53. وہ صرف اس (کہی ہوئی بات) کے انجام کے منتظر ہیں، جس دن اس (بات) کا انجام سامنے آجائے گا وہ لوگ جو اس سے قبل اسے بھلا چکے تھے کہیں گے: بیشک ہمارے رب کے رسول حق (بات) لے کر آئے تھے، سو کیا (آج) ہمارے کوئی سفارشی ہیں جو ہمارے لئے سفارش کر دیں یا ہم (پھر دنیا میں) لوٹا دیئے جائیں تاکہ ہم (اس مرتبہ) ان (اعمال) سے مختلف عمل کریں جو (پہلے) کرتے رہے تھے۔ بیشک انہوں نے اپنے آپ کو نقصان پہنچایا اور وہ (بہتان و افتراء) ان سے جاتا رہا جو وہ گھڑا کرتے تھےo
53. Do they wait for anything except the fulfilment of this (warning)? The Day when (the moment of) its fulfilment comes, those who had forgotten it before will say: ‘The messengers of Our Lord had certainly brought the truth. Are there any intercessors for us (now) who can intercede on our behalf? Or could we be sent back to do other than what we used to do?’ They have surely ruined their souls, and whatever (false beliefs and idols) they used to invent will abandon them.
18. اور آپ ان کو قریب آنے والی آفت کے دن سے ڈرائیں جب ضبطِ غم سے کلیجے منہ کو آئیں گے۔ ظالموں کے لئے نہ کوئی مہربان دوست ہوگا اور نہ کوئی سفارشی جس کی بات مانی جائےo
18. So warn them of the Day of the Imminent Event when the hearts will rise to the throats, suppressing distress inwardly. The wrongdoers will have neither a loyal friend nor any intercessor who might be heard.
