکَلِمٰتِہٖ ؕ اِنَّہٗ عَلِیۡمٌۢ بِذَاتِ الصُّدُوۡرِ ﴿۲۴﴾
24. Do they say: ‘He has fabricated a lie against Allah’? If Allah so wills, He may set a seal (of patience) on your heart (so their foolish talk may not hurt you). And Allah wipes out falsehood and establishes the truth with His Words. Indeed, He is All- Knowing of what is (hidden) in the breasts.
أم يقولون افترى على الله كذبا فإن يشأ الله يختم على قلبك ويمح الله الباطل ويحق الحق بكلماته إنه عليم بذات الصدور
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 24)
وَ ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ یَقۡبَلُ التَّوۡبَۃَ عَنۡ عِبَادِہٖ وَ یَعۡفُوۡا عَنِ السَّیِّاٰتِ وَ یَعۡلَمُ مَا تَفۡعَلُوۡنَ ﴿ۙ۲۵﴾
25. He is the One Who accepts repentance from His servants and pardons (their) sins and knows what you do.
وهو الذي يقبل التوبة عن عباده ويعفوا عن السيئات ويعلم ما تفعلون
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 25)
وَ یَسۡتَجِیۡبُ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَ عَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ وَ یَزِیۡدُہُمۡ مِّنۡ فَضۡلِہٖ ؕ وَ الۡکٰفِرُوۡنَ لَہُمۡ عَذَابٌ شَدِیۡدٌ ﴿۲۶﴾
26. He responds to those who believe and perform righteous deeds and gives them more (than they seek) out of His grace. But as for the disbelievers, there is a severe punishment for them.
ويستجيب الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات ويزيدهم من فضله والكافرون لهم عذاب شديد
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 26)
وَ لَوۡ بَسَطَ اللّٰہُ الرِّزۡقَ لِعِبَادِہٖ لَبَغَوۡا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ وَ لٰکِنۡ یُّنَزِّلُ بِقَدَرٍ مَّا یَشَآءُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ بِعِبَادِہٖ خَبِیۡرٌۢ بَصِیۡرٌ ﴿۲۷﴾
27. Had Allah given abundant provisions to (all of) His servants, they would have certainly transgressed throughout the land. But He sends down according to (a precise) measure whatever He wills. Indeed, He is All-Aware, All-Seeing of His servants.
ولو بسط الله الرزق لعباده لبغوا في الأرض ولكن ينزل بقدر ما يشاء إنه بعباده خبير بصير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 27)
وَ ہُوَ الَّذِیۡ یُنَزِّلُ الۡغَیۡثَ مِنۡۢ بَعۡدِ مَا قَنَطُوۡا وَ یَنۡشُرُ رَحۡمَتَہٗ ؕ وَ ہُوَ الۡوَلِیُّ الۡحَمِیۡدُ ﴿۲۸﴾
28. He is the One Who sends down the rain after they have given up hope, and He spreads His mercy. And He is the Guardian, the All-Praiseworthy.
وهو الذي ينزل الغيث من بعد ما قنطوا وينشر رحمته وهو الولي الحميد
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 28)
وَ مِنۡ اٰیٰتِہٖ خَلۡقُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ وَ مَا بَثَّ فِیۡہِمَا مِنۡ دَآبَّۃٍ ؕ وَ ہُوَ عَلٰی جَمۡعِہِمۡ اِذَا یَشَآءُ قَدِیۡرٌ ﴿٪۲۹﴾
29. And among His signs is the creation of the heavens, the earth and all (moving) creatures that He has scattered throughout them. And He is Most Capable of gathering them whenever He wills.
ومن آياته خلق السماوات والأرض وما بث فيهما من دابة وهو على جمعهم إذا يشاء قدير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 29)
وَ مَاۤ اَنۡتُمۡ بِمُعۡجِزِیۡنَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ۚۖ وَ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ مِنۡ وَّلِیٍّ وَّ لَا نَصِیۡرٍ ﴿۳۱﴾
31. You cannot escape (Him) on the earth (with your schemes), and you do not have, besides Allah, any guardian or helper.
وما أنتم بمعجزين في الأرض وما لكم من دون الله من ولي ولا نصير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 31)
اِنۡ یَّشَاۡ یُسۡکِنِ الرِّیۡحَ فَیَظۡلَلۡنَ رَوَاکِدَ عَلٰی ظَہۡرِہٖ ؕ اِنَّ فِیۡ ذٰلِکَ لَاٰیٰتٍ لِّکُلِّ صَبَّارٍ شَکُوۡرٍ ﴿ۙ۳۳﴾
33. If He wishes, He can calm the wind, so they (i.e. the ships) will lie motionless on the surface (of the water). Indeed, there are signs in that for every patient and grateful (person).
إن يشأ يسكن الريح فيظللن رواكد على ظهره إن في ذلك لآيات لكل صبار شكور
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 33)
فَمَاۤ اُوۡتِیۡتُمۡ مِّنۡ شَیۡءٍ فَمَتَاعُ الۡحَیٰوۃِ الدُّنۡیَا ۚ وَ مَا عِنۡدَ اللّٰہِ خَیۡرٌ وَّ اَبۡقٰی لِلَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡا وَ عَلٰی رَبِّہِمۡ یَتَوَکَّلُوۡنَ ﴿ۚ۳۶﴾
36. Whatever you have been given is only a provision of the life of this world, but what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who believe and trust in their Lord,
فما أوتيتم من شيء فمتاع الحياة الدنيا وما عند الله خير وأبقى للذين آمنوا وعلى ربهم يتوكلون
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 36)
وَ الَّذِیۡنَ اسۡتَجَابُوۡا لِرَبِّہِمۡ وَ اَقَامُوا الصَّلٰوۃَ ۪ وَ اَمۡرُہُمۡ شُوۡرٰی بَیۡنَہُمۡ ۪ وَ مِمَّا رَزَقۡنٰہُمۡ یُنۡفِقُوۡنَ ﴿ۚ۳۸﴾
38. who respond to their Lord, establish the prayer, their affairs (are decided) by mutual consultation and spend (in charity) out of what We have provided for them,
والذين استجابوا لربهم وأقاموا الصلاة وأمرهم شورى بينهم ومما رزقناهم ينفقون
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 38)
وَ جَزٰٓؤُا سَیِّئَۃٍ سَیِّئَۃٌ مِّثۡلُہَا ۚ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَ اَصۡلَحَ فَاَجۡرُہٗ عَلَی اللّٰہِ ؕ اِنَّہٗ لَا یُحِبُّ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ ﴿۴۰﴾
40. And the requital of evil is punishment equivalent to that (evil). But whoever forgives and reconciles (to rectify the situation), his reward lies with Allah. Indeed, He does not like the wrongdoers.
وجزاء سيئة سيئة مثلها فمن عفا وأصلح فأجره على الله إنه لا يحب الظالمين
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 40)
اِنَّمَا السَّبِیۡلُ عَلَی الَّذِیۡنَ یَظۡلِمُوۡنَ النَّاسَ وَ یَبۡغُوۡنَ فِی الۡاَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ الۡحَقِّ ؕ اُولٰٓئِکَ لَہُمۡ عَذَابٌ اَلِیۡمٌ ﴿۴۲﴾
42. The path (to blame) is only against those who unjustly persecute people and commit aggression in the land. For such, there is a painful punishment.
إنما السبيل على الذين يظلمون الناس ويبغون في الأرض بغير الحق أولئك لهم عذاب أليم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 42)
وَ مَنۡ یُّضۡلِلِ اللّٰہُ فَمَا لَہٗ مِنۡ وَّلِیٍّ مِّنۡۢ بَعۡدِہٖ ؕ وَ تَرَی الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ لَمَّا رَاَوُا الۡعَذَابَ یَقُوۡلُوۡنَ ہَلۡ اِلٰی مَرَدٍّ مِّنۡ سَبِیۡلٍ ﴿ۚ۴۴﴾
44. And whoever Allah leaves to stray has no guardian apart from Him. And you will see the wrongdoers when they face the punishment, saying: ‘Is there any way to return (to the world)?’
ومن يضلل الله فما له من ولي من بعده وترى الظالمين لما رأوا العذاب يقولون هل إلى مرد من سبيل
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 44)
وَ تَرٰىہُمۡ یُعۡرَضُوۡنَ عَلَیۡہَا خٰشِعِیۡنَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ یَنۡظُرُوۡنَ مِنۡ طَرۡفٍ خَفِیٍّ ؕ وَ قَالَ الَّذِیۡنَ اٰمَنُوۡۤا اِنَّ الۡخٰسِرِیۡنَ الَّذِیۡنَ خَسِرُوۡۤا اَنۡفُسَہُمۡ وَ اَہۡلِیۡہِمۡ یَوۡمَ الۡقِیٰمَۃِ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِنَّ الظّٰلِمِیۡنَ فِیۡ عَذَابٍ مُّقِیۡمٍ ﴿۴۵﴾
45. And you will see them being exposed to it, humbling themselves out of disgrace, looking with a faint glance secretly. And the believers will say: ‘The (real) losers are those who have ruined themselves and their families on the Day of Resurrection. Look! Indeed, the wrongdoers are in everlasting punishment.’
وتراهم يعرضون عليها خاشعين من الذل ينظرون من طرف خفي وقال الذين آمنوا إن الخاسرين الذين خسروا أنفسهم وأهليهم يوم القيامة ألا إن الظالمين في عذاب مقيم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 45)
وَ مَا کَانَ لَہُمۡ مِّنۡ اَوۡلِیَآءَ یَنۡصُرُوۡنَہُمۡ مِّنۡ دُوۡنِ اللّٰہِ ؕ وَ مَنۡ یُّضۡلِلِ اللّٰہُ فَمَا لَہٗ مِنۡ سَبِیۡلٍ ﴿ؕ۴۶﴾
46. And they shall have no guardians to help them against Allah. And whoever Allah leaves to stray has no way out.
وما كان لهم من أولياء ينصرونهم من دون الله ومن يضلل الله فما له من سبيل
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 46)
اِسۡتَجِیۡبُوۡا لِرَبِّکُمۡ مِّنۡ قَبۡلِ اَنۡ یَّاۡتِیَ یَوۡمٌ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَہٗ مِنَ اللّٰہِ ؕ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ مَّلۡجَاٍ یَّوۡمَئِذٍ وَّ مَا لَکُمۡ مِّنۡ نَّکِیۡرٍ ﴿۴۷﴾
47. Respond to your Lord before there comes a day from Allah, for which there shall be no revoking. On that Day, you will have no refuge, nor shall you have (any chance of) denial.
استجيبوا لربكم من قبل أن يأتي يوم لا مرد له من الله ما لكم من ملجأ يومئذ وما لكم من نكير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 47)
فَاِنۡ اَعۡرَضُوۡا فَمَاۤ اَرۡسَلۡنٰکَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ حَفِیۡظًا ؕ اِنۡ عَلَیۡکَ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ ؕ وَ اِنَّاۤ اِذَاۤ اَذَقۡنَا الۡاِنۡسَانَ مِنَّا رَحۡمَۃً فَرِحَ بِہَا ۚ وَ اِنۡ تُصِبۡہُمۡ سَیِّئَۃٌۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ اَیۡدِیۡہِمۡ فَاِنَّ الۡاِنۡسَانَ کَفُوۡرٌ ﴿۴۸﴾
48. And if they turn away (from your warnings), We have not sent you as a keeper over them. Your responsibility is only to communicate (the truth). Indeed, when We cause human being to taste mercy from Us, he rejoices in it. And if an evil befalls them because of what their hands have sent forth, then human beings are indeed very ungrateful.
فإن أعرضوا فما أرسلناك عليهم حفيظا إن عليك إلا البلاغ وإنا إذا أذقنا الإنسان منا رحمة فرح بها وإن تصبهم سيئة بما قدمت أيديهم فإن الإنسان كفور
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 48)
لِلّٰہِ مُلۡکُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ یَخۡلُقُ مَا یَشَآءُ ؕیَہَبُ لِمَنۡ یَّشَآءُ اِنَاثًا وَّ یَہَبُ لِمَنۡ یَّشَآءُ الذُّکُوۡرَ ﴿ۙ۴۹﴾
49. To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates whatever He wills. He bestows females upon whomever He wills, and bestows males to whomever He wills.
لله ملك السماوات والأرض يخلق ما يشاء يهب لمن يشاء إناثا ويهب لمن يشاء الذكور
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 49)
اَوۡ یُزَوِّجُہُمۡ ذُکۡرَانًا وَّ اِنَاثًا ۚ وَ یَجۡعَلُ مَنۡ یَّشَآءُ عَقِیۡمًا ؕ اِنَّہٗ عَلِیۡمٌ قَدِیۡرٌ ﴿۵۰﴾
50. Or He couples them as males and females, making whomever He wills infertile. Indeed, He is All-Knowing, All-Powerful.
أو يزوجهم ذكرانا وإناثا ويجعل من يشاء عقيما إنه عليم قدير
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 50)
وَ مَا کَانَ لِبَشَرٍ اَنۡ یُّکَلِّمَہُ اللّٰہُ اِلَّا وَحۡیًا اَوۡ مِنۡ وَّرَآیِٔ حِجَابٍ اَوۡ یُرۡسِلَ رَسُوۡلًا فَیُوۡحِیَ بِاِذۡنِہٖ مَا یَشَآءُ ؕ اِنَّہٗ عَلِیٌّ حَکِیۡمٌ ﴿۵۱﴾
51. It is not (possible) for any human that Allah should speak to him except through revelation, or from behind a veil, or by sending a messenger who reveals by His permission whatever He pleases. Indeed, He is All-Exalted, All-Wise.
وما كان لبشر أن يكلمه الله إلا وحيا أو من وراء حجاب أو يرسل رسولا فيوحي بإذنه ما يشاء إنه علي حكيم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 51)
وَ کَذٰلِکَ اَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ اِلَیۡکَ رُوۡحًا مِّنۡ اَمۡرِنَا ؕ مَا کُنۡتَ تَدۡرِیۡ مَا الۡکِتٰبُ وَ لَا الۡاِیۡمَانُ وَ لٰکِنۡ جَعَلۡنٰہُ نُوۡرًا نَّہۡدِیۡ بِہٖ مَنۡ نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ؕ وَ اِنَّکَ لَتَہۡدِیۡۤ اِلٰی صِرَاطٍ مُّسۡتَقِیۡمٍ ﴿ۙ۵۲﴾
52. Thus have We revealed to you the Spirit of Our command (i.e. the Qur’an). You did not know (before the revelation) what the Book was nor (the details of) the faith.* But We made it a Light by which We may guide whomever We wish among Our servants. And indeed, you guide (people)to the straight path.
* This verse refers to the unique status of the Holy Prophet (blessings and peace be upon him) as being an Ummi, not tutored by anyone to read or write. So, after hearing the verses of the Qur’an and the details of the faith, the disbelievers may not have any plausible reason to accuse him of being the inventor of the Book through acquired knowledge and scholarship.
وكذلك أوحينا إليك روحا من أمرنا ما كنت تدري ما الكتاب ولا الإيمان ولكن جعلناه نورا نهدي به من نشاء من عبادنا وإنك لتهدي إلى صراط مستقيم
(الشُّوْرٰی، 42 : 52)
صِرَاطِ اللّٰہِ الَّذِیۡ لَہٗ مَا فِی السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ مَا فِی الۡاَرۡضِ ؕ اَلَاۤ اِلَی اللّٰہِ تَصِیۡرُ الۡاُمُوۡرُ ﴿٪۵۳﴾
